Went a little overboard when ordering since it was my first time but I'm glad I did. Ordered a chili cheese burger, chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries. The hotdog was my favorite followed closely by the fries the chili and cheese is the perfect amount for me because I love a saucy meal. We happened to be in the area and needed lunch. So we stopped in for Tommy's since it had been a while. We were disappointed, to say the least. First, we noticed how expensive it was. My cheeseburger meal was $15. We paid about $45 for 2 combos, chili fries, and a burger. I would be willing to pay the $45 if the food was worth it. But it wasn't. The cheeseburger was eh. The chili itself was more mushy than with whole beans. I was also sad to see Pepsi products instead of Coke. Despite the food, service was good. The lady at the counter was friendly. Store was clean too. And a side note, their restrooms don't have changing tables. I went to change my toddler and had to have her stand up to change her diaper. Finally got to try Tommy's for the first time and I wish I had them sooner! I've known about them for a long time too, damn, where has the time gone?! I tried the chili burger that has tomato, onions and pickles with a good amount of chili-excellent. What a great idea to put chili in a burger. Really changes the dynamics and brings the burger to a different level. The regular fries we shared are thick cut, not oily or too salty and a good amount. Since we biked there, this was a good amount and did not feel overly full or heavy. In n Out is good, but from now on, the next time I'm craving a burger, I'm coming to Tommy's, hands down. Tommy's is a favorite for 40 years now. My goto order is 1/4 pound chili cheese burger and fries. Use the chili and cheese that escapes the buns to coat your fries. If I'm especially hungry I'll add chili and cheese to my fries. Add a soft drink and you are in for a great hamburger stand experience Order and pay at the counter and your meal will be made fresh to order, your number will be called to pick it up when it's ready. Make sure to grab lots of paper towels to clean up after you eat. The chili is as messy as it is delicious. Also a fork is helpful for scraping the cheese and chili off the wrapping paper to be sure that you savor every last bit. read more

I was picking up quick lunch for my family and Tommy's was a convenient location being off the freeway with a drive thru. Unfortunately when I got to their menu there wasn't much that I wanted to buy. Their menu was very limited to burgers, hot dogs, chili and fries. I'm all for a compact menu, but when there is a limited menu my expectations are higher for what is served. My order consists of a Cal Classic Cheeseburger ($4.45) with no tomatoes, Chili Hot Dog ($4.95) hold the chili, a portion of regular Fries ($3.20), a portion of Chili Cheese Fries ($5.75) and a Rootbeer Float ($4.99). As a family none of us were impressed with any of the items ordered. This place definitely went into the *never buy this food for me again* category for my parents. The chili cheese fries I had was tiny compared to what I am used to at the Hat. I would prefer the Hat or even Weinerschnitzels over this. The rootbeer float was so small it was basically palm size and the ice cream layer was not enough and too melted for my liking. If I ever wanted this style of food, I must rather go to Legends or the Hat. Tommy is not a place I would consider for a return visit. read more
