More cafe food than meals and better sweet options than savoury. I would go here for afternoon tea rather than for lunch. There is a small grass fenced in children's play area with a swing and a slide suitable for occupying younger children while you enjoy your cake and tea (or a nice cool beer). Lies along a cycle route (R5 distance cycle route) between Herford and Bünde. It is about 5 miles (45min at a steady pace) from the centre of Herford on road and the cycle way suitable for bikes with bike trailers. Much of the cycle route is also suitable for taking a dog with you. There is loads of space for parking a car and it is out in the countryside so well suited as a base for a walk and then returning for refreshments.
