If you're looking for pest control, DO NOT use Orkin...that's the main point of this post and if you care to read on I'll explain why. We've lived in Bossier City LA for 11 years now and have never had a pest problem. I always sprayed my yard with Cutter Backyard Bug Control and used ORTHO Home Defense around the perimeter of the house, all openings and inside. I guess I just got lazy and decided to throw away $30 per month and use Orkin Professional services instead of my own tried and true methods. We signed up for Orkin's pest control exactly 1 year ago and last month (July 2022) we had an ant and wasp problem. Orkin initially came out (August 2021) and sprayed the interior and perimeter of the home and then returned on a quarterly basis to treat the perimeter of the home with the guarantee if we ran into any pest problems they would come out and spot treat for free. We called them the 1st part of July 2022 and informed them we had a bunch of ants around our kitchen sink. Orkin responded and put some ant bait around the sink area and told us to leave them alone and not do anything for a week and let the ants take the poison to kill the colony. After a week we still had ants, Orkin returned and put down more ant bait and didn't do anything for another week. We called and complained once again that we had ants and now wasps in our home, the Orkin technician immediately respond and put down 3 different baits all around our kitchen area and we had to wait another week. Now eventually a person gets tired of calling and complaining about the same thing and begins to wonder if this is worth the $30 per month for these professional services and elevates the issue higher in the chain of Orkin command. So far, the best excuse I've been given for the ant problem is "Well it's hot outside and they're trying to get in where it's cool". Now, I can't exactly blame the ants for that but again living in LA for 11 years it gets hot every summer and we've never had a problem before the Orkin Pest Control Professionals took over. I called Orkin and let them know I will be discontinuing my service agreement with them. Naturally they asked why so I explained and the representative asked if I'd mind if a manager contacted me, I said "I'd love to speak with a manager". A manager calls me back and I explained the situation to him. He informed me that he is the regional manager and would be in Natchitoches LA (about 60 miles away) on 9 August and he would drive up to assess the situation for himself if that would be OK. Absolutely perfect, maybe now something we will get done...NOPE...we set up a time that day for between 3 and 4 pm for him to come. I took off work an hour early to meet him at the home and what do I get... A NO SHOW, no call, no notification whatsoever. I again call Orkin and tell them to immediately ensure my service is canceled and I request a manager to call me...WELL, that never happened so here I am writing this complaint to email whoever I can find at Orkin, plaster to my 1200+ friends on Facebook, post on our neighborhood Facebook page to 900 households and let the couple of hundred folks that I work with on Barksdale Air Force Base know about Orkin's Professional Services. I will no longer be "BUGGING" Orkin about this and will battle these tiny creatures myself or use another service provider. Y'all have a great day! read more

He just drove away. They did a follow up and charged me 77 bucks, no problem. I needed a receipt or I won't get paid back from the account it was supposed to come out of, but I was strapped for time and just paid out of my personal acct and needed to get a receipt to get paid back from the acct it was supposed to be paid from. I signed the bill and was supposed to get a receipt, but he loaded up on the truck and drove off. I called the office and spoke to a lady to tell her my situation. She said she would email me a receipt, but still never got it. So I'm out 77 bucks. Thanks orkin! read more

This is the worst company! Do not use! They quoted me $2200 for termite treatment WITHOUT even looking under my pier and beam home to check!! I had another company come out that stated I DO NOT HAVE termites and in fact the house had recently been treated prior to us buying the home. This company is a SCAM and only out for money not to help people! read more

Don't even sign a contract...they missed their appointment 3 times in a row and still sent me a bill! They broke the contract and are very unprofessional! I can give anybody a second chance but third time you miss....your out! read more

I had been with this Orkin service provider for several years. Everything seemed find until I found some termites in one of the bait traps. I called and they said they would send someone out. No one ever showed up. Another time, the service inspector asked to inspect inside the house. He was just trying to sell additional service and lied to us about what he found. I never let them in the house again. Last year I sold the home in July and I called their office to tell them the property was sold. They still call me to schedule service visits and I keep telling them I have sold the property and to speak to the current owner. A few months later, I get another call for a service visit. I tell them I sold the property; talk to the new owner. I sent notes in the renewal notices from the regional headquarters in TX that I would not renew the service and that I sold the properties. They keep sending bills, so I called the Shv office and told them I sold the property and they say " sorry" they will update the file. They dont do sh*t. Today they emailed me another renewal notice. This company just does not get it and their whole operation is worthless. No one does anything, no one listens, no one updates any of their records. STAY AWAY. Find an independent service provider who cares about his customers and listens. Terminex is just as bad as Orkin. read more

They seem to have difficulty remembering a schedule. If you tell them to come in the morning and write that in your chart. It does not work. I have to call them back up to remind them afternoon don't work. They seem to do a good job when they get there. read more
