This is considered a small rural hospital,with many of the financial issues associated with large Medicaid and Medicare populations. But despite that, the nurses are competent and caring, the patient menu items are tasty, and the medical care is superlative. There should be a 0 star option for this hospital's ER. I've been sitting here with my elderly father in law for 7 hours. Last time I was here I sat with my mother in law on a gurney in the hallway for 8 hours while ambulances continued to come in and squeeze past us with other patients. Today during our wait in the ER lobby an office employee came out twice to take roll to see who was still here. 5 people had left without being seen and at least 3 had been taken back to be seen already. OMG! This is the fourth time I've been to this ER and NOTHING has changed. The wait time is still 20 hours AND the nurses like to play God with your triage. Because I'm noncompliant with my medications then I keep being skipped over. All I need is some insulin, Tylenol and motrin. How the fuck long does that take?????? I'm in and out of this ER than everyone else but people who lost their BP meds get taken to room before me. WTF?!? This is beginning to look racially motivated. It's amazing how I ended up in this hospital! It was supposed to be a vacation that ended up in a 5day stay at the hospital! We were visiting my sister-in-law who lives in Gerber, 1 hr drive from Oroville. Unfortunately, they had to rush me to the ER due to blood loss and I was suffering from Anemia. The first hospital didn't do anything except for giving me an IV and anti-nausea medicine. They sent me home. The next day I was in agonizing pain! My sister in law has a friend Cherith Taylor that works there! She's truly God sent!! She helped us out and guided us what to do and how to care for me. Even though she's an hour away, my husband and I with my sister in law decided to go to their hospital, the Oroville Hospital. It's so worth the hour drive and the 4hr wait at the ER waiting room! The ER doctor was so knowledgeable, he ordered all the tests for me. I sadly didn't get his name but he's young and an excellent doctor! I ended up having a surgery as they found polyps that's causing the bleeding. I had the endometrial ablation. Dr. Matthew Bazzani did the surgery and did such a wonderful job!! He's an expert! He explained everything and was very kind and considerate. Dr. Mee Yang is the best!! I know she's very busy attending to many patients but she always came with a smile and listened to me and explained to me what I need to know. Both of these doctors are amazing and at the top of their game! Very loving, professional and passionate! The staff are so wonderful as well! The CNAs, PTs and the Nurses are all kind and caring. I know they can't be there right away when you need them due to so many patients they have to attend to. But they took care of me so well. Even Odette the PT, helped me walk around and helped me clean up. I know for some it's nothing, but for sick people, it means the world! Overall if I can give this hospital 100 stars I WILL!! We patients (and families) need to be considerate and understanding of them as their jobs are not easy. They provide health care to us so we need to be kind and respectful. They are under appreciated and it breaks my heart. I'm now back in Las Vegas recovering from my surgery and I can not thank all of them enough for a job well done! Top-notch doctors and staff! Great Surgon!! Staff on the floor is a bit like a game of Russian Roulette. With the same end result. I was a guest for a week with a major surgery. While captive in my bed I was almost killed when my nurse for the 12 hr shift (they all work). Tried to administer my roommates insulin for their diabetes. I am no a diabetic. I waited in the emergency room for 41/2 hours before getting fed up & finally walking out. But before I left, I saw at least 7 different gang members in red walk right in & be seen. The parking lot in my car with my Mother for 12 hours before she was called in to be seen that alone was enough if I could I would have gave them 0 stars but I can't. This is the worst place to bring some one ever!!! Waited almost 4 hours in the ER room, thank finally got a room than the minutes said we should be discharged in 10 min but it's not true have to wait another hour and half more, keep saying the medication will be 10 min more.
