I recently have been working with OrthoNY because I was displeased with bone and joint due to there mannerisms. I liked my assigned surgeon. He was real and strait to the point. He finally gave me an answer I have been painfully looking for over 3 months. I have scheduled a surgery date ASAP cause living like this is no longer an option. Now I have always had some pain but this pain was enough to send me to the ER in an ambulance. Finding my diagnoses I was a bit overwhelmed and nervous that surgery was my only option or deal with the pain. I have been to the ER 3 times in this time period due to the excruciating pain that I wanted to end all....The ER sent me home with a few pain meds but continue to have you follow up with your DR. Well pain management group they don't manage pain...I see a surgeon and have called 4 times in 3 days and no response from my DR to alleviate some of this pain I'm having. This is inhuman to allow someone to feel like this. Dr. says go to ER the ER says go to the Dr...why is it so hard to get relief! The coordinator for this DR is Thresa she is rude and obviously working in the field doesn't understand that continuous pain to certain degree is unbearable and enough to make you insane. Its bad enough medical care cost a fortune but should it also cost you your life!!!! Not everyone is looking to get high...some people really do need relief. This is a same and unacceptable to ignore a client help! I will continue to keep everyone updated on this inhuman process. read more

Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Dr. Kaback is very knowledgeable and straight forward. Listens to your concerns and questions.

Schedulers are the real problem here, not the care given. They gave my father an appointment but NP said to call a week in advance to make certain it was approved by insurance due to being a new year. They called 2 months later to reschedule it because person would be in surgery that day. We reschedule (I rearrange my work schedule to accommodate the new day/time). I called 3x (starting the week before Christimas which was 3 weeks before the appt), my father called 1x to make sure it was approved and NO ONE ever called us back. I spoke with the operator the Friday prior to the Monday appt (explained appt was this Monday) who said she was sending it over to the patient coordinator as a PRIORITY message-still no call. We drive all the way there on Monday to be told the order for it had not been submitted yet so we have to reschedule. Their excuse is their IT systems have been down (depending on who you talk to) 1 week, 2 weeks, before Christmas etc. Another person said the coordinator was out sick for a couple weeks-even though she changed her vm from the 1st time I called to the next. I'm told it shouldn't have even been scheduled without prior approval (even though it was the time before). Then PA tells them to schedule it for the next week in the meantime but as soon as he is gone, they say they can't without prior approval from insurance-although the 1st time he got them it was scheduled prior to authorization-they called the next day saying it was approved. No can get their "protocols" straight-depends on who you talk to. Another patient sitting there says "I think we were dealing with the same patient coordinator because she failed to send my pre-op information which resulted in it being put off 1.5 months before I had my knee surgery." The attitude for the whole debacle is dismissive with no regard to peoples time, schedules, or gas to get there. I understand to err is human but the excess of the inorganization makes you wonder how a surgery outcome will end up. read more

I went to Ortho Urgent Care on Everett Rd. for a shoulder issue and I was quite impressed. I was scheduled for a follow-up with Dr. Kaback. At the follow-up appointment, Dr. Kaback spent only about 45 seconds with me. He quickly checked range of motion and then wished me a good summer. In and out in 45 seconds. No bedside manner. No chance to ask questions. He just didn't care. It took longer for me to park my car than to be examined by him. Even the receptionist who checked me in and out was unfriendly. Many of the physicians and staff at Ortho NY are ( or, in some instances, were) highly skilled. But, BE WARNED, the search for greater profits has supplanted offering good patient care as Ortho NY's primary mission. MY IMPRESSION -- If you like rude doctors and factory-like medicine, this is the place for you. It reminded me of a factory assembly line - with no more concern for the patient than an assembly line worker at an auto factory would have for a car moving down the line. Dr. Aronowitz is such an idiot, my knee is so bad I can barely walk. I asked if I could get an MRI, to see how bad my knee is soft tissue wise. He claimed it would only show soft tissue damage for say medial meniscus and ACL. I have no medial meniscus left you dumb ass which you would know if you checked my MRI from years ago, which he was too dumb to locate. Along with a torn ACL he said needed to be repaired with a ligament from a cadaver before. HE DID NOT EVEN KNOW THIS!!! He refused a handicap parking permit, even though his diagnosis is a complete knee replacement. I went down in my church parking lot scraped my hands and injured my wrist. Yet he insists I cannot have a handicap parking permit. I do now require a can for walking. read more

Good doctors, but their practice is focused around making money, and have little patience for patient concerns around billing, appointments, or access to care. I regular wait for more that 40 minutes past my appointment time, while being constantly reminded to show up 10 minutes early to every appointment, and any no show will result in a full charge to my account. Again, the actual care once I got past the $managers was good. But that takes a lot of time and patience from the patient- definitely not patient centered care. read more

Went here three times with a torn meniscus and without the surgeon even seeing me or explaining anything, his PT was ready to schedule surgery. Are you kidding? I said. I need to speak to the doctor before I'm letting him cut into me. Another appt. was scheduled and no one showed up, no PT, no DR. and NO CALL! Tried once again and the same thing happened. Forget about it, I don't care how good a surgeon is, my time is important, if you can't make sure someone calls to cancel our appt. you don't respect me, and I have no time for you. read more

I have seen three different doctors at this practice over several years. As good as they are, the support and administrative staff is just as good. I usually wait only a few days (not weeks) for an appointment, the in-office waits are short, it is well organized, calm, and not chaotic. Several offices are available, and they nearly always accommodate my preference. I can specifically endorse Drs. Flik, DeCamp, and Susland (sp?). Bottom line - unqualified, absolute recommendation. A model of how a large-scale practice can and should be run. The opposite of a factory. read more

I can't believe with all the choices in healthcare that there are doctors that still think their time is priceless and the patient's time is worthless. I had an appointment scheduled for Dr. Abraham today at 11:00am. I waited around until about 11:30 and after speaking with another "waiter" who had an appointment for 10:40 I went to the receptionist. Her response was, didn't they tell you when they made the appointment Dr. Abraham runs behind schedule. I immediately said "cancel my appointment , Dr. Abraham may be important, but he's not that important" and promptly left. This doctor could be a very good doctor but this is one patient that will never see him. Not that anyone from OrthoNY had the common decency or the courage to call me. read more

Is no stars an option? This "medical office/practice" has been more of a detriment to my life than anything. The so-called doctors they employ should be ashamed of themselves. Told by one OrthoNY doctor, three years ago, that I have scoliosis (pediatric doc never noticed it, while growing up. That's strange?)... Paid for months of physical therapy, massages once every three months, special scoliosis sleep equipment to improve comfort and prompt better positioning while sleeping... Only to be told by OrthoNY's "scoliosis specialist" three years later that I DON'T have scoliosis. Huh?!?!?! The real kicker was the shoulder shrug I got in response to, "well... What do you suppose is wrong with my back then?" Literally, OrthoNY, thank you for nothing. Never again, I highly recommend the Bone and Joint Center over this joke of a practice. read more

I generally like the orthony urgent care on Everett Rd which is why I brought my 11 year old son there to have his knee looked at. When we arrived, there were 15 people on the waiting room waiting to be seen. I was contemplating leaving, but didn't think we would have to wait too long. We ended up being there for four hours. We waited in the main waiting room for an hour, and then they moved us to the secondary waiting room where we waited for an hour and a half. We were finally brought back into a room where we waited for another 45 minutes until the PA came in to see us. Then she left and didn't come back for another 15 minutes. Then my son was brought to get an X-ray done and then we returned to the patient room and waited for the PA. Four hours! I did get an apology from Julio, who brought us back to the patient room. He said that they are never this busy on Fridays but didn't really give any explanation why we waited for so long. We've received great care in the past so we will go back but we will just plan on getting there first thing in the morning rather than 10:00am. read more

This practice is run so poorly. We have been to 3 different locations in 1 week. Bi fancy facilities but none of them cover all the bases. The entire process is ridiculous. The wait time insane. My mother, who has always been an active senior, had been experiencing increasing pain over the summer. She used to walk every day with a friend, but the pain had gotten so bad she started using a cane. She does not like us worrying about her, but we do, and she does not complain to us but we can see the pain on her face as she maneuvers around. She had made an appointment to see a physician at OrthoNY a while back, but as the pain got worse she called to see if she could get her appointment moved up, and OrthoNY was able to get her on their calendar a few weeks earlier. OrthoNY called her the day of that appointment and cancelled it. Thankfully, she had OrthoNY keep the later appointment date on the calendar at the time they scheduled her for the new one, in case she needed to get in for a followup appointment. She went to that appointment last week. At the time she scheduled both appointments, she had asked and was assured by OrthoNY that she would see an actual practice physician. Nope. When she went in last week they told her she would only be seeing the PA. Then they put her in a room to wait. She waited around on the PA for half an hour, decided she had waited long enough (especially since she wasn't even going to see a doctor as she was previously assured), and left. No one from OrthoNY has bothered to reach out to her to ask why she left without seeing the PA, or make sure she was OK. My mother is one of the kindest hearted, patient, easy-going people in existence (I'm all kinds of fired up over this, my mom would never leave a review herself and I doubt she'll like me leaving this one). Her experience with OrthoNY has been heartbreaking for all of us. Every person she loves saw that appointment as the turning point, where a physician would come up with a game plan to steer her recovery. We have literally been counting down the days to her appointment given the increasing amount of pain she is in. Oh, might I add most of the time she has a patient satisfaction survey waiting for her in her email before she even gets home from an office visit. I wonder why OrthoNY didn't bother to send her one this time... read more

After shattering my knee, I went to see Dr. Abraham, who seemed very knowledgable but told me that I didn't need surgery. He even suggested that he wouldn't want to put a plate and screws in my knee because he thought I would eventually need a knee replacement, and didn't want to be bothered taking them out. Thank goodness I got a second opinion-- five different orthopedic surgeons said that I absolutely needed surgery if I wanted to walk properly again! One of them said he found it hard to believe that a surgeon would recommend no surgery for someone as active as I am. Furthermore, he gave me a very expensive leg brace that I used for just a couple days before seeing a new doctor-- turns out the brace was completely unnecessary, but of course, I had to pay for it. Charge $5 for a copy of your bills to get emailed say it's because you need them quickly. They say quickest way you will receive them is in email. Never got the bills after a over week- called back and they say they are working on processing the files and they are busy. I ask to speak to a supervisor- they said that they are on it now and send them to email- within a minute -ask for your $5 back- they won't give it to you- they "are not authorized to issue refunds". Spoke to "Jo" at escalation in customer service for Ortho Ny billing. After spending hundreds of dollars a patient should be able to get a copy of their bill- without paying for it or having to call back to budge them to get the service you paid for. read more

I was having sudden back and leg pain after trying the walk in at bone and joint only to be told they have a new system and aren't up to full capacity and aren't taking walk ins . the next day still in extreme amount of pain i tried ortho ny and was lucky to have been seen by the PA Meredyth Monahan, my angel, in the short time i was there she had xrays AND an mri done. they even made me a follow up appt. Meredyth called me the next morning to tell me my mri results and i had told her a new symptom i woke up with she advised me to go to ER or primary and her caring didn't stop there she called me at 5 that night just to check on me and see how i made out. After covid in my opinion the health car profession went down hill but she restored my faith. She is a very caring person and made me feel like I wasn't just another patient. I am not a customer of OrthoNY. But I did receive a bill from them. I don't even live in New York; I live on the West Coast. To echo most of the reviews this organization seems to care mostly about money, to the point where they are ok with sending bills to people who have the same name as their existing patients. I guess they think that someone might send them a check by mistake so it's worth the price of postage. I think that's called a scam, but what do I know I'm not a doctor. read more

Another worthless medical facility. Schedule a follow up appt for 8am. First person in the door and checked in. It's 8:07 and three people that came in after me get scene. How is that even possible when you have the first appointment for the morning??? So of course go to the reception and lost my crap given the situation. She than walks to the back and when she comes out just sits down. I have to get back up and only than yells me the Dr is running late. It's 8:20am ! That's more than running late and you couldnt have told me that when I checked in ?! As a patient I have to be on time, I have to confirm my appointment and of I'm late shit it's like paying the no show cost and of course we pay a no show cost. So why is the Dr not paying me the no show cost and now I have to wait for another 3 weeks to get in because like most ppl who have to get to work on time and are accountable had to leave after waiting 20 damn minutes! Do not go to these people if you have a choose and absolutely do not see Dr. Sahoo ! I wish I could leave negatively numbered stars, the worst practice I've ever encountered of ANY kind, and I'm 61! I was involved in an auto accident when an elderly gentleman turned right in front of our car, I suffered a fractured sternum and some awful hematomas, but overall, was lucky it wasn't worse. After getting out of 2 days in the hospital, developed whiplash of my neck. Primary referred me to OrthoNY urgent care, who would NOT treat me said I needed to see a specialist - I thought that's why I was there?? I also was under infusion and radiation treatment (to my chest, too!) at the time for SCLC, had a standing 5 day a week apptment I could NOT miss, but they could not schedule me for a nonconflicting time. So they put the appointment out a full MONTH! Asked for a brace 'no we don't do that'.....what DO YOU DO?? Waited the full month, saw the so called dr, who said (direct quotes) "no xrays, you've been radiated enough, here's some steroids (I TOLD him I'm already on a lot of those w/treatment and having effects, he didn't care), and here's a script for PT', bing bam out the door ma'am. Oh and had a huge hematoma on right knee, he said 'you'll need to see specialist at some point' ....I THOUGHT HE WAS THE SPECIALIST Long story short, asked for home PT as I'm running to drs daily and can't just can't fit any more in, one month AFTER that (this is 2 months post accident!) received in mail a mittful of authorizations for PT, they said can't get you home PT, find someone and go... Had a real concern did not voice as was so rushed at orig. appointment - can I actually safely have PT of my neck and shoulders while suffering an unhealed fractured sternmum? Left question in portal twice, left message to so called medical assistant - NO ANSWER so I did not dare start PT I am now a full 3.5 months after the accident with as yet untreated by orthopedist injuries! I have an appointment in 2 days w/Bone & Joint, had to wait a month for THAT appointment There is a real issue with monopolized factory orthopedic medicine in this area...STAY AWAY FROM ORTHONY is all I can say!! read more

Totally took me by surprise. I got a call from a collection agency asking me if I had a problem with OrthoNY's bill. I told them I hadn't seen one. Did I forget to pay one? They told me the hasn't gone out yet, it was going out later that day. I asked how can I have a problem with a bill that hasn't even been delivered to me. Me thinks that they were just testing the validity of the phone number--for a patient with no outstanding bills.?? Recently, I scheduled a 10:30 am appointment. Dr. kept me waiting for 45 minutes. I was told he starts seeing patients at 10 am. I understand that doctors can get backed up during the day, but in the morning. I asked if there had been an emergency or reason for the back up. I've left several bad reviews for the Ortho NY Albany office. I wanted to update a review to say that I have to see an ortho doctor today and I am going to the Bone and Joint Center and NOT Ortho NY even though I have been a patient there for years. I owed them $75, they took a payment from me on 11/11/18 and had me in collections 3 weeks later! NEVER ONCE did they inform me I was going into collections which, in NYS, they are required to do so to give the patient an opportunity to pay the bill in full or make a payment plan. I hope people are reading the bad reviews this place has gotten and decide to go elsewhere. I have spoken to several people who have gone to this entity and they have never returned. After getting hit by a truck running one day that changed my life forever, I have had to have major surgeries. Dr Kaback was the first to put my arm back together and with extensive rehab I was able to gain some use again. Dr Whalen did my spine fusion and I'm still seeing him today for maintenance and possible future surgery. Dr Dellenbaugh did my foot fusion and reconstruction, we are having some issues with fusion and some broken screws but I wouldn't want anyone else working on me than these three great surgeons. read more

I am a patient of Dr Frank Conjusta. I had a total knee replacement on June 4,2019. I have had nothing but excellent care from him and his PA Richard Dalaba.I also want to say my case manager Megan was awesome. She called to check on me the day after surgery ( I had surgery in AM and went home the same day as my surgery) She called 2-3 times a week for the first 2 weeks post-op then weekly after that for the mfirst month post-op. Dr Conjusta's secretary Kristin has always been very helpful in filling out and returning any forms needed to obtain my disability and return to work paper work in a very timely manner, Ever person I have come in contact with in Albany, Delmar and East Greenbush have been nothing but professional and very nice. Never have we had to deal with such a lack of competence from a medical office. There is no follow thru or communication regarding MRI testing and results in regards to them ordering the correct follow up scans to rule out cancer. They give you scary results and then don't write the proper scan scripts to get your answers. They ordered the wrong follow up test and after a month still trying to get them to correct their mistakes. read more

This place is great if you want the doctors to make you feel like you're wasting their time. I was in and out of his office in about 12 minutes as a new consultation, including x-rays. He prescribed more physical therapy, which I had already been doing for 6 months. He wouldn't let me speak and I felt very rushed. He was very uninterested in helping me. Kandiel RPAC lied about how much my wife had improved and also stated that my wife used a crutch to walk with, not true. My wife was in a head on collision and has serious back problems and a twisted rib cage. For neither one of these problems did she have any answer, except for my wife to pick up her right shoulder, twist her body, and swing it to the right. Wow, now she is back to normal. What a Quack. It was an absolute waste of time, and money. Unfortunately this site won't let me give Zero Stars, as this is what Ortho NY deserves. Stay Away. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Fletcher's when I needed a full hip replacement in 2014 and Dr. Boler in 2016 for a fractured wrist. These doctors and OrthoNY were superb. My artificial hip helped me live without pain and I am able to do everything again. Dr. Fletcher continued to see me for annual check ups. Last year my wrist was just about smashed and I needed surgery on a weekend. Dr. Boler realized I wanted to be able to garden, play golf and pick up my grandchildren again. It was a difficult procedure but he accomplished it. I've had very pleasant experiences with the office staff and NEVER a problem with billing my insurance. I've been to thre locations for doctor visits and all staff has been friendly, helpful and professional. I give this practice my highest recommendation . read more

I went to the ortho urgent care here. I can't stand the Bone and Joint Center for many reasons so I figured if this went well, maybe I could go to this place regularly. In a word, I would describe the experience as "brusque." From reception to the X-ray tech to the PA, it was extremely fast(I guess if you look at it positively, you could say "efficient."I *was* in and out in 15 minutes flat.) I barely had time to answer 2 questions on the paperwork before I was hustled to the next room. I was told my X-rays looked fairly good, but they weren't reviewed with me. I felt the interactions were just rapid-fire and flat, not a hint of bedside manner or customer service anywhere. I'm a healthcare professional myself and don't expect luxury hotel treatment but wow. The diagnostics and exam were fine, recommendations were run through extremely quickly with no handout or anything. I left feeling...rushed through a very impersonal machine. read more

The Clifton Park Urgent Care experience was quick but totally useless and demeaning. Melissa (PA) refused to order an MRI for what I'm almost certain is a meniscus tear. She claimed that that type of pain doesn't wake you up at night. (Yes, it certainly does!) I've had 2 tears before and know what it feels like but she said it was arthritis because that's what shows on my X-ray. X-rays do not show cartilage damage or meniscus tears. ( And I've had arthritis for years-- different pain.) She gave me an absolutely excruciatingly painful cortisone shot which I had already told her I have had twice before with no real relief. She gave me a knee brace and exercises to do and said follow up in two weeks. She kept arguing that we would treat it conservatively and that MRI's are for surgical purposes. I said that they are diagnostic, too. She told me that I said I didn't want surgery and would not be able to take care of my disabled daughter if I had surgery. I reminded her that I only said that in response to her stance that MRI's are for surgery and I agreed that I would not want surgery if it were not necessary! Beyond that, there is a certain nurse that follows Dr. Aronowitz to different locations. She is always guffawing and laughing loudly at patients. They both are dismissive,snide and arrogant. The only nice staff are reception and the initial tech or nurse, Tyler. I will never return. I gave them enough tries. read more

Just had surgery thru ORTHO NY out of Malta office. Orginally started out with other surgeon and after several visits never got to see the surgeon but found out not very good reviews and not in my insurnace program so switched over to DR MONTGOMERY. SO GLAD I did. Bedside manners EXCELLENT and answered your questions and made you feel at ease. Surgery is a tense time and you need to feel you picked the right person for the job. I would HIGHLY recommend him and Dr Speert(pain management). Had it at St Peters and also GREAT staff there. read more

My husband came to this location with severe back pain. He was not offered medication to ease his pain. He was referred to imaging immediately. Followup visit after imaging was to have been with an orthopedist but was with a nurse practitioner, Theresa. Theresa recommended cortisone shots and PT but had no immediate access to either. She did not offer pain meds or muscle relaxants. She left the exam room while I was talking to her along with my husband, saying that she was going to make a followup appointment and print my husband's records. She never returned--went to lunch. My husband finally left the exam room and asked where she was. Requested Theresa phone him on return to the office. Also phoned repeatedly through the day and received no response until late afternoon (after I spoke with Patient Complaints) when he was told Theresa was "reviewing his medications." Asked when she would finish, he was told she had patients all day--no commitment to get back within a certain time. As I write, he is still waiting for a basic pain meds prescription to relieve his back pain enough to drive 3 hours home. Meanwhile, I spoke with Carl in Patient Complaints and asked that he find someone to complete my husband's appointment and prescribe what is needed. I specifically asked that he not involve Theresa, for obvious reasons. He never phoned back, so I phoned again. He had no explanation for why he ignored my request and placed the situation back in Theresa's care other than I am not the patient. I asked if he had my husband's phone number (yes) and why he had not contacted him. He accused me of not being civil and hung up. This office (and, apparently, Ortho NY in general), secretary excepted, is (need I say) unprofessional if not negligent. I am guessing that a typical Urgent Care would have done a better job.
