Having a fully working computer is really important for me; because that's the only way I do my day…read morejob and my business stuff. So, when my laptop recently broke down, I was in bits because I thought it was all over. I didn't have the money to purchase a brand new laptop so I had to find a way to fix the problem. The problem I had was that the laptop was over heating and it seemed that there was a huge virus on my system. So, I decided not to use a local computer repair shop- I decided to go all the way to Selly Oak because I'd once again been recommended this place by my very helpful network of friends. According to them, this was the place to get all your computer problems fixed; so I thought I'd try it out. I also didn't have much money to spend on getting the problem fixed; so was even happier when I was told it would only cost me £50 for a full repair and software update. My laptop did work after they fixed it and it's been in full working condition ever since I went there. It no longer over-heats and I had new virus updates installed on my laptop. Overall, a fantastic service from a local Selly Oak establishment!!

Give this place a try though. As well as repairing PC's and laptops, you can also purchase laptops and other computer accessories from here. But to be honest I would be more comfortable buying a computer/laptop from elsewhere. The CD's on sale are pretty expensive and that led to me buying them from another place. The prices in terms of the laptops being sold are pretty good. But again I would go somewhere else to buy a laptop. Customers I have spoken to have said they would come back to this shop and get their laptops repaired. The wait was not that long which was one reason why they said they would return. Staff are really helpful and they do know their stuff.

They diagnosed the issue in no time and even though I was panicking about loosing my data (no, i hadn't taken a back-up!) they managed to transfer it back to the laptop once the hard drive had been replaced. Inside there is a counter at the back. Lcd screens on the right, although they dont have loads on show they do have some nice screens. The same can be said about the desktop cases too. On the right side of the shop they have all the desktop tower cases varying in size shape style and colour for all those different requirements. The staff are helpful and can find or get you whatever you need. They also offer pc repairs too, so if any problems occur they can have a look at it for you. Let you know the problem and give you the option to fix it or do it yourslef. They also have a website if you cant get to the shop which is past the skydome. The site gives you more options than the shop and is a secure shopping experience. Again some of the latest components available to purchase at reasonable prices as well.

If you're desperate for something PC related and you need it today I suppose you've got no choice…read morebut to come here. A friend of mine used to work here and he knows literally nothing about computers, which is more than most of the staff there anyway. The staff work on the concept that you also know nothing about computers, and hence will show you something for what appears to be a reasonable price, and then and flog you some extended warranty which is where they make their real commission. I don't blame them for this though, it's just the nature of their job. Prices of everything in the store are extortionate compared to what can be found online on sites such as dabs.com or ebuyer which is why you should avoid using them if at all possible. An example would be standard cabling, a 1.5m length of cat5e for example will cost £15-20 from PC World compared to ~£2 online including postage. The same for USB cables, especially standard printer cables which are £14.99 in store. Drive down to Tesco and get the same one from there for £1.97! If you desperately need some hardware today then yes, you'll get what you're looking for there, their choice is pretty good, but the prices are not. Also, speak to the 'Tech-guys' behind the repair desk, they know exactly what's going and can give you some solid advice. If you're reading this review then you're pretty tech-savvy as it is and know you can buy cheaper online 95% of the time.
