After getting…read moremy uncle settled into an assisted living facility today, dealing with him falling shortly after getting there, and other assorted "fun" things, I saw that Klenz Farm Fruit Stand had corn. So I stopped. There was a woman and her husband standing in front of the cash register, talking about cucumbers. So I walked to the other end of the counter and starting choosing corn. The woman behind the counter reprimanded me for checking the ends of the cobs: "Ma'am, if you look at it you have to buy it." OK... so I stopped checking and chose a few more ears and proceeded to pay. The woman from the cucumbers gruffly moved over to the corn. So I quickly said, "I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was blocking you from the bags." She ignored me but said something after I walked away. And the woman behind the counter said, quite loudly, "It takes all kinds!" What did I do??? Thanks, Klenz Farms for you and your customers giving me the last straw today that pushed me over the edge to tears. Don't worry. I won't ever give you the opportunity again. Finnell Farms is right down the road!!

Perfect place to grabs a sweet treat or gift for a friend, too. Great little resource for locals and tourists alike. I personally find the baked goods to be underwhelming, especially with so many other exceptional places in Erie for donuts and cookies but that is a very personal preference. There is NO signage or help outside buyers so I got chastised for trying to bring my pumpkins into the store to the very small /overcrowded checkout desk. Maybe a sign or station a person with a hand held checkout machine for the outdoor purchases??? I get that they are trying to sell a lot ..a lot of variety..but sometimes too much is a bad thing. Maybe it's overdue time to reconfigure a better layout. They have been in this location for a long time..maybe hire a person to reconfigure things. They specialize in produce, having some of the biggest, best tomatoes you can ever find, but more than that, a wonderful cheese....my favorite of all cheeses...being a sharp New York. They also have custom "in house" pickled cucumbers and other pickled items jarred along with various garlic and other seasonings in a blend nowhere else to be found. They also carry various canned specialty jellies and other items along with hanging and other flower plants. Though Big Joe is now in his 90's and rarely if ever present, his sons carry on his tradition of pleasant friendly helpful service and prepare many of the items exactly the same way he did. If I could give you just one tip, it would be to try the cheese. It's one of the best I've ever had.
