Oscar was recommended from a friend of mine. I called him for a quote and found him immediately easy to converse with. He understood what needed to be done and arrived at my house at the scheduled time. I had quite a few trees and bushes in front and backyard that need to be trimmed, rake leaves, mow and trim the lawn to have it ready for spring. He gave me a fair quote and never tried to pressure me into making a rush decision. I felt he understood what needed to be done and his prices was reasonable when compared to other quotes that I had received , so I decided to go with Oscar. After reading all the wonderful reviews regarding Oscar Ponce Tree Service on yelp, my husband and I decided to give them a call. We had a very large tree trimming job. We have several trees in our steep back yard that were in dire need of trimming. Oscar came out the very next day after being called. He gave us great insight on exactly how the trees should be trimmed and even discussed trimming trees in the front yard as well. His crew showed up promptly on the day promised, did the work quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up the entire front and back yards before leaving. These guys did an excellent job! I just moved into my first house, which needs some tlc and I knew the trees on the property needed trimming, but I had no clue how to go about doing that. Once day I came home and there was a business card in my door from Oscar Ponce Tree Service, so I decided to look the business up on Yelp. The company had nothing but good ratings so I decided to make an appointment with them. I must say the whole team was extremely courteous and professional. Not only that, but they did an amazing job with my whole property. My front and back yard look 2 X's larger because of all the clutter they took away. They neatly trimmed and shaped all of my trees and they took great care with everything. These guys are true professionals and the price was more than reasonable for all the work that was done. I have a two story house and an oak tree that had a branch that had started to rub on the roof of the house. I would have needed a ladder to climb on my patio and another ladder on the sloped patio roof, and then I would have had to climb this second ladder with a chainsaw to cut this heavy branch. I was about to become a Darwin award candidate! Additionally, the rest of the tree needed a lot of pruning and cleaning and I also needed another tree cut down. Too dangerous, too much work, I didn't want to do it...........I estimated it would have taken me 2-3 hours a day every Saturday and Sunday for ~2 years to finish that project! Called Oscar Ponce on Friday, set an estimate time of 11:00 Saturday morning. He showed up at ~11:40, no big deal for me--I understand it is hard to stick to a schedule when every job is different. He gave me a reasonable estimate and said they could be back ~2:00-2:30 to start. I agreed. They showed up ~3:00, once again, no big deal for me as I was out running errands. They didn't need me present to start working. Four man crew took about 3 hours to finish. They were all over those trees with ladders, ropes and saws! They treated all the cuts, cleaned up everything very nicely and hauled away all the branches and bigger stumps. Pruned tree looked really good, and the tree they cut down was completely gone, stump was level with the ground. Couldn't even tell there was a tree there. I had asked for the wood to be stacked for me to use for smoking(Pecan tree). They neatly stacked the usable logs where I had told them. Will be calling them again in the spring for additional work in the front yard. Very satisfied with their work. read more

We had some big tree trimming needs that we had been putting off, which only made things worse. Our large Spanish Oak had a lot of dead branches and several other big trees were starting to hit the roof (including a few that are on the neighbor's property). We'd called a few places in the past couple months and were pretty shocked at the high prices we were given. After reading Oscar's reviews here, we decided to see what he would offer. He was at our house the same day we called him, gave us BY FAR the most reasonable price and said he and his team could be back the next day if we wanted. We called the next morning to say we wanted to hire him. Oscar and his team were there later that day, did all the trimming we had asked for, including the neighbor's trees (don't worry, we talked to the neighbors about it), cleared the roofline and left no trace of trimmings on the ground. Oscar has helped me out twice with some old trees at my house now and both times he and his crews have done a great job! Same day I called, he came out and provided an affordable quote for the tree service and was able to complete the work quickly. First time, a branch had fallen after an alternating dry and wet season and his crews were able to clean this up very quickly. We did not use Oscar because we had an emergency and he understandably couldn't take care of our tree on Sunday. However, a week prior to the tree knocking on our house and causing a Sunday emergency, he came out the same day to provide an estimate for the work that needed to be done. The reviews are correct. I called Oscar and he drove from South Austin to Georgetown during rush hour traffic and gave me a great bid. He gave me a great quote and actually did the work the following day. He and his crew arrived right on time the next afternoon and were finished with cutting down two big trees that were crowding my house and cleaning up the wood and extra wood I had cut, all within a few hours. Oscar Ponce and Ricardo and the crew just finished a three-day job for us. We are in a rural setting and have had many trees die due to drought. We called Oscar Ponce due to the 5-star reviews on yelp. Oscar and Ricardo came out right away and studied what we wanted. They worked with us on scheduling. The crew was here promptly every morning and worked into the evening. They worked fast and efficiently, cleaning up all debris and hauling away numerous heavy loads. They avoided having trees fall on plants and other areas that we marked. They cut stumps level with the ground. They needed very little supervision (which was not the case with another tree service that we hired previously). They weren't cheap, but they weren't too expensive for all the work they did, and in the end, they were worth every penny. My husband said it would have taken him a year to do what they accomplished in three days. We would hire them again any day and fully recommended their service. read more

We just bought our first home and one of the issues that had been pointed out by our home inspector was that we needed to have a very large hackberry tree removed - it was growing much to close to the foundation as well as providing access to our roof for every tree climbing beast in the neighborhood. We had several tree service companies come out and give us free estimates. The companies gave us exorbitant quotes with lengthy time frames. We initially went with a different tree service, but when they didn't show up on the date they specified, we called Oscar Ponce on the recommendation of our home inspector. Oscar himself stopped by the next business day, gave us a the most reasonable estimate yet, told us he could be done in one day and could start at 9 a.m. the next morning. His crew was prompt and professional, but most important, extremely careful dealing with a tree that spanned our roof and our neighbor's house. This morning, a monster hackberry tree broke in half and fell to earth, bouncing off my roof on the way down. The remaining portion was pounding against my 2nd story window every time the wind blew. I searched online and contacted several tree services for estimates. When I got to Oscar, he answered on the first ring and after listening to my situation, offered to come for an estimate this afternoon. We discussed prices and options. I'm not a rich man, so I decided to have him just do the bare essentials to protect my house. He said his crews were busy until the end of the week, but recognizing my concern, offered to send a crew by when they finished their last job today. Close to 5 pm they pulled up and went to work. It's 7 pm now and they're done. Oscar had them do 30% more work for free that he knew my son and I would be ill equipped to handle.
