    Taquito with topping on side

West coast Mexican street food continues in middle TN. With plenty of meat options, you can enjoy a quick bite anytime. The toppings are fresh and 2 taco sauces (red/green) come to the table with your order. Still coming here on a semi-regular basis.

A Taste of SoCal Perfection in Hendersonville!

A Taste of SoCal Perfection in Hendersonville! As someone born and raised in La Mesa, right in the heart of San Diego County, I have a lifelong appreciation for truly authentic Mexican food. Finding this gem in Hendersonville has been an absolute delight - it's a genuine reminder of those incredible flavors I grew up with! Every single visit, the staff here goes above and beyond; they are consistently cheerful, incredibly kind, and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The food? It's the real deal. Those rich, authentic tastes transport me right back to my favorite spots in Southern California. And let's be honest, if this place had a drive-thru, my waistline would be in serious trouble - it's THAT good! I'm almost glad I have to walk in; it helps me savor the experience (and maybe burn a calorie or two beforehand!). Great Food + Great Service + Great Atmosphere = This is hands down, a perfect spot to eat. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine and a fantastic dining experience! Beef Taquitos after I unearthed them from all the lettuce and tomato

Bear in mind that I ordered this on Door Dash. That doesn't change the basic components of a dish. You give a little grace for time in the car. This just isn't good. I gave it 2 stars because I have had far worse Mexican in my area. If you are going to be on Door Dash, you need to make accommodations for that car ride. The Taquitos were COVERED in wet lettuce and tomatoes. I did have the option to get the cheese and guac on the side. It should all be on the side for the hope of crispiness. The actual Taquitos were flavorless and so thin. I would serious call them cigars. The street tacos were smothered in a super hot guacamole. The meat lacked basic seasoning. There was nothing else on the. No cilantro, no onions. I did get a lime. The rice was hot like paprika and white pepper. It lacked salt or stock. It tasted like it was cooked in water. The house beans were good. It would be nice if you could order without cheese for those with dairy allergies. The guacamole was awful. Kind of a grey/ green... overwhelmed in jalapeño. And after $27 they don't even include free chips. People rave about this place. I will not order again. Too much time out West eating good Mexican I guess.

    Taco combo

We decided to try someplace new. We were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and approachable, restaurant was clean, food was fantastic. Plenty to eat. I got one taco combo and it was $8.75, and I had more than I could eat. My husband got a carne asada quesadilla and he could barely finish it. The red salsa was outstanding. We are from out of the area, and I can say when we come back this is going to be our lunch stop.

ALRIGHTY THEN!! It's about time that Hendersonville got a Good Mexican fast food restaurant that has Rolled Tacos, real carne Asada burritos (without the rice and beans in it) great quesadillas with all the fixings and hardly do you ever see Carne Asada fries they have it! The staff is very friendly and the inside of the room is awesome. Very clean and neat. This is a must check out place if you want something quick, delicious and filling and, appealing to your eyes. Freshly prepared for you!

Absolutely love this place! First time we have eaten out with our newborn- he is officially six weeks and two days yesterday. Could not have had a better experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the place was super clean. Definitely recommend going here. The pricing was excellent. We will 100% be back!! Absolutely wonderful experience- thank you!!

Stumbled across this place the other day and wish I had sooner. Fast service, authentic delicious food and super nice workers. The restaurant is great for take out or to dine in for a quick bite. I've gone back twice in one week! Would recommend the carne asada burritos and quesadillas, but definitely get the queso to dip in!

I stopped in to Oscar's a few weeks ago. I personally was not a fan, but the food was good and I can see others enjoying it. I wasn't a fan because I feel like their Pico had a herb or something in it that I just did not like at all. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't in any other pico I have ever had. My reviews below are pretending it didn't have that pico on it. I tried the carne asada fries. Huge portion. Lots of fries, meats and topping. No complaints at all. Fries were fried perfectly. The fish taco and the asada tacos were good. Generous portions again. Staff was friendly. Good was out quick. The restaurant was busy, looked clean and everything you could need was easily accesible.

Ordered 3 California burritos and all 3 did not have sour cream or guacamole. Annoying for $40 to say the least.

For those who are looking for Ricardo's...this is the place, but it underwent a rebrand and relocation in the past few years. The restaurant is not large, but being located on the corner of the plaza gives lots of natural light for the long dining room, plus a cool cutout space for the bright bar and there is even a small patio outside of the front door. The space does not give off your standard Mexican restaurant vibes in full, but the essence of it is there and that is good enough! I have dined in, but most of my visits are pickup from an online order. My go-to here is always the Arroz con Queso. Unlike other spots, this comes automatically with peppers and onions, but no tortillas. I 86 the peppers and live without the tortillas. It is a good amount of chicken, rice, onions and queso. Always hits the spot! Along with this, I usually get a bowl of queso, but recently decided to get an order of bean dip...and where has this been my whole life. I kind of knew what to expect, but the ratio of refried bean to queso was absolute perfection! Price point was standard and ran me around $23 for my entree and dip plus tip. Service is always welcoming and friendly, plus they are usually quick with preparation, so never long waits whether dine in or pick up. Overall, really happy to have found El Mezcal. A solid go-to when in Hendersonville!

I swung by on an afternoon for lunch after doing some shopping nearby. The place was not too busy, so I was sat promptly and assisted shortly after. The space is welcoming, themed, bright, well kept and clean. As with any stop at a Mexican spot, queso is always a starter. Priced at $5, the queso was standard, but that does not equal bad. Exactly what I was after. For my meal, I went with the Pollo Mexicano, which is a slight twist on the Arroz con Pollo, as they add sauteed onions and jalapeno peppers. It came in around $15, which was decent given the portion and preparation. The food was nothing special, and could have used a bit more seasoning, but it was still a decent lunch for $20 plus tax and tip. Service was okay. My server popped outside for a good portion of my meal, so I did have to get up and go to the bar at one time for a refill. He apologized and we moved on, no big deal. Overall, solid 3.5 for me. Wouldn't hesitate to come back when in the area, but not going to go out of my way to swing by.
