No menu when you go inside. Just a grumpy worker that you are even there.
    Jessica D.

Came here for their advertised happy hour - however, we were met by a very grouchy Bar guy who didn't even give us the happy hour menu until we asked him - which he was annoyed by doing so. We did not receive a menu just a verbal listing of what wine was on the happy hour... Which I had to ask twice when he was saying what was on it because the music was so loud. Which he was additionally annoyed by. i'm very sad by the whole experience because we live in the neighborhood and was very excited about trying out this place. Sadly, I will not be back.

Really great no-frills Italian restaurant in West Village. Not loud, and easy to book a table with little notice. They definitely seem to take care in what they're providing, and the lighting is dim and intimate. The service was attentive. The pasta definitely tasted homemade and fresh, and the mushrooms that decorated it were deep and flavorful. The dish was well balanced and I would come back again, especially to catch up with someone. The ambiance is perfect for you to be able to have a conversation with someone. The tables are a bit tight together, so especially in the winter where everyone has bulky jackets, just be careful about bumping into other tables if you sit along the sofa area. However, they do have the option to check your coat in also.

From the moment we arrived to the restaurant the GM was very attentive to our needs, and they were also able to accommodate to our late reservation and were patient with us. The GM helped with recommending dishes to try and every suggestion was delicious. The Beef tartar was a great appetizer and the salad they paired with it was a great choice. The lasagna sauce was amazing and I'm still thinking about it. The pot roast ravioli was good but not my fav. I would definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu. The Chardonnay that we ordered also paired with our dishes. Although the restaurant was tightly packed, we enjoyed our date night!

More like 3.75 All the appetizers were had were very tasty. Pizzetta - chruncky texture fluffy bread, prosciutto with basil pesto sauce all together eas heavenly. Crab Tart - refreshing and delicious. Carlina Insalata - also very good if you like fennel. Refreshing. Veal - not my favorite but my friends enjoyed it. Pasta unfortunately not as wow-ed as the appetizers ... White Ragu Pasta - recommended by our server, feels lean, not complex, feel more like eating minced meat over noodle. Agnolotti - the filling was dense and dry. Mushroom Papadelle - very good. Probably the best among all. Dessert overall was fine.

If you're looking for authentic Piedmontese cuisine, look no further than Osteria Carlina! We walked in without reservations, but Ramon made sure we were comfortable at the bar. The atmosphere is perfectly cozy and romantic, with soft jazz playing in the background. We ordered the vitello tonnato to start - pretty tasty, but could've used a thicker tuna sauce. The real stars of the show were the pastas. Having the Tajarin was like being transported right back to northern Italy. Every bite was heaven. The Agnolotti was also delicious - rich, savory, and luscious. We finished with an espresso and the tiramisu - a classic, you can't go wrong. Ramon was wonderful in making our night wonderful. Can't wait to come back soon!

Fantastic Italian restaurant in west village! This was honestly one of the best pasta restaurants I've been to in Manhattan so far. I especially loved the mushroom pasta we ordered-- the texture of the pasta was fantastic and the sauce was creamy and scrumptious (but not too heavy)! Vibe was great-- definitely a good date night spot (especially in the outdoor patio). Service was fast and good. I'll definitely be back when I'm craving some pasta!

Beautiful date night spot. First time having a lambchop milanese, it was very crispy and delicious. The lamb ragu tagliatelle was also very good. The asparagus was so well seasoned. There's an option to make your own espresso martini which I didn't do but I haven't seen this anywhere else and thought it was pretty unique. Don't skip the bread service!

    Capesante e Ciliegie (scallops)

This review is for dinner. I stumbled upon this place without looking it up prior and was VERY pleasantly surprised by the food and would come back! Walked up with no reservations during the weekday and was seated immediately. It's elevated and feels intimate (white linen tablecloths, waiters are dressed up), but doesn't feel stuffy at all. And doesn't necessarily feel like you need to dress up (lots of people stopped by in casual attire). Service was great. I ordered the below for two. We probably could've ordered one more pasta, but generally was enough food: -Pizzetta al Tegamino: great app. Comes cut into 4 slices. Bread is doughy. Favorite thing we ordered. -Capesante e Ciliegie (scallops): comes with 4. Scallops melt in your mouth. Sauce is fairly mild and light. -Tagliatelle D'Astice (lobster pasta): fresh and light. Sauce isn't creamy. Needed a little salt, but overall enjoyed. Great dish for summer.

A middle school cafeteria with toursits vibe - $80 cover charge Saturday night, I made a reservation at Osteria Carlina West Village. We arrived 15 minutes early, took one look around, and decided it wasn't for us. Think tourist crowd with groups seated side-by-side on low chairs like a middle school cafeteria. We POLITELY told the host we'd like to cancel, he nodded, no problem. Yet we were still charged $80 for the privilege of not dining there. When I called to clarify, their solution was to offer us a discount if we came back. I said again politely, "Now I feel forced to dine, and I will not come under these circumstances." and the staff responded "Sure, bye". For anyone looking for an idyllic West Village night, this isn't it. I understand if you charge for no-shows and late cancellations. We arrived early and very very politely informed the host that we'd like to cancel. We've never been charged in NYC for canceling in person, so this charge is unwarranted. Sometimes being polite gets mistaken for being passive. So here you go -- may this image scream on my behalf.

The menu has plenty of variety across pastas, seafood, and cocktails, with some unique dishes that made the experience memorable. The drinks were a highlight, and the seafood options stood out the most for me. My Tipsy Tayke: The Fragola Fizz was juicy, fruity, and refreshing. The Forever Summer was another standout, with the smokiness of the mezcal blending really well with the fruit flavors without overpowering them. Both are easy recommendations depending on whether you want something fruity or a little more complex. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Seafood Ravioli Unique, flavorful, and packed with different seafood flavors. The ravioli itself was delicate and had a tendency to fall apart, but the flavor made up for it. Standout: Calamari Crispy, seasoned, and enjoyable. It had a slightly chewy texture, but I still found myself going back for more. The Carpaccio wasn't necessarily for me texture-wise, but I really enjoyed the greens and dressing that accompanied it. The garnish felt intentional and helped bring the dish together. The Pappardelle came with plenty of sauce but could have used more flavor overall. The complimentary bread was also tougher and chewier than I prefer. Desserts: The Lemon Sorbet was easily my favorite dessert. Bright, refreshing, and packed with real lemon flavor. The Mango Sorbet was another refreshing option with a smooth tropical sweetness. The Panna Cotta Cheesecake leaned closer to a mousse in texture and was definitely on the sweeter side. I especially enjoyed it with the cherry, which helped balance everything out. Service: Warm and attentive throughout the meal, fitting the inviting atmosphere. Plates From My Visit: Calamari Carpaccio Seafood Ravioli Pappardelle Lemon Sorbet Mango Sorbet Panna Cotta Cheesecake Fragola Fizz Forever Summer In Conclusion: A warm Chelsea Italian spot with strong cocktails, unique seafood dishes, and refreshing desserts. The Seafood Ravioli was the highlight of the savory side, but whatever you do, save room for that Lemon Sorbet. Stamped by Elajas
