Gnocchi...most amazing dish ever! Get the sausage option
    Robin H.

Wow! We had three dishes and split them all. Our server Sawyer made super recommendations and was fantastic in general. Risotto balls to start were unique and delicious. We had the gnocchi pasta with the sausage and it's one of the best dishes I've ever had...beef cheeks as our secondi were yummy too. I definitely want to eat my way through the menu. Casual upscale atmosphere. Not touristy which is a welcome change.

I went back twice this past weekend to explore more of the menu. They have a small farm/massive garden behind the restaurant where they grow their most of the ingredients they use, and they source everything else locally. Over the weekend, we ordered their housemade focaccia, meatballs, Bruschetta with burrata and prosciutto, Mare e Lago with fried calamari, whitefish nuggets, and zucchini, Branzino, and a Porcini mushroom-rubbed Filet. Every bite was delicious, and we felt the Bruschetta was our favorite, but the Branzino and Filet were close runners-up! Saturday night, we received great service from Carmen, and Sunday night, we received great service from Olivia! Osteria Tre Tassi is a place I make a point to visit whenever I'm in Door County, and I highly recommend you do the same! They take reservations and book up quickly, so try to plan ahead.

We came to Osteria Tre Tassi for my birthday as a party of five. We had a reservation and were sat immediately. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered appetizers, the plain focaccia and the crostinis. Both were extremely good! We all got pasta and thought it was delicious! They were out of mussels and clams for the seafood based pasta, but did offer to sub in shrimp and calamari, which our group accepted and really enjoyed. The food was really good, but I will say it was a slower dining experience, with us being there for 2 hours. We waited for a while for each course, including drinks, but our waters were refilled often which I always appreciate. They also never brought our salad out, but were obviously happy to take that off the bill when we pointed it out. They don't do anything for birthdays (candle, dessert, etc.) which is also fine and I can always go without the singing! It was overall a good experience. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly, I think it just could've moved more quickly because the restaurant was less than half full. I would recommend giving it a try and definitely would order pasta!

Excellent service and very tasty meal. This was our first experience at Osteria Tre Tassi. You can always taste the difference when fresh food is prepared. We hope to return.

Don't let the 1 star reviews deter you from coming here. We went on a Thursday night, did not have a reservation, and were able to get seated after about a 15 min wait at the bar. We chatted with the bartender while he steadily made some pretty fun cocktails. We sat in the covered patio area and our server was excellent. We ordered four different starters - bread, meatballs, deep fried risotto and burrata. All were great. We split the gnocchi and pesto pasta and both were excellent. I love homemade pasta. My friend got the whitefish and she said that was really good too. They do take reservations so if you are planning to come during a busy time I would call and make them. The place is not very big.

A cold, snowy night made for a perfect evening dining out at Osteria Tre Tassi in Ellison Bay's historic Griffin Inn. Our evening there was sheer perfection on all fronts. Our wines were delicious, and a specialty Italian crostini with a name I can't pronounce was absolutely fabulous and a great start to the evening. I'm a picky eater and I normally don't eat food that is unfamiliar to me, but I took a gamble with this appetizer and was greatly rewarded. A standard small romaine salad, actually so well sized that I couldn't finish it, served as the introduction to my pepper and sauce rubbed filet, which was done to perfection. I love a good steak, and this was one of the best that I have ever eaten. My wife selected the beef cheeks for her entre, and they were deliciously tender, tasty, and smothered in gravy. Later she ordered an interesting Pistachio cake for dessert. I selected the Italian cannelloni, which was very well done with nice touches, but not far from most cannellonis that I have eaten over the years. The Griffin Inn just exudes atmosphere and, happily, we were seated next to the roaring fire in the dining room. Life doesn't get any better than this! Our thanks to Shannon, our wonderful waitress, Joey, the host, Robyn, the fabulous chef, and Dustin, the bartender. We have dined here in the Griffin Inn in all of its fine dining restaurants over the years, and Tre Tassi is a worthy successor to all of them. As I have said, the evening could not have been more perfect

Everything we had was great -- burrata salad, pasta, tiramisu were all done so well. Service was wonderful. Will be back.

Food is spectacular and so is the service. It is a jewel in northern Door County. We could not get a reservation but was able to eat at the bar.

We visited Inland at the recommendation of a colleague--and we were not sorry! In the past, we…read morealways visited a different local pizza place (not in Bailey's Harbor), but we need a change--and this was a really great change! They do not take reservations, but since we were there a full week before the 4th, we were able to get a table pretty quickly--even on a Saturday night. They have seating both outside and in--but it was chilly, so we sat inside. The dining room is light and bright, and one can see the water, though, it is an obstructed view--and really, were were there for the pizza. We first ordered the Simple Salad. The salad is really simple, but oh.my.god--the lemon parm dressing was SO GOOD--and I'm not so much a throw-a-ton-of-dressing-on-my-salad kind of person. We had leftover dressing and we took it back to cottage where we stay ("home" for the week). Our server also wrote down the ingredients so I can try and replicate it at home (the actual place where we live). We ordered the organic red sauce + mozzarella pizza and added roasted oyster mushrooms on half and castelvetrano olives on the whole thing. I mention this only because they didn't blink at all with our requests. In fact, they were great about that sort of thing. The first glass wine my server suggested I order, I didn't care for. She just got me a different glass of wine--and that was what we were charged for. More about that pizza--it was SO good. The olives added a nice salt, mushrooms were just perfect in that they provided that sort of meaty, non-meaty taste. Oh, and the crust--good god it was good. Not too thick or thin, dusted a bit with cornmeal on the bottom, light, but good chew. It was just perfect. Oh, and the water dispenser--on the bar, one serves themselves from a tap. They have three different kinds of water--still, sparkling, and one other that I cannot remember. Love that. The services was also, as I mention above, really attentive, but not pushy at all. I only have one suggestion for them. Many of the pizzas have sausage on them. We don't eat pork (not kosher, just appreciate the fact that they're smarter than the dog). It would be nice to have chicken as an option. We definitely visit them again when we're in Door Country again.

I visited this past weekend over the 4th and unfortunately had a really concerning experience with…read morewhat was supposed to be a gluten-free meal. I ordered the gluten-free Rosso pizza and specifically confirmed with my server that I was gluten free. At one point, the kitchen initially brought over my pizza, and when I double checked, they told me it was NOT gluten free. Their team then took it back to the kitchen to remake with a gluten free crust. After that, my dad and fiancé received their regular pizzas while mine took another 30 or so minutes to come out. They eventually stopped eating so I wouldn't have to eat my food alone, and by then their food was cold. There were also several other order issues during the meal, including the wrong salad being brought to our table after another long wait, which is not a huge deal (it was a holiday weekend and they were busy) but it felt like our entire order was miscommunicated. What led me to write this review is I'm quite certain that the "gluten-free" pizza I was ultimately served was not actually gluten free. For the next few days after eating it, I became very sick with symptoms consistent with gluten exposure, and it honestly impacted the remainder of my time in door county. What especially raised concern for me was that our server later sent us home with another gluten-free Rosso pizza as an apology for the wait times and order mix ups, and it looked dramatically different from the pizza I had just been served. The crust, texture, and overall appearance were completely different, which made me increasingly worried I had been served the wrong order. The "gluten free" pizza I had been served (in the image attached) looks identical to my dad's regular pizza (plate behind it) and nothing like the other GF pizza crusts in the reviews. I did notice this when our server finally brought over my pizza however she did confirm it was gluten-free. I understand restaurants get busy especially over holidays and mistakes happen, and I'm not trying to be harsh or accusatory. But for customers with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, this is a serious health issue, not a preference. I really hope the restaurant takes a closer look at its gluten-free procedures and communication between the kitchen and servers, because this experience was really disappointing. Inland also does not have an email posted on their website nor can you leave a message when calling, when I tried to discuss with them directly.
