Stopped here for dinner on our way off the Cape. Food is fine but beware if taking food to go that you ask for ketchup, tarter sauce, salt and pepper etc. because our order came with no condiments nor were we asked if we wanted any. Lobster salad roll was $26.00 fresh roll, good size chunks of lobster I did get a little of a salad preservative taste from the lettuce. Whole belly clam plate was good but without tarter sauce it was lacking. The medium sized French fries were coated with something, they were hot but I would have liked ketchup. I have eaten at Osterville Fish Too previously. In the past the food was decent. Today it wasn't even edible. The French fries and onion rings were the only things worth eating. They were accompanied by scallops and shrimp that seem to have been murdered in a fryer and left there for a long time to ensure they could not testify against the cook. I think this is the first time in my life I have thrown away shrimp and scallops and probably my last time at Osterville Fish Too The good news .... We stopped before our whale watch. I have always thought grab cakes sounded good but until I had Osterville fish too crab cakes the reality didn't match vision. These two meaty cakes were perfection! Decided to go here last moment because, being from a more urban area, we didn't realize that everything closes rather early on the Cape. We actually thought it was going to be more of a restaurant, but it ended up being a seafood shack. Alright cool. We browsed the menu and eventually decided on the fried calamari and two whole lobsters which came at a remarkably cheap $18 per lobster! The girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful, and told us to choose our seats, inside or outside, and she would bring the food to us (probably because it was off-season and there weren't really any other people around). So we chose outside, which we thought would be nice to enjoy the fine weather and the sunset. Unfortunately it ended up being extremely buggy and we moved inside, which they had no problem with. The calamari was nicely cooked, crispy, not too greasy with a nice fresh flavor. Our lobsters were both delicious and came with butter, bibs, shell crackers and wet-naps. Did take-out last night. Awful. $130 before tip for 4 people. Young woman behind the counter was nice enough, but my phone order was botched, which meant a second trip to pick up the overpriced (lousy) steamers ($25) for which I had been charged but hadn't been put in my bag -- or even prepared! I managed narrowly to avoid the "MP" fried clams -- $45 a plate! As I waited, I saw one of the larger lobsters in the tank use its unbanded crusher claw to rip the arm off another. I alerted the staff who hadn't noted the severed limbs on the floor of the tank. Stuff happens, but this place is overpriced and sub-standard compared to others nearby and in Hyannis which have better food and service and much less of a wait! Avoid. read more

He graciously walked down the drive way and steered us in the right direction. The food is yummy! Average of $10-15 per plate. The boiled lobster was running at $21 market price in August. I only need to say one thing. Bottom line: OFT is the epitome of lobster rolls!! I have to admit, I go to yelp like my life depended on it when it comes to finding great food, especially when I'm a tourist. PLEASE parents of young kids/babies deserve to eat a meal without their children sitting on their laps! PLEASE buy some high chairs. I promise they are not that expensive. It's refreshing to see a place still serving on picnic tables and paper everything. I ordered the clam chowder fries and a plate of fried clam bellies. The chowder fries had good flavor but it wasn't really what I was expecting to see. I thought it would be drenched in chowder but only a little bit of clam chowder was baked into the fries. It wasn't bad, I just didn't know what to expect. The clam plate could have definitely been larger. The clam bellies were small and the portion on the plate was on the smaller side as well. As a regular to Cobie's in Brewster, I didn't think it could get better, but I'm very glad I tried Osterville Fish Too. This is hands down the best fried seafood place I've been, and that's saying a lot because my summer is not complete until I've had some fried clam strips! My clam strips were perfectly crispy and not too greasy, and were paired with fresh cole slaw that wasn't smothered in mayo. And then there were the fries. They were some of the best fries I've had, crispy on the outside and soft inside. Yum! The clam chowder was delicious too, and service/seating were good. No lines when we went and we ate outside in their covered tent. I'll definitely be stopping there on my next trip to the Cape! read more

All of the batter on the food that was fried was nicely done. Light, flaky and crispy. Not greasy at all. The lobster roll was all fresh fish and very little mayo served on a hot dog style bun. It was very delicious and fresh. $19. I didn't share! Mum yum mum. We also got fried clams which were again fried lightly and nice and chewy on the inside. Kids ate hot dogs. They were very light in color, came with fries. I couldn't test out the hot dog because I was filled with sweet lobster love and did not want that feeling to leave. Located next to the whale watching departure zone, there is a parking lot that you can park in that fills up pretty quickly. People watch the tourists coming on and off the whale cruises. I think those cruises leave/arrive 9-12 and 2-6 so around those times the parking gets busy. Grab a picnic table outside in the back and then place your order at the outside window. The staff will bring your food out to you. There is an inside but we didn't go in. Only downside is that you are not sitting right on the water. You sit (outside) next to the parking lot. But after you eat take a stroll to the beach area that is super close to walk to and check out the local shells/sand/water. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for tasty seafood. My wife and I were on our honeymoon on the Cape and didn't feel like finding parking in Hyannis to eat lunch. Since we had some free time we took the drive to Barnstable to try out Osterville Fish Too and we couldn't be happier with that decision. We were there just before the beginning of the peak season (June 16th) on a cold and very windy day so there wasn't much of a crowd. I had the lobster roll, which was delicious. I normally eat Connecticut rolls, but this was amazing - large chunks of fresh lobster and just the right amount of mayo. My wife had the fish and chips - the fish was lightly breaded and delicious - far better than you'd expect for the price, not greasy/oily at all. If the weather were a bit more in our favor (and we had extra time) we would've brought along some beer or wine for the meal! This was well worth the drive and we will definitely be putting Osterville Fish Too on our "must visit" list for our next trip to the Cape! read more

We read the reviews before going and knew the lobster roll was expensive ($34) which, we're prepared to pay if it's good (even though this is literally a shack). LThe reviews said they were but honestly, they're not. The roll wasn't even nice, how do you get that wrong? Also, they don't have horse radish for the oysters ‍. They get two stars based on location (outdoor seating in quiet boating/beach area). Though it pains me to treat them with two, as I feel a lot of prime location restaurants think they don't have to try because they can make bank on passing trade. Could have gone for a nice filet mignon for the same price. Ugh. Boyfriend and I were starving when we came in on a hot afternoon. We had not eaten all day and we were so excited to try this place out because of the great reviews. It was the only restaurant around the area that had good reviews. In addition, it had outdoor seating with the view of the harbor. When we came in, there were a ton of fresh live lobsters and we knew we picked the right place to have our first meal in Cape Cod. My boyfriend had 2 pounds of lobsters and I had the clams with rice and a cup of clam chowder. The lobsters were overcooked and my boyfriend was so disappointed. He said they tasted chewy. They serve the lobsters with margarine which we thought was gross. Why not serve butter?! It can't be that much more expensive. The clams had a good taste to it, but it still had a lot of sand in it and I felt like I was eating sand and rice at times. I don't know if that's how they usually do it but I know clams are supposed to be soak in water or something to get rid of all the sand. Great thing about this place is it's super cheap.
