First time checking out this spot and it did NOT disappoint If you're craving legit mariscos, this place hits. Everything we ordered was straight up bomb. Started with the Ribeye Aguachiles and that combo was crazyyy--tender steak with that spicy, citrusy kick... super unique and packed with flavor. The marlin tacos were solid too--smoky, juicy, and loaded with flavor. Definitely a must-order. But the highlight for me was the torre de mariscos... stacked, fresh, and just hella satisfying. I had fish tacos and the large shrimp cocktail with avocado,purple onion cilentro,@least 20-25 huge shrimp inside,and they serve great packs of crackers too eat with the cocktail...it's a sweet saucy cocktail sauce...tho, I prefer it less sweet, so I added 1/2 the red spicy deliciously de Arbol 'HOT" salsa they serve with the chips to dip into when you first sit down! Use to come here a lot because the food was good and the prices were fair. However, after this last visit I realized the quality of their food isn't the same. The ceviche was a little too fishy. The octopus was very salty, we couldn't even eat it. We ended up throwing it away because the saltines could not be ignored. The salsas here are always delicious. It's been a while since I visited this location in La Puente. I used to go to the La Habra location and purposely avoided it due to their Rude wait staff! I decided to visit the location in La Puente, big mistake! We were a small group and besides having many empty tables the wait staff made us wait almost twenty minutes! The service here wasn't any better. I ordered their shrimp cocktail, hoping for a burst of flavor and freshness that I had been a custom to. Unfortunately, I was greatly disappointed! The shrimp tasted bland and had a rubbery texture, indicating they were far from fresh. The cocktail broth lacked any depth of flavor, leaving me wondering if it had been sitting out for too long. I decided to try the La Puente location keep in mind it's been over a year I've been staying away from this chain of restaurants and today they disappointed me again with the crappy salad and rice. It was served with the delicious shrimp, I also on the side got at the ceviche which was great as well but the salad and rice no good!!!! the solid was lukewarm like it's been sitting out all day along with the ranch served. I don't understand why this place only has 3 stars. I have been here at least 5 times and I never leave disappointed. Their micheladas are great and quite big. Their fish tacos are also big and tasty. Shrimp and octopus are generous and delicious. Empanadas are crispy and always fresh. Their ceviche is also very good but I do got to say they do stack it with fillers (extra tomatoes and onions) Would definitely recommend and would definitely keep coming back for their good food and service. read more

Since the last review I've left it has improved greatly and has become one of my favorite spots to dine at in my area. I still am fond of the Caldo De Camaron and The shrimp fajitas. When you dine- in there can sometimes be a wait but since its improvements a lot of staff help each other out and touch base with every patron. I typically go to the Colimas in Hacienda Heights but today I was in the area so I came with my dad. The food is good just like HH had a shrimp cocktail while my dad had two fish tacos. The fish tacos are so big you can make two tacos from one so I got to share one with my dad. I have been here on a few occasions and its typically good but the service here lacks the speed and attention that you get in HH. I started my order with a Diet Coke while my dad hot a regular Coke. When the waitress put down the tray with the two mason jars filled with soda, she gave us a look which we knew immediately that she did not know which was the Diet and which was regular. I immediately explained that i cannot take all the sugar in a regular soda but she assured us that i got the diet drink. My dad and I both laughed because we both knew she had no clue. Now many may ask, why didn't you just taste them but I can't taste the difference. Sad I know and that's why I usually don't order soda. Stick to water or ice tea. Anyways, the food was good but after our meal we sat for 20 minutes [they sat us up front because they were saving some tables in the back for a big group which didn't show up while we were there]. The restaurant is kind of set up oddly with a few tables in the reception area, where we ate. A left dining area and a right dining area [the main area]. Through the front seating area is a private seating area with a door. Its all chopped up.
