The staff here are always super friendly, and as Stuart pointed out, they are always keen to up sell and cross sell. I must admit I've been caught by this on a few occasions though. Tied into Coles supermarkets for discounts, you can now get a whopping 16c a litre off if you do your shopping at Coles. Personally I'm a dyed in the wool fan of Woolworths, but my wife shops Coles so we get discounts for both. The upgrade provided more pumps, with a better layout, and a whole shiny new store inside. The staff upsell as hard as every petrol station out there, they make their money from the ancillaries you buy - although how offering me MORE discount with a $5 purchase makes them any money on an 80 litre tank befuddles me. I smile, nod, and decline, give my 16c a litre discount docket and head off into the sunset, but I appreciate the smile they give me when they ask.

Well, it will reduce the amount of build up in your motor. Have you ever seen those smoky cars driving around? Sometimes that is because of less refined dirty diesel. So, that is why I fill up at BPs. I also get a whole bunch of Virgin Velocity points when I fill up too, so that is a bonus I guess. This BP here is in an awkward spot. It is set up on the intersection of Magill and Portrush. Why is it awkward? Well, the only entry points are from the heading east side Magill Road and the heading south side of Portrush Road. If you are on the other lanes, there is no turn point to get into the station. So essentially what that means is this station suits people heading out from the City or going south on Portrush. I think that is the best way of describing it. But, it is the only BP on my way home from the City, so I generally fill up here. As for what is in this BP, there are general household emergency supplies. Nothing special. There is not a whole lot of food here. Apart from junk sort of stuff. But, there is a ATM which is handy to know if you need cash on the run. Last thing to mention is that the pumps here are kind of old. So they are a little slower than most. But, they are ok.

I don't mean the standard level of friendliness you'd expect to experience at any other store; the staff at BP Erindale has some of the nicest people I know. The range of items available in store isn't extensive, but adequately meets your basic needs. The prices are above those of nearby supermarkets, but they do have the occasional special deal (usually on canned drinks or snacks). As part of the On The Run franchise, this service station is open 24 hours a day. As such, it's a convenient place to go when there's nothing else open and you're either suffering from junk food cravings, have run out of milk or bread, or are desperately in need of toiletries and personal care items. When I'm low on petrol, regardless of where I am, I'll do my best to hold off on buying fuel before I reach Erindale. The reason I do this is because it's an absolute pleasure talking to the staff. Even in the early hours of the morning, when people are expectedly at their grumpiest, the employees here are always in high spirits. On many occasions I've had long, meaningful chats with the people behind the counter and they've shared some great stories. I'm equally happy to converse and provide some human interaction, as I can't imagine working the graveyard shift at a petrol station would be overly exciting. If you're lucky and you go while Yogesh is working, stick around and have a chat with him - he's an excellent guy and he'd be thankful for making his day a little more interesting!

They always seem to be having choccy specials here, which are impossible to resist at the hours (in the middle of the night) I find myself here. Even though by the next morning I've worked out that my special deal cost me double what I'd pay at the supermarket - damnit! For those looking, I get the vibes here that it's quite the pick-up place, you'll see many furtive glances in the direction of you or other patrons. In a nutshell - Adelaides version of it happened one night!

The coffee is better than most petrol stations (it's not great but it's good when you're they're for a quick snack and pick-me-up). Service is always really nice and they have a fairly well-stocked grocery/convenience section.

The reason I don't recommend this service station is the hiked up petrol prices. A few times I…read morepulled in there and filled up, only to drive around the bend and see other places advertising for up to 10 cents less a litre. After that I wised up and I never go here for petrol anymore. Sometimes it's on par with its competitors, but I've not seen it at a better rate even once. And I didn't have cash. Great. They have an atm inside though, which - of course - charges you a ridiculous amount of extra fees. Back at the till, I then found out that they charge nearly $19 for my smokes, which I can get for $16 pretty much everywhere else. I certainly won't be back.
