Sometimes, it's the little touches that make a real difference you know? This is one reason I like…read moreAntalya. I must confess that Turkish / Greek food isn't my favourite type, but I do like it for a change now and again. Once you are seated at Antalya and your drinks order has been taken, warm strips of a flat bread will be brought to your table, alone with dishes of olives and pickled peppers (the ones that look like large chillies, but are not spicy as such). These are free, and you can nibble on them as you decide on your order. There are a wide range of hot and cold starters, with my favourite being a 'mezze' selection...a small plate with around 8 or 10 items on it, e.g. hummous, taramasalata, some kind of bean salad, a meatball, stuffed vine leaf, a 'burek' (sort of a cheese samosa) and some other bits. Want some more free bread to mop things up with? Just ask. Main courses consist of a lot of lamb and chicken dishes, with some fish and vegetarian options too. My recommendation is the Iskendar kebab, a dish containing a mixture of meats in a tomatoey sauce, served over pitta bread. If you have room for dessert, the trolley appears to be well stocked with cakes and traditional Turkish baklava...very sweet pastry affairs, sometimes nutty, and dripping with syrup or honey. Too sweet for my tooth, but each to their own. If you decide not to have a dessert, your meal will still be rounded off by a free shot of a fruit liqueur, usually on offer is banana, cherry, strawberry, and possibly one other. Also, a plate of free fruit is served which is great to cleanse the palate, but also great as a free alternative to dessert, if you didn't fancy one of the heavy offerings from the trolley. The staff are attentive without being overbearing, and they are very friendly. One waiter overheard my brother saying how much he liked the apple tea they served there, and he went into the kitchen and came out with a pack of the stuff for him to take home. I don't know if this is a family run restaurant, but it certainly has that feel. When the bill comes, if you've had a couple of drinks then don't expect any change from a 20 if you had a starter and a main course. I never feel cheated when paying the bill here, as I do feel that the little 'extras' add a lot of value to the dining experience. The ambience is relaxed and friendly, great for couples, families or group bookings...a good all-rounder in this respect.

Mum and I paid a visit on a Monday lunchtime. It was quiet and there were a few staff on. But that…read moredidn't mean we were seated straight away, no sir. We were left stood at the entrance for a good while before someone came over. We were shown to a table and handed a menu - no explanation of any offers that were going on, but as it happens we'd already seen a poster for 5 tapas for £12 outside anyway, it put my 2-4-1 tapas voucher I had ready on my iPhone to shame! We were given adequate time to decide what we wanted, then our order for food and drink was taken at the same time. Drinks arrived swiftly and the food followed some five minutes later. Everything was cooked beautifully, not overdone like I've had before, and five tapas between the two of us was more than enough to fill us up. The bill came to a very respectable £16. A bargain lunch, some would say! The service could be a bit quicker in regards to showing people to tables and the manner could be a bit less brusque. Also I'd prefer it if I'd been told about the offers - had we not seen a poster outside, we'd have gone for the 2-4-1 offer I'd had ready anyway - every other La Tasca I've been to has always said what offers they have available. Still, I'd go back. It was a pleasant environment (screaming child aside) and the food was delicious!

We started off with bread and olives. The olives were proper Spanish olives (not that tinned rubbish that some places give you) and the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was plentiful. The chicken croquettes left something to be desired. The fried white fish was crispy, light, and not greasy at all. The meatballs were plentiful and tasty. The vegetarian paella was the best I have ever had! The cheesy aubergines in red sauce was delicious. There were many vegetarian options. The service was great and friendly, our waitress was more than helpful. The food came out reasonably quick as well. Both the serving plates and the food was hot (very important). The staff tips are not shared - the waitress did share hers with the cook staff, which I thought was fair. All in all a great experience! I would definetly recommend this place, and intend to visiting again.

Before Med Food Co, I found myself at a chain sandwich shop, so this has been a nice change for me. When they first opened, this was a takeaway place only... now they have a few tables and chairs so you can have a seat while you eat. The menu isn't massive, but sometimes simplicity is better. The food is delicious and I've not had a bad lunch yet. They offer a light breakfast menu with pastries, porridge, and omelette wraps. For lunch you can have a wrap, a rice box, or a salad box. While it isn't on the website, they also have a deal where you can have a half and half wrap... last week I tried a half chicken and half Halloumi wrap. While I like the wraps, I really like the rice box. Today it was a Lamb Kofte Rice Box. 2/3s of the box is filled with buttered rice, 1/3 fresh slaw (red cabbage, white cabbage, and cucumbers with a slice of lemon... no mayo), and the rice is topped with your choice of meat (or Halloumi or Falafel). There is also a choice of three different sauces: mint yogurt sauce, chili sauce, and/or barbeque red pepper sauce. If that isn't enough they have wonderful desserts: custard tarts, baklava, brownies, and lovely meringues. Today they the meringues were Rosewater flavoured and were a beautiful pink and purple colour. They also have specialty items that you can buy... Turkish salsa, olives, feta, peppers, spices, Apple tea, and Turkish coffee. You can call ahead if you are in a hurry and they are now available on Deliveroo. The most expensive item on the menu is £8, so you can definitely get lunch for under £10 and there are a number of options for under £5... so very much a good value!

The options here are great, especially for vegetarians or vegans. They do wraps, burgers and rice boxes, with plenty of choice from meat, humous, or falafel options. My personal recommendation is the falafel wrap with sweet potato fries as a side, so delicious! Every thing on the menu is great value for money, with no meal option exceeding £10.
