Great old school diner. Seems family owned and operated. Had the Haystack which his the spot. Hash browns, biscuits, sausage patty, eggs, gravy. Hella good.

The grill, deep fryers and TV.

If you want good old fashioned diner food, this is the place to go. Friendly staff and owners will treat you right. The booths were installed in the 50's and are now a little snug for the average American.

So, this place feels like you went back in time. It's an old school diner with a few new things. They accept cards now, btw. The food is definitely diner food, but it's filling and tastes good. I could eat their pancakes without syrup all day. I love a pancake that isn't bland. My 2 pancakes and 4 sausage links were filling and I literally could not make myself eat my last two bites of pancake. The haystack my fiancé got covered the plate and he had to leave 3 bites on the plate because it was so filling. The service is not bad. Especially since we chose to sit at the counter. It's not a big place, so I don't suggest coming with a big group, but if you need filling, good food at a good price this is the place. The menu is not huge, so it makes it easier to narrow down if you want breakfast or lunch. The bill came out to be $19 and some change before tip. Of course we'll be back. It's a Rantoul staple to eat at Ott's.

Awesome biscuit and gravy. One of the best I've had, and I'm a big B&G snob! Place is a bit small but very casual. Excellent service.

Super affordable and tastes homemade. Seating is not the best, but it's vintage so they are more snug

We LOVED Maple & Yolk! We found it from Google Maps suggestion when looking for a place to eat…read moreafter an appointment at the doctor and wanting to shop at Costco. So the location was perfect right off I74! We went on a weekday around 10 am. As we pulled in, the parking lot had a lot of cars and it being a weekday and not a holiday, right off this seemed like a great sign! As we exited the car we were already hit with great scents as we approached the front door! The building had been easy to spot and was cute! The interior design was nice and in excellent condition. I really hate seeing places with like water damaged ceilings it's just gross. This place was in tip top shape! We were seated right away in a nice booth but had passed a long seating area which I'm sure gets used a lot during busier times and it's nice to see that they have seating for waiting customers. The booth seating was comfortable. The environment was peaceful enough not too quiet but not too loud. We were attended to perfectly by the server who answered any questions we had and politely took our order. She allowed a substitute for my boyfriend and when I had picked pancakes with two sides she pointed out a breakfast dish to me that was better priced. I really appreciated that as I had not see that combination. My boyfriend ordered biscuit and gravy and a fruit cup with coffee as his beverage. His coffee stayed filled. It seemed a little odd that it was just one biscuit but the dish normally came with hash browns not sure if that drowns in gravy? But his dish had TONS of gravy and he LOVED it! He really wanted to pick up the plate and lick every drop of gravy but he resisted!! The fruit was incredible as my dish came with strawberries so I got to experience it too. No idea where they get it but it was incredibly fresh and so tasty it definitely did not seem like grocery store fruit.he had scrambled eggs too I almost forgot. I opted for two pancakes (you could get 3) and bacon (it came with 3 thick slices perfectly cooked and they also offer turkey bacon but I got real), oh and I had the strawberries as a topping! Fresh creamy butter and a tall, hot maple syrup dispenser was provided. Oh I also had scrambled eggs! Cage free. Everything was delicious! So good! The server checked in with us enough. I shared one piece of bacon and some pancake with my boyfriend which he used to help get that gravy! My boyfriend cleared his plate except for a little fruit but I couldn't finish my 2 eggs and as I mentioned I gave my boyfriend some of my bacon and pancake so it was perfect. We felt the pricing was fair in today's market and for how much we enjoyed it. We definitely will go back!

The location is a little unusual, being part of an old mall turned into an artsy shopping hub. There is a door outside of the mall to access the restaurant directly. Two notable dishes from our visit were the breakfast quesadilla (soooo good!) and the biscuits with mushroom gravy. The service was slow, however, it was a Sunday. We loved the place so much we booked a reservation for our next visit down to see our son at U of I. The restaurant also has a coffee bar where you can get special coffee drinks, and some random handheld foods. The seating area is eclectic and inviting. As you can tell, I think this place is pretty great!

It may be my fault for ordering biscuits and gravy from a place like this, but it was on the menu and it's my go to. It was not good. The biscuits were hard, dry and very dense. They were large, but that may have made the issue worse. The gravy was ok, but not good enough to overcome the biscuits. I do not recall ever leaving a dish of B&G half eaten. But it happened here. If I ever stay at the hotel next door and try this place again I will try something else.
