My only complaint is to try to avoid showings in theatre 4 as that screen is pretty small, but most of the time that is reserved for movies that have been running for more than opening week. The Cool thing is that even with popular Opening Weekend views you can always get a Seat...So before traveling to Des Moines Metro theaters maybe give this Classic Gem a shot and being on the Town Square you can get a great meal or ever stop into Peacetree Microbrew for a pre~movie Brewsky...Well I just planned out my next Date Night!!!

Everything about this place makes you aware that the Fleur and its staff give a damn about their product in every way. Excellent customer service, three terrific theatres with great screens and sound, clean restrooms, a fun and colorful lobby, incredible artwork, and superb popcorn! All of this makes for a good overall experience. It's a movie lover's venue. Get there early for their trailers highlighting local events, causes, and films, and get on their mailing list for upcoming highlights. Film pricing is cheaper than most, and vast indie film offerings exist. Shout-out to Mallory and Dev for their attention to detail and kindness. It made a huge difference and impacted us after a long, cold day.

Having worked at movie…read moretheaters throughout college I can tell you that the pressure for the big movie theaters to play the biggest movies that will sell out or bring it the largest crowd is, is immense. Those theaters rarely take any kind of risk with a small movie that may or may not be the next Hollywood blockbuster. Honestly, they really are a blockbuster hit but are often really good movies that have a voice which should be heard. That is where Film Scene comes in. It fills the void created by monstrous movie theaters which are more concerned with the quality of their heated reclining seats as opposed to the quality of the movie. Now, you should know, when you go to see a movie at this theater, do not expect super comfortable seats. There are some good seats in the back of the theater but the closer you get to the screen, the worse they are, so be sure you get there early. The concession stand is reasonably priced with a good selection of candy, decent popcorn, and a wonderful selection of beer. I would also highly recommend the rooftop viewing of any movie they show. It is really awesome up there. Get some tickets, grab some popcorn, twizzlers, a cold beer, and enjoy a really good movie lovingly presented by true film lovers.

My husband and I caught a movie tonight we have been wanting to see and got a tub of popcorn and 2 sodas for $10 (free refills). The theater and bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained. The staff were great too! Definitely coming back. Tuesdays are bargain days for students too- $5 tickets and free 46 bag of popcorn with purchase of a soda.
