Treated like an inconvenience instead of a guest... I've been a regular at Outback Lodge and have always enjoyed celebrating special occasions here. Unfortunately, my most recent experience left me deeply disappointed. My husband and I arrived, asked about a table for two, and were initially told to wait. While waiting, another staff member (who later identified himself as the chef) abruptly told us there was no space. When I politely asked if we could be accommodated for just an hour in case of upcoming reservations, his response was dismissive and condescending. Instead of simply reiterating that they were full, he insisted on 'showing' us inside as if to mock the idea that we would even ask. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. I completely understand when a restaurant is at capacity, but there is a big difference between delivering that message with courtesy versus making guests feel foolish for even inquiring. It's disheartening to have this experience at a place I've enjoyed in the past, and I hope the management takes customer service more seriously. read more

Outback has always been a reliable place for me in my time of need, and love coming here to meet friends, have beer or margaritas and eat the city's best wings! - Location, location, location!! Great meeting point or hang out before people head home for the night. One of the entrance/exit goes out directly to the Stadelhofen train stations! - Chicken wings!!! They tout theirs is the best in town. So far I think they are better than Hooters by a margin. If you are really hungry they even have an unlimited special wings for about 30 bucks on Monday nights. But if you are not pigging out it's probably better you just eat an order of wings , cheaper and less dangerous to waist line! - Decent bartenders. I love the cool female bartenders here. And they make a mean strawberry margarita. Love it! - Lots of beers. It's an Australian place so it won't specialize in what some German loving beer drinkers like... but lots of variety and fun to choose. They also serve pitchers, a plus for those seeking deals for big parties. - Decent food. Good mix of fun Aussie food. Can't go wrong w their burger. - Fun atmosphere. You won't fall asleep in here. Can tend to be popular w those who look a bit underaged or of age. But older crowds are mixed in too. - Caters big parties and I have even hosted birthday parties there. There is also a special section at the back to facilitate this so book ahead to reserve! - Average Zurich prices. If others complain it is probably bc they are comparing to non Zurich or just not willing to pay Zurich prices. But that's the reality here - going out to eat is a higher cost of living here in Zurich! I have adapted to Swiss living, been here forever already! read more

The Outback Lodge is my meeting point with friends befor haven our Movie Nights in Corso or the other cinema behind Central. Actually I never had food there, cause everytime we met, even if we have more than 1 hour time, the local is always so full that was not even possible to get a place. Incredible!! So let me give my feedback just basing on service and drinks :-) Location is top, near Stadelhofen station. Local looks very funny and freindly. They have no dark weissbier (that I love) but a lot of other drinks :-) Toilet donwstair are not the cleanes I've ever seen but it's ok for a short stop there before heading to the cinema. It is and will remain my meeting point... hope to have soon the change to get a seat and try some of the typical Australian food there. read more

Yes it is expensive but it's Zurich and what isn't expensive there! It's a great place for a big group event. Several of my friends have had birthday dinners there and it worked great! Be sure to reserve seats in advance though because it gets packed! The food is incomparable to anything in Zurich or maybe I'm Switzerland! The waiters are all really cool and speak good English or are Australian! The service is slow but it's well worth the wait! read more

Went for dinner on the 31st of December, the place was packed but we made a reservation. The service was quick, very attentive and accommodating. The food came around really quick as well. We only just finished our starter and the main already came, so, as much as I appreciated their speed, this felt a little too rushed. Their desert choices weren't as spectacular as the rest of the menu, but they had great cocktails. We had the kangaroo steak, definitely recommend, it was super tender and tasty, and a good portion size. One minor downside is that we (2 people), had to sit at a table with two strangers, which is apparently the concept of the pub but I hadn't expect it. Overall definitely recommend, good food, nice staff, atmosphere is fun, and regular prices for Zurich standards. read more

The fries are very good and the all you can eat hot wings aren't bad either but service horrific ! The first time we came we really enjoyed it. Decided to go back again for the all you can eat wings and were extremely disappointed in the service. The food and drinks were brought fairly promptly compared to the previous time, as the place wasn't as busy, but the waitress was very reserved and rude, like we were annoying her by just being there. Fairly enjoyable until the second round of chicken. She came to yell at us for not finishing all of the food. This waitress argued with some of the members from our group, belittled and raised her voice at us! I was shocked. She was rude to us until the second we walked out the door, even after leaving her a small, unnecessary and undeserved tip to which she sarcastically retorted "thank you soooo much". Maybe she had a bad day but that is no way to treat friendly and paying customers! Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Customer is definitely not king here. read more

They have Australian dishes such as emu, crocodile or ostrich steaks. But there are other food too like veggies, different salads and fish. This restaurant is located in Zurich city centre near Stadelhofen train station and it's decoration remember Australian atmosphere. My friends liked the barbecued ostrich steak. My Red Snapper fish dish wasn't special as i can get this fish in other restaurants too. I missed shark burger which they offered once. The Outback Lodge is mostly crowded and loud! So, it's no place for quiet talks! The service was friendly and the prices were on average. read more
