We opted for the lounge area as the seat offered to us there was better to our preference. The tables are packed quiet tightly which i dont like personally but i get it. That tidbit aside it is definitely a cool environment. Service was really nice and the food we ordered was great. I presume it's the same menu as J Theodore so I'm going to have to try that now for a more restaurant style meal. This is a cool place to hang out and bring friends imo. Since we don't really drink we'll probably end up at the restaurant next time as it's not easy to eat on tiny tables. It's a bar/lounge after all.

I asked for a chair to be put on the side of the table even if it was tight. It took me asking 3 times. Not sure what the host didn't understand the first time as he just stood at the podium doing nothing. Secondly, this is a speak easy. The door to the entrance should have been closed and opened upon phone call entry. It's what makes the presentation. It was wide open, so no point in the phone booth. Again, an issue with the host bar. Other than that, our server was a beautiful long haired/blue eye girl who was so attentive. She made some recommendations I appreciated. The food was amazing! We all shared the portobello tacos, steak frites with sweet potato truffle fries, Brussels sprouts, Asian tuna salad, and ended with the Kahlua cake. It was all fabulous. And whomever they had as entertainment on 2/21 was incredible. Great voice. Ambiance is why I've come in the past and why I'll come again. I just hope this situation with reservations won't happen again, otherwise that will be my last time. At this age we come to enjoy a place not get squashed like sardines.

I lucked out and found this place; came there on a Monday night and it wasn't busy at all. Their smoking area was small, but laid out extremely well with leather chairs and a large TV screen. The humidor was also rather small, and several of the cigars were pricier than I've seen. Where this place takes the cake is the ambiance, service and whiskey selection. My hostess, Mary, was extremely attentive and provided good recommendations on the food and beverages. And regarding the whiskey - their selection was massive. Mary recommended a Texas bourban (Unbendt BiB) that was delicious. It was so good that I brought a bottle back to Chicago. Highly recommend this place for a cigar smoker looking for a good meal + cigar in a quiet/intimate environment.

We had a few appetizers to share, miscellaneous entrees and even dessert. Two diners split two entrees and they brought it out with two smaller portions of risotto and a nicely bifurcated filet. My filet was delicious and although it was a tad over my desired temp, it didn't hit the next level. And that lemon cake for dessert was worth feeling too full afterwards. It was so well cooked, so tender, I could have sliced it with a spoon (the knife they brought me, clinked very loudly against my plate, it went through so easily). Everything else we ordered, from appetizer to sides to dessert, was equally well prepared (and presented). To be fair, it was not inexpensive, but we have spent similar amounts (or more), at "highly recommended" places, and felt rushed, and had steaks that were of a much lower quality. The salmon was also well done with crispy edges and a slab of butter that melted right over it great flavor. Hoping that butter option is available for the steak because that's next on my list. Sides were solid too. Only thing I wasn't big on was the fries. They're super thin, so they were crispy but had a slightly hard, borderline stale texture.
