This is by no means fact, but personal opinion... right off, after having eaten many a meal a various Outback Steakhouses across the country, I have never been convinced of, nor delighted in almost any offerings of the much-revered steakhouse. Yet returning to prove myself wrong. Recently visiting one these Aussie wannabe restos, the Outback Steakhouse - Tempe, my mind has unfortunately not changed. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, and I won't criticize folks who like it, to each his/her own tastes, but in spite of their enormous marketing expense, since opening their doors in Tampa and now closing in on 40 years of age, having their ups and downs financially, in my opinion, almost every other corporate lead, chain and franchise steakhouse bunch in America may be a better choice. The Bloomin' Onion don't do enough and not a draw! None of the menu offerings are very exceptional, there flavors aren't extraordinary, their prices barely equitable, their offerings not singular and, last but not least, not much exudes exceptionality to others! Somehow they have not learned or benefitted from their offsprings Carrabba's, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and I wish they would. Thus, it is virtually impossible nowadays to not find conglomerates operating restaurants that can actually provide 1) amazing service: 3.5 , 2) excellent attention to detail especially in hospitality: 3.0 , 3) cleanliness, hygiene and comfort in their décor, amenities and lavatories: 4.0 , 4) an abundant and/or varied food and/or product menu: 4.0 , 5) consistently appetizing offerings: 3.5 , 6) a sincere customer service: 4.0 , 7) unique, innovative or specialized menus: 3.0 , 8) value and price of meals: 3.5 , and most of all, 9) the inert desire of one wanting to return, again and again for the experience gained: 3.5 . These are some if not most of what my basic requirements are when visiting one of these establishments each time. My wife and I, although not professional reviewers, are connoisseurs of excellent foods whether a fine upscale cuisine, middle of the road common eats, or a low-end fast-food joint. In this way, I have developed a to-the-point method for determining the personal worthiness of each establishment visited as noted in my opening. Simplified, each requisite noted for the establishment visited best scored by my highest score offered. This Outback Steakhouse - Chandler scores a 3.55 of a potential 5.0 - slightly above average for me.

Our Sever, faith, was such a gem. She was so nice and attentive. I ordered the 6oz outback cut with loaded mashed potatoes and a house salad. And blooming petals for an appetizer (always delicious!). The seasonal drink was a "platypus punch" that was delicious and cute. Came with a little "egg" to keep. We also Had a Carmel skillet cookie for dessert, but it wasn't warm. I'm used to the cookies being warm in skillets

The food was good. I wouldn't recommend the chili, its super salty. The manager came over to apologize because other customers complained about it too. They stayed on top of our needs and had good service.

Outback customer service is unmatched!! I super appreciate the call I received from the restaurant. They were very apologetic. I'd definitely be back!!

We had a weird experience at another location and that manager provided us with some credits to come back. We decided to check out the Chandler location instead, and was pleasantly surprised with the service they provided. Our waitress Jacklyn was attentive, friendly, and overall a great addition to this location. My fiance was shocked at how good his filet mignon tasted. It needed a bit of A1, but it was cooked well & very tender. The drinks were very consistent at this location, and we highly recommend the smoked old fashioned. My only suggestion would be to not burn the coconut flakes on the coconut shrimp. I was unable to taste the coconut because they over fried them. However, all of the food and drinks exceeded our expectations.

It was my husbands birthday and he wanted steak . Went and got him a nice spread which includes Kookaburra Wings, bone in ribeye, ribs. Sides were salad ., chili., Mac and cheese and fried mushrooms. This will feed us for a few days. Great food.

Service was good. Chicken was very tasty. Little dry but very good still. I came before and had it and loved it. I would recommend this.

Tried the $14.99 menu. Was bummed that the steak is $20.99 now. Got the chopped blue cheese salad which was an add on of $2.99. Nothing is a bargain anymore. Food was fresh and tasted great! The bread is always good.

Went here for lunch. In a word the meals were horrible. We ordered their famous blooming onion. It came drenched in oil. The outer onion pedals we're ok but the whole thing sat in a pool of fry grease. Wife had the lunch size outback chicken with a a side of Caesar salad. The chicken dish picture in the menu looked wonderful. Hers was terrible it was about 3 inches long and super dry. It sat on the middle of the plate with absolutely nothing else. Looked like a tiny raft in middle of a lake. It tasted bad and appeared to have been prepared long ago even though we were there in the opening hour. My so called potato soup looked like lumpy school paste. Seemed prepared with chicken bullion and corn starch. I could not finish it. Waitress was good and was polite. The decor was dated but clean thus the stars We will never return

We ordered curbside a few days ago, seamlessly on the app. It said it was ready at 4:30pm. I showed up at 4:40pm and waited patiently as the sign indicated to "wait in the car." I also had a sleeping toddler with me which is why I chose curbside. At 4:50 I began calling the restaurant and nobody answered! Eventually a nice gal answered and said she'd let the manager know I was waiting. At 5:05pm someone finally came out and brought the soups and app we had ordered. Clearly they had been sitting in the bag awhile as no sooner than I put it in my car and attempted to move the bag from the front to the back, a soup steamed through the bottom, spilling on my floorboard. It was a poor experience all around.

Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! New food menu tomorrow too?! What?! I was almost tempted to back today to get more of their amazing dishes from the main menu!! Thank you Cat for the amazing hospitality! I learned so much about Gaea in one afternoon too :D Love it. We had to wait about 10 minutes until we were seated. It is loud in the restaurant, but not horrible. It was a little difficult to hear our server. I believe her name was Rose. Hubby got water & beer. I got water & Tito's & cranberry juice. They definitely were a heavy pour. I wish they would give you a stir sick to stir the mixed drinks because I had to stir mine. I ended up using my knife to stir it. We ordered the dinner rolls. They were really good yeast rolls. I do wish they were served with butter, but they were good. Hubby ordered the beef ribs since we've never had beef ribs & they come with Carolina Gold sauce, which we love. I read in reviews that the sauce was spicy. They must have changed the recipe because I don't do spicy at all, & the sauce was not spicy to me. My level of spicy is Taco Bell mild. The sauce was really good. Hubby liked his ribs, but wouldn't get them again. They were super tender, but a bit fatty. There wasn't as much meat on the ribs as you would think. I got the crab cakes. I switched my side to a loaded baked potato. There was no charge to switch. The crab cakes were really good, There is no filler, but a crispy panko on top. I was disappointed in my baked potato because it was hot or even warm. I also had shell pieces in both of my crab cakes. This is the reason for only 4 stars. They gave us a card, a complimentary box of macaron cookies, & put a message on the board wishing us a happy 33rd anniversary as we left. The service was good, & the food was good. Due to the price we will only come for special occasions. We don't typically spend $180 with tip for a meal regularly.

We had a few hiccups but she was very apologetic and nice about it. We ordered the meatball Ferris wheel, kids cheese pizza, and hot Sicilian pizza. I thought it was really cool how the Ferris wheel actually spun. I did think the polenta would be a bigger portion and served on the side. (They put the polenta in each meatball cup) The meatballs were a good size and tasted pretty good. One of them was topped with Calabrian chili and it was really good. It may have been their monthly special. The kids pizza was a good size for our toddler and you could tell it wasn't frozen cheese pizza. The cheese was good and I like that it comes with a drink. I think it also comes with a dessert but our server didn't offer it and we didn't think we needed it. They did bring the pizza out piping hot and considering it's for a kid I would have appreciated if they let it cool a bit instead of bringing it fresh out the oven. The pizza was amazing and had such good flavor. I loved the ricotta and hot honey. I just wish it was a little bigger, but with the meatballs it was more than enough for two people. We don't eat Italian often but would definitely be back when we do.
