After my original review and after providing my contact information to the email address given by Bar Louie's representative, I never received a single call or email. Not once. What bothered me then--and still bothers me now--is not just getting sick, but the gap between what was said publicly and what was done privately. Posting "we hold ourselves to the highest standards" and "we are incredibly concerned" looks good online, but it means nothing if there is zero follow-up with the guest who reported a serious health issue. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What defines a business is how they respond when something goes wrong. In this case, the response was purely performative. I still tell friends about this experience, as my very first food poisoning in my life (and in United States as it was not just the only one, unfortunately), not out of spite, but as a cautionary story: pay attention not only to what businesses say publicly, but what they actually do when there's a real issue.

I sat in the restaurant to watch the 3rd place World Cup game. I ordered their House Favorites entree, Pork Osso Buco. My first reaction when the dish arrived was that the pork shank was overcooked. It had a dry rub marinate that gets overly crisp, but the meat itself was relatively tender and fell off the bone. It actually was much better than it looked. I guess I am not use to osso buco served dry with no sauce. The mashed potatoes with gravy was average and the green beans were blanched too short of a time that they were served almost raw. Service was good for a busy place and prices overall were reasonable. Portions are fairly generous. Miller's Ale House is a great place to meet, drink, and watch a game. As far as entrees, though, the food quality and preparation are as expected for a casual chain sports restaurant.

She only came back after a long wait, and not because she was checking on us. When the food eventually arrived, it was underwhelming at best. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, which was bland and came with only a few small shreds of chicken mixed in, definitely not what you would expect from a nicer Italian restaurant. We also did not receive bread until we specifically asked, drinks were never refilled, and our server never once checked on us. After finishing our meals, we sat with empty plates and glasses for about 30 minutes before a busser, not our server, finally cleared the table. We then waited another 15 to 20 minutes before flagging down someone else to order dessert. That person only took one order and walked away without addressing the rest of the table. Eventually, flagged down another staff member who took our full dessert order, but after waiting another 30 minutes with nothing arriving, we decided to leave. The overall attitude from the staff was indifferent at best, and it genuinely felt like no one cared about the customer experience. Even when we spoke to the manager, there was little sense of concern or urgency. It was a very strange interaction. The only redeeming part of the evening was that, after significant pushback, a portion of our bill was discounted. Still, the entire experience lasting nearly three hours was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would not return or recommend this place.

Our server Hank has been taking care of us for 15+ years. Tonight he went above and beyond to make our dinner memorable. His attention to detail and menu suggestions never miss! He let me in on a secret to ordering our 12oz filets medium well, ask for easy char! The steaks were so tender and juicy! Hank also suggested we should try the charred broccolini, and we could not have been happier that we did. Such a tasty wonderful sauce (ask for extra!). From the salad to the sides, everything exceeded our expectations. When the meal ended, Hank came by with a camera and snapped a picture of us, only to return to the table with a framed keepsake photo wishing my husband a Happy Birthday.
