Had drinks with the family and ordered food--everything was great. The waitress was very attentive, and the ambience was nice. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to.

Most of us have been to Outback at one time or another. This one turned out to be one of my favorite. A nice peaceful ambiance with excellent service (thanks Mary), beautiful decor, impeccable timing and delicious food. The new Expresso Ribeye had great marbling and flavor. The Onion Soup was particularly scrumptious with the aid of the bread and cheese which added depth of flavor. Even the salad hit the spot and I like the roll as well. A very pleasant lunch experience on a hot and dreary day. A nice pick me up. It was not crowded. The place is large, tons of free parking with easy access.

I literally just come here for the blooming onion. It's the best. I ordered to go and it was ready so quickly!

From time to time you'll go into an establishment and really have enjoyed your meal, or maybe their service was exceptional, maybe their bartenders even made that one drink just the way you like it...but at the Carrollwood Outback... you will have that experience every...single... time. Why is that you ask? I'll tell you why. From the moment you walk in from the parking lot...you're taken care of. They boast an absolutely impeccable front of house staff. For example, I don't think I've ever once even touched the door before being greeted with a warm welcome. And boy do they get you seated in no time! Always on their A game, extremely friendly, polite as can be, and will do whatever is necessary to accommodate your party. In my case, my family and I prefer to take a spot at the bar where we can get a good look at their beautiful TV's to watch our Tampa Bay Sports teams all year long. You'll have a great view of the vast beer selection they have on tap as well as their expansive liquor and wine selections. They boast a large variety of your domestic beers and imports, as well as your craft beers and IPA's.. if that suits your fancy. I'm more of a top shelf margarita guy ;) The service behind the bar is second to none in the Tampa Bay Area. This group truly feels like family every time we step into the restaurant. They notice the small things before you even think of them. Highly effective communicators, they make sure you are comfortable, and most importantly taken care of. It's not just any other chain where you'll sit and wait 20 minutes for a drink to be poured. No way. You can leave a comment on here if that ever happens and I'll go buy you a beer. And I mean that, I've been coming to this Outback for years upon years and I've never had the dreaded thought- "what is taking them so long?". That just does not happen. Special shout-out to Ridge, one of the best bartenders in town, and also one of the best people I've ever met. Keep up the hard work back there. These people are driven by the best management in the business. Every good team is spearheaded by a great leader. Our very own proprietor Tim does a remarkable job with this establishment and that is why it has been a staple in our lives for many years now. He does everything the right way and steers the ship in the direction it needs to go day in and day out. It's no walk in the park to do what he does but he makes it look EASY! We are extremely grateful he has given us a home away from home in this Outback. Will all that being said... you go to a restaurant to eat food!!! I would be absolutely remiss to not mention the kitchen staff. On time and on target. This outback is special because it's not a restaurant where you go, "Oh this is really good there but don't get this". No. EVERYTHING is good and they do a great job of keeping it that way. I will list some of my personal favorites for you to try and let me know what you think. Appetizers: THE BEST CHEESE FRIES IN TOWN. I mean that, I'm not blowing smoke. Dip those bad boys in some ranch and thank me later. Kookaburra Wings? Yes please. Try them medium for a good kick. Soup: Potato soup. Potato soup. Potato soup. I hate to be redundant but also... best in town. If that doesn't seem to be your cup of tea, go with the French Onion. But seriously, try that potato soup. Salad: Fresh and crisp house salad to pair with your favorite entree. I love their honey mustard dressing to top it off. Entrees: Can't go wrong with the juicy Center Cut Sirloin but if you're looking to spice it up a bit don't be afraid to try the Filet or the Ribeye. Well worth it. (The Burgers are also sneakily mouth watering) Sides: Amazing broccoli if you're looking to add a healthy side. I also really enjoy their sweet potato with the brown sugar cinnamon butter! Last but not least: Dessert Thunder and Lightning. Chocolate Thunder from Down Under?! AND Butter Cake?! Sign me up. Truthfully, this Outback is the perfect blend of elegance and affordability. Where else can you get a perfectly cooked to order steak, a soup or salad and a side for under 15 dollars? Not to mention the unlimited loads of the world famous Outback pumpernickel bread and butter. (Though I recommend saving some room for other items I'll get to on the menu.) Dress up, dress casual, dress down. Anything goes at Outback. Have a drink, have some food, and most importantly... have a good time. So let me ask you this, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???

Ordered a 8 oz sirloin steak with chopped salad and loaded baked potato. Server was friendly and salad was served before the meal with a loaf of their brown bread and butter. My spouse ordered the same except his steak was a 6 oz. My steak was undercooked slightly and yet tough to cut and eat. See the amount of gristle and stinging mess of my steak. My spouses steak was cooked according to how he ordered and wasn't tough or hard to cut. Management offered to bring me another steak, yet I refused because we were going to a movie and couldn't wait.

    Andrea Z.

Filet mignon was fantastic when ordered medium rare. The appetizer ribs were delicious. The server was so friendly and kind, and very helpful. I will definitely be back!

A filet, a baked potato and a salad.....the perfect meal!

As with our first visit (my first review is somewhere below), everything was phenomenal. We chose a few different items this time to share and were again impressed with each. We love that you order your entire meal at once and the staff perfectly courses out the meal for you. Last night, we had the waygu carpaccio, the tableside mozzarella, cappallacci al'aragosta (lobster pasta), pesce alla ligure (branzino), and the bistecca (waygu beef strip). The carpaccio was absolutely fantastic. The mushroom "relish" under the beef was the star accompaniment with its salty goodness. The tableside mozzarella was unique and probably the best cheese I've ever had. It is made fresh tableside and then plated as a nice caprese salad with yummy, locally grown tomatoes, flaky sea salt, basil, Spanish olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar. Simply incredible. The lobster pasta was inventive and tasty. This was coursed out between the mozzarella and our main dishes and was the perfect way for each of us to try it. The waygu beef strip was cooked to perfection (med rare), sliced and plated with some crispy beef fat bits (hubby loved!), a chimichurri sauce and roasted garlic. The steak was absolutely delicious and the chimichurri sauce was a nice addition. The branzino was the highlight of the dinner again. Presentation of the entire fish with the crispy potatoes, olives, and chef-served sauce is simply incredible. The fish with the sauce is such a wonderful, flavorful combination that I believe it is the best fish I've ever had. For dessert we ordered the apple tart and pistachio gelato. Both were wonderful but the pistachio gelato was phenomenal. The lemon zest on top, the honey drizzle and the added crunch of the pistachio pieces sprinkled overtop made for an absolute perfect bite everything. Everything we have tried here has been stellar and it isn't difficult to understand why they are Michelin rated. Ambiance, service, food quality and portions are all expertly executed. Rocca is now in our regular rotation and we already cannot wait to go back!

The restaurant itself is nicely laid out with a nice bar and large walk in wine room. As we only saw the main dining area that's where my description stops. Ok, we always get that "server" for our meals. He was inattentive and had no personality at all. I watched the other tables and the servers interacting with the guests and checking on them frequently, our guy not so much. He did spend more time at his other tables and even though they were seated after us, seemed to be handled and served before us. Next the place had many managers milling about as I counted 5 or 6 constantly moving about the Resteraunt. Not one ever made an attempt to stop by our table during our service. I find that a huge negative for a Michelin Star designated restaurant. One note the table next to us of six sat down and for some reason the managers flocked onto that table all smiles and giggles so I'm guessing that was some VIP worthy of their attention. Let's talk food and drink now the bar menu selection is good and priced in par with other restaurants but it did have some high end offerings available. Menu is good not large but some good offerings. Bread service was good at $8.00 for 2 pieces of sourdough and two focaccia. The mozzarella cart was most likely the best part of the service. The server was engaging and it's interesting to watch the process (which we do at home and are familiar with it). The Tagliolini with Ragu was good the Angnolotti fair. We expected a better experience and left somewhat disappointed by the visit. On the bill there is a charge listed as a facility fee. Not quite sure what that is but it was 2% of the bill so why argue over it.

We were seated at a super small table so it made for an uncomfortable situation with so little real estate available. Also the place looks like it's converted from a garage or something with metal walls and roll up doors that made the sound bounce around. The service was nice. We were well taken care of but they seemed to be spread thin because getting refills and getting our check took a bit longer than expected. One ssue was that the menu was very different from what was online via Google. I should have gone to their website I guess, but several items were not available and the filet I was so excited for had a very different set of items. No Brie au gratin potatoes or braised rainbow chard, citrus gremolata and a fig chutney. Now, let me say that my filet was delicious. I loved the sauce and the asparagus was good but for me, the potatoes were super underwhelming. A nice sauce or something would have made them better. They just tasted bland, were really dry and lacked any flavor. My wife expected the lamb or pork chops, they were both not on the menu. She got fish and chips which she really enjoyed, so it was a win. The Asian wings were our appetizer and were delightful too. Now the only real negative for us was the noise. We got there at 5:30 and it was fine. But as more people came in, the sound bounced around so bad that it became almost unbearable for me. I wanted to go so bad because people laughing and talking made my head hurt. Would I go back? Probably not. I didn't enjoy how loud it was. The food was very good though, so perhaps takeout would be more my speed. We had a nice meal and my leftovers were delicious later that evening.

We had to show her where the scotch was. She short poured our drinks and wandered off. Next was the food mishap. We ordered the Holiday Gnocchi (6 gnocchi ) and two smash burgers. The gnocchi arrived and it was the best part of dinner. Had a few pieces of pork belly on them and it was actually good. Then after about 25 more minutes, we got the burgers. The $21 each burgers were overcooked and cold at the same time. The "pickles" were slices of cucumber with no pickle taste. The "special sauce" was mayo. The cheese was cold and not even melted onto the burger, just peeled off like it was an afterthought. The burger tasted like it was dropped in a salt bin prior to cooking. Fries were unimpressive as well, also cold. Drinks were expensive, very poor selection of wine and beer. Just sooooo disappointing overall. Won't be going back.

I was sadly and honestly disappointed. I don't see us returning unfortunately. We were sat next to…read morethe servers station, we suggested to the manager that they put up a barrier for future guests. First we could not hear each other from all the silverware clashing and second throughout our dinner 3 times glasses were shattered at the station. The third time we were concerned, a little piece of glass had fallen in our food. The server and the manager were nice but the manager seemed to think that the solution was for the servers to slow down. That doesn't make sense to me but ok. They did remake a plate to go for us, so that was nice. The food was a little meh to me. The short ribs could have used some salt or seasoning before making the ravioli's (same with the chicken parm) just a suggestion. Pasta tasted undercooked and as if it was box pasta. I've lived in nyc and have had some really good Italian food there so I'm a little critical. I think Olivia is a little more hype and a nice ambiance for being in south Tampa than good food.
