Trillo Jiujitsu Academy - Attention to detail

Reasonably priced and Located in a plaza with plenty of food choices to stop in to either after class or during if you'd like to have a cup of coffee while you wait or order dinner to go. I've known about Trillo for quite some time, as someone I know used to go there and mentioned how much she loved it and was going for so many years. After manifesting and understanding that this is extremely necessary for my future career, I felt that it'll help me grow, be stronger, and build character. This academy fell nothing short of those expectations. I was pretty nervous going into my first class (which he offers as a free trial btw), but upon arrival, I knew I was right where I needed to be! Without knowing absolutely anything about jiujitsu or martial arts at all, Sensei Freddy made me and my friend feel right at home with his sense of passion for the art. Everyone that goes there have such good vibes, that it's almost impossible to feel awkward for not knowing what most of them already know. On the contrary, everyone helps each other out and have so much patience. I've been in the academy for a little over a month now and I can say that the money is 100% worth every dollar and I plan on investing a lot of time to learn and grow my techniques with everyone!

I think its his personality. I have been too several Karate America were he has been, and I always look forward seeing him. If you live in the Miami Lakes area and you a considering taking karate lessons, stop in, watch or even take a class, you won't be disappointed. This is a great school for you and your children. Most of the instructors from the other schools were here tonight, and doesn't seem to matter which school they are from are some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of being around. Tonight they had a special event. Max Van Eck, an ATA world champion, with multiple titles came down from Detroit to do a couple of classes for the kids. He was excellent and the kids were excited to be able to participate.

"Karate America" in Miami Lakes would not allow my son, a black belt in Gojo-Ryu Karate, to fight with his 'Top Ten" head gear which is used in the Olympics. He used this gear in all of his tournaments and got 4 "National Grand Champion" with it in NASKA. I refused to allow him to fight with their cheap ass equipment let alone buy it. I asked them to prove me wrong on the head gear and they couldn't. I asked to speak to the manager by the name of Silva but it is much easier to reach Obama than to speak to her. I apologized to my son for wasting his time not learning anything new. I then apologized to myself for allowing these thieves to take my money and by me signing a contract with a penalty for quitting. Beware of the timer that they use for every second that you child is in class. God forbid that they give you one extra minute. This place should be called "Karate for Fools".

I've decided to leave an "extended stay" review, as I feel some users would like to see if the quality is still there for the reviewer. This is my 3rd year at START, and it only gets better with time. Just yesterday, I attended a "black belt" advanced class (which is open to higher belt holders), and the mats were filled with high level bjj practitioners. It always is, but yesterday was special in my mind. On one end, I had my professors, who are in a class by themselves, along with one of the best brown belt competitors in the world, and everything in between. That's the thing, BJJ is like a rubix cube, that you never really finish solving. I watched one of my professors, experiment with a movement he wanted to figure out. How many people at such a high level, allow others into their world, and figure things out. That kind of humility is commendable, and just reinforces the kind of people I want to be around, and I want my kids learning from. This is just a sample size of the kind of vibe at the school, but I welcome people who have young kids (as my oldest is enrolled, and the younger wants to begin as well), or folks who have walked away from the mat..to come..you won't be disappointed.
