What was worst, was that our guest at our event were complaining about her. I felt so bad! First off, she wanted payment in full without providing a written contract. She later provided one after requesting for one. Second, she showed up late with no explanation. Third, she was NOT pleasant nor approachable to our guest (a couple of our guest were mentioning how rude she was). To top that off, several guest reported that they needed to tip her if they wanted a specific ink used. Plus, she just left without saying anything and did not stay for the contracted 3 hours. Very disappointed and I would not recommend Henna Hawai'i!

They are right at the front, on the left. I wanted both henna and braids. The henna was done right away, and I had to come back for the braids about an hour and a half later, as the girl that did them was away. The henna is done by stencil mostly, not free hand, so the designs can be a bit basic, but they are still quality. They do take requests for elaboration on the stencil, which is nice. First they put a temporary tattoo on with paper, and trace over it with henna paste. Mine was done quickly and looked great. I was told I could wash it off in two hours, and the darkest result would show up in about 12 hours after the paste was washed off. The last time I got henna, I had to leave it on a lot longer. With this one, I still got great, dark results, but I did leave it on way more than two hours. The longer you leave it, the darker it gets. The braids are EXCELLENT quality. She charges by each braid if you are only getting a few, or you can get a price for a full head or half head. A whole entire head is about $100. I paid maybe $35 for 4 braids, that was including beads, which are extra. It's been like 3 days since I got the braids, and they are still perfect. They have been through showers, the ocean, beach, and more. The hair braider is so amazing. She is super gentle, too. I wish I got her name, because she is one of two girls. She is young, maybe late teens, early 20's and looks Hawaiian. As I saw her work, I wanted my whole head done, because she was doing such a good job. The only reason I didn't, is because I ran out of time. It's a little pricey for the henna (like $35 for the one on my shoulder), but hey, you're right on Waikiki Beach! They have to pay for that prime real estate rent. I was able to bargain a bit. Just work out a deal with them! It was totally worth it. Highly recommended!

The communication between the owners and me was excellent. I was able to tell him exactly what I wanted, he made five different variations of what I was looking for and worked around what I thought looked the best. The turn around was a week but it was well worth the wait. I could've maybe found something in Etsy for cheaper or just bought something from the ABC Store for a gift but a gift that is unique, made by a local artist and you can authentically say I got this from Hawaii is what I think made me decide to go with them and it did not disappoint. If you're looking for omiyage or a gift from Hawaii go to A Rainbow Studio. They will help wrap it up with bubble wrap if you're not a local or are going somewhere.

He worked roughly 20 minutes on her hand. Super impressed! They have a variety of books to fit your budget and style. Panama also thoroughly explained what she needed to do to preserve the artwork. All the kids got there face painted and even adult was asking if they could get theirs too but we ran out of our booked time and she had another party to go to right after. She charges about $350 for 2 hours which may seem kinda pricey but it is full face detailed & beautiful work so thats probably why. she gets booked up so plan accordingly if you wanted more then 2 hours. We had maybe about 15-18 kids Face painted in 2 hours. I would highly recommend and would book her again. If you have a big party more then 20 faces to paint I suggest you hire a couple face paint artist or hire for more then 2 hours. Make sure there is adequate shade for the artist. I had a 20x30 tent with alot of room and thought that be good enough but the sun was moving in on her work area towards end time. Provide vegan snacks/food/dessert if possible as Kelani is vegan and we love to support healthy life styles. Overall a great party activity.
