A few weeks ago, I put in a change of address on the AZ Republic website to move my newspaper delivery from Phoenix to Flagstaff. I was told that my paper would begin arriving on my Flagstaff doorstep on May 23. Guess what? 18 days and constant emails/phone calls with Customer Care later, I still have no paper. Just the same old script promising that they will contact either the District Manager or the carrier, and that the paper will be delivered the next day, "no worries." Why can't you just give me a phone number to call the local distribution people? This should be an easy fix. If I could talk to someone local, I could fix this problem in 5 minutes. I'm reading the digital version, but I'm paying for the old-school paper version, and if you tell me that I can receive it in Flagstaff, then you need to make that happen.

The first day of scheduled delivery: NO morning paper. I called. They said that I would receive my paper that afternoon. Second day : again, NO paper. I called and talked with Fred Bradley , the paper's circulation manager. He apologized and said that they would correct the problem. Later that afternoon I received a copy of the (morning) paper. Third day : you guessed it , NO paper. I again talked with Mr. Bradley, telling him that this was becoming a waste of my time. I asked for a refund and for the paper to cancel my subscription. Later that afternoon (still NO paper) a lady named Darby called to tell me that there would be a $10.00 cancellation fee. The result of this is that I paid $5.00 for each newspaper that I received. Is this an example of a company's greed or just stupidity ? I would like to think that it is merely plain, old poor management. So, if you want to be lied to and cheated, go ahead, subscribe to The Daily Courier.

We made an appointment and were directed to "Arlene", she was obviously JUST A TAX PREPARER. Because, as we explained the reason for our "consultation", she began to scold us for interrupting her busy day with our questions about tax liability. Someone made a mistake and directed us to Too-Busy-Arlene. We were treated very unprofessionally and ran out! She could have directed us to the proper person in their office, if they even have one! Arlene may be able to fill out a 1040 but she certainly can't handle much more... and whoever made our appointment doesn't know much either. Our time was wasted too Arlene!
