A map near the parking lot describes the trails. The prairie trail has a few wren houses which had attracted a nice tree sparrow. There are benches along the prairie trail to sit and watch the birds. There were were a number of dog walkers out enjoying the trails and a few runners. Knocking off a point because there was a bit of trash in the retention pond and the noise of 116th Street detracted from the experience of the water fowl walk. Otherwise, a nice trail with plenty of parking.

This park is filled with nature themed playground equipment. It is located on the Carmel/Zionsville line. It has a huge parking lot and a water fountain and restroom facilities. There are a bunch of picnic tables on the terrace area between the playground and the building. The playground is natural and is actually located in the woods. Most of the equipment is net based and wooded. There are wood balance beams and net climbing structures with a wood frame. The area in the front is for smaller kids (under 5) and the equipment near the back is more complex and is for the older kids (5 and older). The highlight of the park is easily the zip line. My little loved it. She wore me out from pushing her. The zip line will travel down the cable without a push, but my kid wanted to go faster. It is a pretty cool zip line, but the nostalgia wore off fast. Being that the play area is in the woods, it is surrounded by a bunch of trees and is well shaded. My little was not very keen on this park. She was more than ready to go only after 20 minutes or so. This park is ok, but not worth being a destination park. It does not have many visitors and was wide open while me and my little was there. West Park (which is right next door), once they are done their maintenance, looked like it will be awesome. So, once that park is up and running, to maximize my time, I would probably treat this park as an appetizer and West Park as the main course.

I was very impressed with the quality of the layout and planning of the park. The walking paths, bike riding paths, the natural plant growth areas are all amazing! The parking is excellent, there are a few great venue areas that I assume can be reserved, the playground looks wonderful and the outdoor activity oppportnies are just wonderful. I highly recommend this park to anyone in the area, it's great for all ages, all activities (even sitting around and reading or looking at the clouds). what a great park!!

This might be a nice place to visit if you had a toddler just learning to walk, because the ground is that soft rubber material, and what few equipment pieces that are on the playground are pint-sized just for little kids. It's the kind of playground that's good for toddlers and very young kids who are in that stage of putting everything in their mouth, because there's really nothing dangerous here. There are benches everywhere to sit, and lots of trees and beautiful landscaping to enjoy. There's also a fountain and paths that go all around the park and the square, and shops (including an awesome candy shop) across the street. It's also very quiet and clean and peaceful. I could see myself visiting this park when my kids were 1 or 2 years old.

Flat Fork Creek Park is part of Fishers Parks. Located at 101st and Cyntheanne Road, Flat Fork Creek Park offers just over 60 acres of relaxing fun for just about everyone in the family including a good amount of ADA accessibility. First off, you'll get a 60-foot sledding hill here. That's good to know as we inch toward winter. It's the tallest point in Hamilton County. There's also a 1.25 mile progressive mountain bike course that offers features for both mountain biking newbies and those with more experience. There's a beautiful fishing pond - state license required except for those 17 and under. Nearly 20 acres in the park are reforestation areas and there's a shelter with picnic tables that can be rented. Okay, that accessibility I mentioned? The 3k I did was a relatively small group, though it was centered around disability and had several disabled participants. The park includes an ADA accessible treehouse, a paved multi-use trail, and a boardwalk (I would note that while the boardwalk is, indeed, accessible, you do want to be a tad careful due to the side of the boardwalk that do offer a bit of a drop-off). You know what I think is really cool? They've created a ramp here so that even those with mobility issues can get to the top of the sledding hill - in most parks, that's an afterthought. As a side note, Fishers has won awards for their inclusion work and this park really shows it. This is really just a lovely park. You're not going to find a playground or other frequent park features, however, this beautiful park does a nice job of including everyone and weaving together nature with fun park adventures. This was my first time here. It won't be my last.

You will also find an aquatics center, picnic areas, playgrounds, a merry-go-round, Tom Thumb mini golf, a disc golf course and tons of wide-open green space. It is adjacent to a golf course, as well. On this day, we were going to visit the pool area but found that the majority of pool chairs had already been claimed, so we opted for a picnic instead. We stopped by the nearby KFC and grabbed some chicken and sides. I keep folding chairs and blankets in the trunk of my car for just this sort of occasion, so we laid out a couple of blankets and enjoyed some fresh air, vitamin D directly from the sun, and literally touched grass. It was nostalgic, calming and peaceful. There were several other groups of people present. There were parents with young children on the playground. There was a group hosting a baby shower underneath one of the picnic shelters. There were several young ladies and women enjoying the swings. There was a group of teenagers/young adults listening to music and tossing a ball around. We also observed several young men enjoying the skate park (I forgot to mention the skate park earlier) and riding e-bikes and bicycles around the park as well. There were several barbecues/cookouts taking place as well. There is, indeed, something for everyone to do and enjoy here. I was happy to see such a mix of people of all ages, ethnicities, and sexes present to enjoy this beautiful space.

There is a nice covered pavilion with about 4 tables. The tables were very clean. There were grills close by. There is a small upscale playground near the front of the park with interesting selection of activities. The equipment was clean and inviting. We watched a steady parade of dog walkers, skaters and runners make their way around the ark and down to the trail. During our visit we watched a lovely Midwest sunset over the farm fields adjacent to the park. So peaceful and relaxing. A perfect end to the day. There are about 10 parking spots and the park is totally accessible. There is even motorcycle parking.

I saw red winged blackbirds, ducks and heard wrens during my walk this morning. The property was donated to the Town of Zionsville for use as a park by local businessman Robert Carter. I would not consider the space as a destination park. The park is a good place for a short walk with a dog or a run through. I saw evidence of fishing in the pond. The walkway and parking are accessible. There are no restroom or other amenities.
