Elizabeth took us to Lemon Tree Gift shop first where you have an opportunity to see so may unique gifts many produced by local crafters. We also spent time in the Artisans Art Gallery (most of us went back to either of the stops after the tour because we had seen something to purchase). However, the highlight was the four restaurants on the tour where we were treated to such incredible food pairings. Trust me when I say, no one left hungry! We were treated to unique American dishes, BBQ, seafood, and home made doughnuts and ice cream. His fishing experience and knowledge were evident throughout our trip. I told him I was not very experienced with artificial bait and was not very successful when I have tried using artificial bait in the past. Not only did Capt. Dencil put me on fish, but he also taught me how to catch fish using artificial bait and gave me confidence to continue using artificial bait when I'm fishing on my own. I want to point out that he provided live bait for us to use. He worked with me at the fishing level I was at and helped me to improve my fishing for the future. All that to say, if you're an experienced fisherman looking to get out on the water, he's the guy to get you there. If you're not an experienced fisherman, he'll meet you where you're at and help you successfully catch fish. WE PUT FISH IN THE BOAT! He gave me tips on what to look for when choosing places to fish. His boat was comfortable and set up right for fishing the many shallow areas we have in this area. His equipment was high quality gear. It was an all-around awesome experience. If you are looking to get out on a charter fishing trip, I highly recommend Capt. Dencil.

As…read morea matter of fact, I worked together with the Captain's father, Dencil Powell Senior at the local paper mill for 45 years. I can vouch for the Captain coming from good stock. Dencil Senior had a true love for fishing, but nothing at all to compare with the Captain's Love for the sport called Fishing! Fishing is Captain Dencil's Life! Locally oxbow lake "False River" was created many, many years ago when the Mississippi River changed course, leaving the several miles long lake. False River was known to produce good catches of large mouth bass, but I had a camp there, fished regularly and never hauled a catch home that was worth bragging about. While I fish a lot, I don't usually fish for bass and really don't know how to do it. I tear up the catfish and bream. Have racked in the white perch more than once. A friend from Colorada called, said he was coming to visit and wanted to catch all those big large mouth bass he had been reading about and seeing TV shows about. Well I knew I couldn't put him on them, so I hired Captain Dencil to guide him. We all left the dock at daylight with fog and low visibility in the Captain's boat flying across the water. I was worried we could hit something when suddenly the Captain cut the motor and whipped the boat around, saying "Did you see that, throw right over there". I didn't see anything! My friend casted towards the spot and the fish came out of the water getting the cast before it even hit the water. I have been a Believer of Captain Dencil ever since. Well. the live box and ice chest filled up during the day. A catch we were proud to brag about. My friend from the Rocky Mountains was totally Impressed!! As was I !!!
