Review #295 - 2019…read more After dinner, we managed to get caught up in one of the worse commute traffic that I've been in in a long while. That doesn't really say much since I rarely leave my house during normal business hours. I decided to find a detour to kill some time because I knew that we could be sitting in that traffic for a good 1.5-2 hours, minimum. Such a terrible waste of time! We ended up at this park because it has a toddlers's playground for my 3-year old daughter and a basketball court for my son & his cousin. We showed up at around 6:15 PM on Tuesday, October 15th, and there were a lot of kids on the soccer field. I guess they were in the middle of soccer practice or a game. There was also a bunch of teenagers on the tennis court taking lessons. Luckily, the basketball courts were empty so the boys had the whole place to themselves. My daughter was also the only toddler on the play structure most of the time. Only 1 kid came by and left after a few minutes of playing. It's a nice field, everything seemed well kept. My nephew said he used the bathroom and it was nasty so I didn't bother going. But then again, you can't really expect too much from a bunch of little boys. So glad we found this spot by chance, even though we couldn't stay more than half an hour as it got dark & cold by around 6:45 PM.

Super well maintained and it makes you feel oh so special to be just there ; as if you live there, but you don't so then you go home and feel sorry for yourself.

I could see people coming from miles away to get to here. I think the best part is probably the lighting. Its very bright and very fancy. That means if the sun sets it won't put an end to your fun. There is a gym equipment section near the entrance. Good for pullups or situps or stepups. When was the last time you did some of those? Lets be honest.... Toward the back there is a play structure. Good for young kids. It wasn't too popular I think because this park is known for the fields. So might be a good option if you want fewer kids around your own kids. Tons of parking. The lot is more than large enough. Overall the park is very clean and new. Its almost surprising that it is technically Hayward, CA. You just don't expect anything that nice from this city.

a review from amom2kidsandapark.com…read more A popular destination for the sport enthusiast, Alden E Oliver Sports Park in the south side of Hayward has a massive baseball/softball complex, soccer field, and a fitness court The multilevel playground has two slides (a straight slide from the lower platform and a spiral from the higher platform), steps, ladders, a tunnel/stairway, a lookout hole up top, a climbing wall, and swings (both standard and bucket). Next to the playground is a bunch of picnic tables. Stick to having your picnic at a table great because you definitely don't want to picnic on the grass behind the playground... it has plenty of "natural fertilizer" from the geese There is a lot of parking and bathrooms near the parking and playground. Add a walk around the grounds to your adventure!
