I had filed for Dissolution of Marriage by myself and did what I thought was a great job. The I had to go to Mediation. It was court appointed. It didn't go very well and there was no help offered except, I should get a lawyer to help me out. I listened and started the search that same day. I can't express this enough, if you work with this law firm, they will find every excuse to charge you thousands of dollars frequently. They will waste time and charge you as much as possible. I have paid over 7k for a simple divorce, and absolutely nothing got done. In fact the only thing that I'm left with now that I've fired them is the paperwork that I have filled out, and a case number at the courthouse.. thank god at least someone was aware that eventually there would be a divorce! I ended up dropping the representation, and I'm doing it myself now because I just couldn't afford to continue paying random, large amounts of money for literally nothing. I had two attorneys here because one of them got fired, both did not update me on anything for months, rarely took my calls, and were extremely vague in responding to my inquiries about what they were actually doing. It's extremely frustrating feeling like I have no control over my money.. it just keeps getting dragged out of my account by these thieves.
