You choose a colour, they mix it for you. Four years later you get around to decorating the other two walls (well we had to get the wallpaper off and it seemed easier to leave it) and they'll peer at the lable on the tin that has been sitting inthe garage being eaten by snails and then they'll mix up just the right colour for you. again.

What keeps me loyal to this shop is the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners. They give good advice and do not automatically steer customers to the most expensive options. This shop is off the beaten path but well worth a visit, especially during spring and autumn when they stock a lot of plants. It was a year before I ever entered this store after relocating to East Oxford; now I wish I hadn't waited that long - this place is a gem.

They cater for tradesmen but also for the general public and they are so unbelievably helpful and will advise you on what you need for a certain job. You can also just buy one or two of something rather than a whole packet unlike its competitors homease and b and q! They do key-cutting while you wait too. You can buy single or multiple screws, in just about every size and thread, and everything i've ever needed has been in stock - from bird food to cable to key cutting and paint. They cut pieces of wood to specific dimensions for a small amount of money, and this makes most things much easier. They work in both metric and imperial measurements. It is a great place for whatever odds and ends you may ever need.

It's only a small store but they make the most of the space and it's packed full of stuff, which although not as cheap as the superstores is worth it for the back up you get. The most handy thing they have is off to the side of the store. If you want wood cut to size they have a wall mounted cutter and will happily cut boards and planks to your exact requirements. I've not been here in some time but they certainly know their stuff and it's worth using them over anyone else in the area.
