The store claims to offer a one-year warranty. We called them, and they asked to provide photos of the damage. I sent them the photos. I haven't heard back from the store since then and called them myself after 3 weeks. They said they showed the photos to their manufacturer who said it's a physical damage and they are not going to do anything about it. He also added "you bought it cheaply", and I asked him if it means it's ok for this mattress to get broken after only 4 months. I explained that we haven't done any damage to the mattress. They store guy was quite unfriendly and said that even if they provide refund/replacement, I would have to deliver the item to the store at my expense. He promised to go back to the manufacturer and call me back in a few days. He never called me back, so I called him myself after one week. He said his manufacturer claims it's a physical damage and they are not going to replace or refund it. Again, I explained there was no damage done to the item. He said I am telling lies. He was very rude and kept referring to his manufacturer. This shop refused to provide any help with their faulty item. They claim to provide warranty but they do not honour this warranty, so it's useless. I am sad such retailers can get away with selling their products here. I definitely won't buy anything else from this store and would not recommend them to anyone.

Walking into St. Barts is like walking into a beachside villa in the south of France. The shop itself is gorgeous, with young and beautiful staff to match. There's a mixture of things to browse from armchairs, to jeweled sandals, to fabrics, to ornaments and statement pieces for the home. Given that it's located on ritzy James Street, I assumed that the prices would be higher, but they're actually quite reasonable. I would very happily add many a St Barts piece to my home and will be back soon to see what else they have to offer. The shop is brand new and has yet to build a hype surrounding its existence. From what I saw in store, it will only be a matter of time before St Barts has a steady following.

A new shop always seems so promising and adds a nice freshness to shopping areas that you already know inside out. I actually just came across St Barts on the weekend when I was on my way to Harveys and couldn't resist a peek. St Barts sells clothes, accessories, and homewares and their style seems quite eclectic. They had some lovely cushions and cute accessories, and I got the impression that they're still in the process of fully stocking their shop so I'll look forward to poking my nose back in there in a few weeks to see what it's like when they get fully into the swing of things. The prices are a little bit lower than I would have expected based on St Barts's location and exterior so that was a nice surprise. I exchanged a quick hello with the sales assistant and then she left me to browse which I always appreciate, especially in areas like James street where a lot of the stores seem to employ hoverers. It is interesting to see a few fresh storefronts on James street and this is one of them. St Barts is only young yet, and I'm excited to see what it'll grow into!

Still, it looks pretty good and with their low prices, makes it hard to resist. It's quite a big showroom filled with furniture which you meander through and around. During the times I've been both of weekends and weekdays, I didn't find it to be too busy inside, so it gives plenty of time to peruse the options. One thing I noticed which I didn't like to much is that they lack in good customer service. I walked in and circled the entire store without so much as a glance. I didn't take it personally, because I noticed it happened with all the customers they had in store at the time. The staff waited until they were approached by customers first. I don't know about you, but I think that's all back to front! In the end, after I approached them and asked for assistance. They were relatively nice and helpful enough. Not the most pleasant of shopping experiences, but it will do.

What I love about their range is that it doesn't boast huge cumbersome pieces that are overly grandiose or OTT. So we went here and ended up buying him a really awesome cushioned on all sides double bed frame and might I say, he loves it. It cost us under $200 and a similar bed frame everywhere else was at least $400, the quality was pretty much the same. We also went back when they had their Easter sale and bought our 2 leather recliners for my husband's 'man-room' there for $200 off the price listed which we were pretty damned happy about. We did do our research and the thing is, A-Mart have previously never been known for their quality, people usually went there to get the cheaper furniture because they couldn't afford to get the quality stuff. Having said that, this A-Mart now stocks more than a handful of awesome dining tables (which we bought a set of) and leather chairs as well as outdoor furnitre which I'm sure we will check out as well when we have the budget for it. So A-Mart is coming good and trying to shed the previous image, good on them! Definetely check out their cute little leather chairs for kids too, at $99 they are so worth it. Plus, how cool would they look.

They filled in that void in the market, for trendy, quality furniture at average to pricey costs. Nowadays, there are many other players in the market attempting at a slice of the pie. In fact, I think Ikea has tempted some of their customers away. Freedom no longer has the same appeal it used to. When picking a lounge, I wasn't convinced Ikea is the place to go. So to Freedom we went. We had purchased a lounge with chase from Freedom and waited for around 3-4 months. After persistently chasing it up, it finally had arrived. To my horror, the chase was on the wrong side! It would not work in the lounge room- it's all wrong! We complained and they apologised and said they'd re-order it. No compensation, we were expected to just wait. Wait, we did and it arrived correctly 2 months later. This was one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. Not only did it take twice as long as their estimated wait, which they blamed on the factory workers in China, the customer service back was appalling.

Susan couldn't even be bothered coming to the lounges less than 20m away, and insisted I go and find out "what it's called" and she'll look it up on the computer. Delivery was on time, as ordered, and put together. no assembly required. surprised at good prices and love that it's not flatpack (even harvey norman and freedom are flatpack these days). Cons: Their financing company Lombard is really difficult. You can't apply in store like with HN but have to go home, do it online (longest form ever for $2k!!) then go BACK in store to sign documents. So painful. We went in on a Thursday evening just to sign finance documents and a different salesman manning the store was closing up a little early and didn't want to turn the computer back on so we had to come back another day. pretty lazy.
