The warping chipboards on their book shelves and flimsy mattresses on the bed frames make me suspect their durability. On the plus side, the Macgregor showrooms are huge. There's one big shed dedicated to outdoor furnishings, another shed for office and a third shed for indoor lounge/ dining. The first time I came here, I didn't appreciate the distance between the showrooms. By the time I walked to the third shed (in the midday sun), I was dehydrated. Points go to their excellent vending machine facilities in the third shed. Perhaps they've had too many customers faint while walking the length of their showroom. For future reference, it's much better to drive you car around to park at the specific shed you are after. Super A-mart is worth checking out during the sales if you are looking at furnishing student accommodation at relatively cheaper prices.

Wood items are mostly solid wood, there's lots of leather and mostly leather furniture, fabric quality is good, and now that we have the furniture in our home, I can tell you everything is perfectly comfortable. They have three separate showrooms, one for living room, one for bedroom, and one for outdoors. Prices are pretty good, at a little more than half of what you might find at just about any furniture store. Delivery was quick and painless and customer service was not bad, either. One of our items arrived damaged, but they replaced it right away with no questions asked.

On first appearance it looks like a suburban home ware store with candles and lanterns and generic sculptures. This is because given the size of the shop, stocking home ware and furnishings would make more sense. However this store is definitely catering for furniture with some funky chairs, low coffee tables, book shelves and even some eight seater dining table options. It's cramped but tasteful and definitely worth a browse if you're nesting it up in your first home.

During the times I've been both of weekends and weekdays, I didn't find it to be too busy inside, so it gives plenty of time to peruse the options. One thing I noticed which I didn't like to much is that they lack in good customer service. I walked in and circled the entire store without so much as a glance. I didn't take it personally, because I noticed it happened with all the customers they had in store at the time. The staff waited until they were approached by customers first. I don't know about you, but I think that's all back to front! In the end, after I approached them and asked for assistance. They were relatively nice and helpful enough. Not the most pleasant of shopping experiences, but it will do.

To be honest the name "Corporate Culture" put me off from visiting this store…read more Heading inside I had visions of slick investment bankers, cashed-up trophy wives and wanky modern furniture. Corporate Culture thankfully is none of these things, they've hit the design bullseye with their range of nondescript and cool furnishings and fittings. It's house brand Cult deals with some truly beautiful pieces. Cherry wood benches, beechwood stackable chairs, retro-inspired tables, the range here will have you drooling in no time. What's also great about this brand is that they place a strong emphasis on supporting emerging talent. As such their showrooms are littered with local designers like Lisa Vincitorio,Thomas Seymour and Paul Morris. If you've been hit with the decorating bug (or have a spare couple of grand) I recommend checking out Corporate Cultures brand online or in store.

The structure has struck me as beautiful for years; when I was a child, this house was literally my dream house. I visited this "house" today. Because I wasn't intending to buy anything I looked at it all without worrying about price tags (though when I did glimpse a few it confirmed my suspicions: expensive). I felt like I could therefore just enjoy the store as an experience, because the homeware items, toys and antiques here are really quite quirky. I wandered about, absorbed in what felt like looking at art, and suddenly there was a bustling cafe in my face. I realized I'd become so absorbed I'd hit the base of the stairs leading to a cafe. Even the existence of the cafe seemed other-worldly; you don't see many coffee shops inside homeware stores. Unsurprisingly, I got lost on the way out. (Partly the result of embarrassment over having almost fallen onto stairs, partly because the place is quite maze-y.) A lovely staff member approached me, comprehended my dilemma and helped me. She also laughed at my self-deprecatory jokes, which is obviously the most important thing.

I think painting everything white and keeping everything free from too much embellishment is what makes things look chic rather than look like something your grandma would have in her guest room. I found the most amazing vanity at this store. It was all white with a huge round mirror and there was a cute little stool to go with it. It was adorable but at $350, I really did not need it (who really NEEDS a vanity anyway). Blake and Taylor is a treat to visit. Even if you are not a "lady who lunches" yet, it is a nice store to walk around and look at all the pretty things.

So we went here and ended up buying him a really awesome cushioned on all sides double bed frame and might I say, he loves it. It cost us under $200 and a similar bed frame everywhere else was at least $400, the quality was pretty much the same. We also went back when they had their Easter sale and bought our 2 leather recliners for my husband's 'man-room' there for $200 off the price listed which we were pretty damned happy about. We did do our research and the thing is, A-Mart have previously never been known for their quality, people usually went there to get the cheaper furniture because they couldn't afford to get the quality stuff. Having said that, this A-Mart now stocks more than a handful of awesome dining tables (which we bought a set of) and leather chairs as well as outdoor furnitre which I'm sure we will check out as well when we have the budget for it. So A-Mart is coming good and trying to shed the previous image, good on them! Definetely check out their cute little leather chairs for kids too, at $99 they are so worth it. Plus, how cool would they look.
