5/5 -- A Hidden Treasure in Oxnard! If you're hunting for a true comfort-food haven this winter, Ozeki Noodle is the little gem you'll want to keep all to yourself... but it's way too good not to share. The ambience is calm, clean, and quietly inviting--like Oxnard's own little pocket of Japan. The service? Warm, attentive, and wonderfully efficient. You know what truly makes this place? The authentic food. Every dish feels crafted with care. I love being able to sit down with a steaming cup of hot green tea, the most delicious tempura, a spicy tuna hand roll that never misses, and a bright, refreshing seaweed salad--without having to wait forever for seating or service. If you're starving, this is where you want to land for fast, delicious comfort. And the star of the show: the chicken bowl. I promise you will not find a chicken bowl this good anywhere else. Tender, flavorful, and so satisfying it deserves its own fan club. The tempura? Feathery, crisp perfection--easily the best in Ventura County. No exaggeration needed. Their miso is a warm winter hug, and the combo with the chicken bowl + rice + a large bowl of udon is the definition of cozy luxury. The broth is rich, the noodles are plush and filling, and you'll leave full with leftovers to smile at later. If you want authentic Japanese comfort, fast service, and food that feels like it was made just for you, Ozeki Noodle is your new cold-weather sanctuary.

Why have you all let me sleep on this spot for so long? I had one of the best lunches I've had in a while here and who knew that I'd find amazing Japanese food at a little Oxnard strip mall restaurant?! If you are like me and have driven by this spot a hundred times and not bothered to step in, hurry up and turn around to make your way back because this place is phenomenal for homey comfort Japanese bites. This restaurant gives very mom and pop vibes with cute decor and excellent service. The restaurants decor was inviting and cozy but still spacious to accommodate a good sized group for a lunch or dinner rush. Service was 5 stars hands down. The waitress who took my order and bussed my food out was really nice and attentive. I was impressed at the pacing for the food as everything came out in good time. If you are coming on your lunch break it's good to know you can get in and out in 30 minutes, but they also don't rush you. The menu was bigger than I expected with a lot of great options. They have rice bowls, teriyaki, sushi, bento boxes and more. A nice variety. I was super hungry when I came in here so I luckily got to try a few of their popular items. Started with a miso soup which was super tasty, simple but made right. Alaskan roll: spicy tuna roll topped with fresh salmon. Delicious for a simple roll. The salmon tasted fresh and the spicy tuna had a good little kick to it, was a tasty roll given that they have a limited sushi menu. Some rolls and nigiri but definitely more of a specialty in their rice bowls. I had the tempura shrimp rice bowl with onions and eggs. Omg was this bowl full of flavor, great textures, and they don't skimp on the toppings. This shrimp Don was 5/5! Was one of the best dishes I've had in a while, it was simple but so tasty. I loved the sauce and texture that the crispy shrimp brought to the soft rice and eggs. I've been craving this dish since I left that I'm eager to get back here soon. Can't believe such an inconspicuous place is serving up some of the best Japanese home cooking in the 805. Love this spot and will be back soon, and with some friends!

Never been here before, but food was good. Very welcoming quaint place with fast service for 2 people working. Prices varied on certain items. Would consider returning to support this local place since it's been around since the Esplanade opened.

This place has always been consistent with their meals and customer service. Headed over for dinner after a day of work and a rosary service. We arrived an hour prior to closing and were still welcomed and seated in a friendly manner. The place is always kept clean and plenty of places to seat. We came for katsu Don and a couple appetizers which were served generously and at the appropriate amount of time. My favorite is still the bento boxes with salmon but the katsu Don was perfect dish as comfort food.

The food is good, but they really need more staff to greet customers, take their drink orders and ACTUALLY come back with the drinks.

We needed a different vibe, so yes.. so excited for Mongolian BBQ. My first time there, I wasn't sure what to do, there was no one at the counter so I had to flag someone to come help. The guy there seems like he didn't want to be there, so I kinda felt unwelcome. I got the regular bowl, and he asked for sauce preference... I also tried their seafood boil. You pick 2 seafood and it comes with rice, 1 corn and 1 potato. No different sauce, just spice level. After paying, walk towards the toppings and stack your bowl. Meats, veggies whatever your heart desires. All meats looked broken up, and all items were very low. Nothing was filled. After you finish piling the bowl with whatever toppings they have...the guy at the end will cook it, and Toss in the noodles or rice if you prefer. After a few minutes, foods done. Let's eat. So my first bite of the noodles was bland, just salty. I had to add in some sriracha for flavor. Then onto the seafood boil. First bite, omg so salty. Tired the rice. So dry. I got the shrimp n mussels. Both are so overcooked. The only item edible was the potato since I peeled the skin. Had to Toss the rest away. So disappointed

The beef and pork are soaking in that flavor, fresh veggies, you can make your own sauce with extra on the side, and the heated plate gives it a nice almost char flavor without the smoke. Pair that with the seating at the Annex or grabbing a table with Bottle & Pint and that's the best of both worlds. The price may seem like a lot but the regular bowl if you stack it high could easily be 2 meals, I usually opt for the noodles and stacking on veggies you know don't tend to wilt when they're cooked to maximize volume, but I'm glad they reopened after their quick hiatus!

Ambiance- seating inside is generally small tables close together and the dining area is on the smaller side. An open kitchen area is behind the counter, but they also have more kitchen space behind in the back. They layout really reminded me of Tokyo Ramen houses that are designed for solo single eaters (as a lot of Tokyo casual dining is). During my meal, the majority of us at tables were solo eaters, only 1 other table had 2 diners. So I imagine if you're a larger party it, it may be hard to get seating at busier times due to smaller number of tables. Ordered- Tokatsu ShuShu ramen. The noodles were springy and bouncy. The broth is creamy and tasty. I still think I really enjoy Silverlake Ramen's Tonkatsu broth (I don't know what their secret ingredient is that makes it unique) but URamen's is still satisfying. I had 4 pieces of Chashu, 1/2 of a seasoned soft boiled egg. The yolk is seasoned in a very sweet sauce- interesting taste. They add a wonton crisp which is unusual for Ramen bowl! I would've like nori crisp but that's ok. Service- One server was taking care of the lunch crowd. The owners are Thai, and I believe the server is also Thai. She was quite polite. Usually I think most Thai restaurants offer that super kind, and humble service to customers. (I say this as Korean Ame, it's noticeably different than immigrant run Korean or Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants) I do prefer the taste of Silverlake Ramen, BUT they have even more limited seating. The parking and access here is easier and quicker than going to the Collection Annex, so I think this is another solid Ramen place. Note- They are closed on Mondays, and closed between 3-5pm everyday. The first time I came, was during their closed time.

You have to wait for space to open up first, and only then can you place your order and sit down. It can definitely be inconvenient. The prices are also on the higher side.
