What a wonderfully fresh meal! We had lemon chicken breast with homemade hummus and grilled vegetables. In addition, soup came with the meal and their cabbage soup is spectacular! This is a 3.5 stars for Ozzy's. But we all know that Yelp doesn't put up with the half star crap. Service is friendly and timely. The employees are nice and in the duration that I was there the people who were coming and going seemed like they all knew each other.. So that's always a good sign. The food was good. I just tried the wknd buffet and they have a decent spread. I guess for me it didn't really knock me out of the park. I love lentil soup but theirs was not lentil-y enough - so that's my only complaint on the buffet. In the Lansing area, in spite of it's plethora of Mideastern restaurants, very few places cook lamb well - if at all. Granted , lamb is a difficult meat to get right - undercooked - it tastes weird and grainy and overcooked - a charred mess. Ozzy's gets it right every time. Every single time is a hit. read more

I just moved from the Detroit area, so I have eaten at a lot of middle eastern restaurants. This place is terrible. Hummus was good, tabbouleh was ok, and everything else was garbage. The chicken and beef shawarma were bad. Looked like they had boiled them, thrown them in the cooler, pulled them out 2 days later to reheat and serve to me. Gross. read more

Ozzy Kabob's participates in 'Guestrant' at my work and I have been very impressed with my lunch. The chicken was delicious, the hummus was delicious, the salad was delicious... everything was great. The prices were pretty fair for everything with the exception of the chicken shawarma salad which seemed a bit over priced. I visited for the first time on Saturday for lunch with a large group of teens, most of who had not had middle eastern cuisine. The buffet was well stocked and very clean. I attempted to have one bite of each dish, as I have not had much variety of middle eastern food myself. All the dishes were excellent and the staff were extremely nice and hospitable to us. I could attest to the quality of the food, which in my opinion is the best of the Middle Eastern restaurants around. I could mention how the attitude of the waitstaff and managers appears to be that of people who really care about the quality and reputation of the restaurant and seem to offer the guest an insight to the lost art of customer service. Instead I will tell you a story of how they went out of their way to accommodate a desperate and hungry customer (me). I live in Alaeidon Township (between Mason and Okemos) and am always out of everyone's delivery range by 1 mile, except a single pizza place. We didn't have time to cook and REALLY didn't want pizza so I thought I'd disappoint myself and have one other company tell me they can't reach me. I called Ozzy's. They said to call their delivery company Mr. Delivery or Special Delivery, which I did. Mr. Delivery couldn't find me and Special Delivery said I was out of range. I called back Ozzy's to say neither of the two could get to me. The gentleman on the line asked me for my number and said he could get one of them to deliver. Sure enough about 10 minutes later he had managed to convince Special Delivery to travel the extra 3 minutes and deliver to my address. I ordered my food and 45 minutes later had an amazing meal. Thank you again to Ozzy's Kabob for making my night so much better. And yes the delivery guy who went the extra mile (literally and figuratively) got the extra tip. read more

Very nice surprise in Okemos. Ozzy's just made me a great first-visit dinner, even better than I'd hoped, and did it with carry out that got home as wonderful as if it was just served in the restaurant. Char-grilled lamb tenderloin was tender, cooked exactly as ordered. Lamb tenderloin is not an every day dish around here, and I would go back just for this. Another hit? Crispy eggplant. Delicious, and got home crispy. Nothing gets home crispy, but hot and tender. Again, Ozzy's did. Fattoush was a crunchy, cold chopped salad, and seasoning a fresh treat. Garlic sauce just right. I frequently eat at this restaurant, the food I have had has always been excellent, the meat tender and juicy (all meat is Halal). I have ordered the salmon steak which was cooked perfectly and served with sauteed peppers and lemons which complimented the seasoning on the salmon very well, Moe's Chicken Special which has a nice tangy lemon flavor and is really one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had and at the price is definitely unbeatable. I have also had the veggie and meat grape leaves which are nice and sour just the way I like my grape leaves, and the Falafels are just delightful, just spicy enough to satisfy my palette when dipped in the hummus. I have had the buffet multiple times and as a regular it is nice that they always change up a few dishes, some of my buffet favorites are the spinach chicken, the ginger chicken, falafel, fried cauliflower, chicken gallaya (chicken in sauteed peppers and carrots) and also the hummus and baba ghanoush just seem to complete every dish. They also have four soups available on the buffet and I must say the lentil soup is so good I haven't even tried any of the other soups. The wait staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive in my experience, and the owner and his son who manages the front of house are always friendly and have often given me a Turkish coffee, or mango juice on the house. Overall I say you must check out this place if you are a fan of Middle Eastern/ Mediterranean food, or just want to try something new. In regards to Scott S. all sandwiches are served on pita bread, Shawarma is a Levantine Arab meat preparation, where lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, veal, or mixed meats are placed on a spit. So your sandwich was definitely served in a pita wrap not in a shawarma, however maybe not in the open taco like style you are accustom too. However if you want Greek food maybe try a Greek place next time. read more

This is a really nice restaurant. Nice staff. Good environment. I went for Lunch buffet for two days in a row. The felafel's are awesome. I like to dip them with their garlic sauce. I also like their boneless chicken. Their desserts is very good. I do not remember the name. I think it is walnut/peanut mixture covered with crispy sugar. It is flavorful, but not too sweet.
