In between the happy gatherings Martin and his professional crew have brought new life into this grand building by carefully taking care of the roof and necessary, rebuilding of walls and framing that needed attention. Replacement of steps that needed replacement. Very complicated roof with many various pitches interior work. And today to my absolute delight, the most fantastically, professional and classy plumber, brought in to take care of the plumbing jobs that need to be done so that Martin can assure the owner that everything has been done with care and pride and craftsmanship and professionalism Martin isn't afraid to show his name and the trades in which he specializes and his CCB number proudly on the side of his work trucks and bands. He is happy to take a moment at the end of the day in between tasks when he has time to talk about the trade and how he is carefully taking on the job of restoring a historic Oregon property. At the property where I currently reside and an anonymous carpenter had inadvertently saw through the main electrical cables of the property built in 1946. Up the street, a delivery truck had accidentally yanked down electrical lines because of a poor coordination of communication between the city and a local owner regarding the importance of clearing trees and a failure to identify that the overhanging powerlines were being held up by the long branches of the tree in the midst of all this Martin's crew was roofing that very complicated roof that has somewhere upwards of 11 different pitches and also has an extremely steep driveway that complicated the matter of delivering shingles that were to be lifted up to the roof with electrical lines and Internet lines passing in the line of the truck used to hoist the shingles Given the accidents I'd already witnessed locally, I was reflexively anxious. Not to worry. Martin's crew had their eyes on the job, took measures to avert the obstacle, and the driver was extremely skillful. The owners Carlos and Alondra were friendly and responded quickly when I sent pictures of the problems they left me with. They did their best to fix the problems but unfortunately their crew is lacking in quality control because they work way too fast with very poor attention to detail. Look at the picture of the flashing. I decided to fix it myself rather than have them break it up worse. (I'm a retired Contractor) I'll most likely have to reroof this again in a couple years if not sooner because there are probably loose nails from the old roof left under the underlayment elsewhere.

They also removed and replaced our front deck and extended our rear deck, repaired our roof from leaks and repaired all the custom woodwork and drywall inside the home from water damage. It was a large job because we have a 3 story home over 5000SF. They had to get a crane with a bucket to do most of the work because the house is too tall for scaffolding or ladders. Review of work: In our area of Coastal Oregon the climate is very wet and the wind is really strong. The house was built in 2006 but the previous builder did not do a good job of weatherproofing the house for this region. When it rained we would get water inside the house on the south facing side of the home. I got a few quotes and Halvorson-Mason was priced very good compared to their competitors. I also got recommended to them by our realtor. Chris and Brian of Halvorson-Mason were great to work with. They gave us a price and kept their word about what they would do to complete the job. They are very professional and down to earth guys. I couldn't ask for better craftsmanship. Their team are top notch guys and very reliable and trustworthy. We purchased this house last year knowing we had to get it fixed and thanks to Halvorson-Mason the house looks new again. I would definitely recommend these guys to friends and will use them again in the near future. (I am already in talks with Chris about installing an elevator in the house) I don't think there isn't anything they can't do when it comes to custom homes.

Pfeifer replaced my composite roof with a standing seam metal roof this winter. My experience was…read moreessentially perfect, or as perfect as one of the most stressful home purchases you'll make can be. I got four bids from local companies and while Pfeifer was not the cheapest, they had the best combination of knowledge, experience, and price out of the four. Sam's advice about the best underlayment and important details of the panel structure and flashing made Pfeifer stand out from the pack. Pfeifer scheduled the removal of my composite roof for the next time that the weather cleared. Hector and his crew were out here early every day, and they worked hard. They worked almost every day for about a week including coming in on the weekend when the weather allowed. Once the underlayment was on they waited about a week for the panels to get produced and delivered and then Hector's team was back out at my house daily for about two more weeks installing the roof. Higher level supervisors from the company like Christian, Martin and others were regularly in touch and visited several times to make sure that the quality of the installation was up to their standards. Since I don't really know much about roofs there were a couple times when I was worried about the way several details looked. Hector was consistently patient with my questions and every single time his explanation for how he was installing the panels matched or exceeded the manufacturer recommendations I found online. My roof is significantly more complicated than I appreciated at the start of the project, but by the end I was confident that each valley, pitch change, and vent was expertly flashed and sealed. There was a small amount of additional work that needed to be done around some siding on the house, and the quality and the cost of that work were both fair. Metal roofs are a craft, and the details matter for the roof's long-term performance. Once the roof installation was done I asked an expert roofer I know to come out and provide a consultation for me about the quality of Pfeifer's work. He doesn't think very highly of roofers in general, but he was quite literally floored by the multiple signals of extremely high quality work he saw on my roof. This last time they came out, they did the staircase railing crooked it was their mistake and then they had to come out and fix it. Vicente( owner) came out in a horrible mood eating a burrito and ignoring me while I asked him questions because he was late and I had to go to an appointment. I had reminded him that something else was left undone. They were supposed to do red oxide on all the pillar tops and left one undone and so now it is rusty. He continued to be rude and act like he didn't know what I was talking about however, I speak three languages so it's kind of hard not to know what I'm talking about. For all of this and a few more things they charged $6500 which is highway robbery. Not to mention that they left nails all over my driveway which they had done the first time as well. I will take pictures of everything below. Lastly, and worst, I believe that they did open up a private box in my storage because it was turned around and boxes don't just turn themselves. That was the worst abuse. This was really private stuff that nobody was supposed to look at. I had plastic covering all over it. We all have those things and we have a right and nobody should touch our things. In the time that they came here, I treated them very respectfully. I speak three languages and conducted my business in the second language, not my native tongue. When their microwave wasn't working or they forgot to bring it which some people won't even allow you to use that, I invited them into my home and let them use my kitchen and my microwave. They left napkins with hot sauce all over my property that I had to pick up every time and I didn't even say anything about it. Instead, I politely set up a table for them to eat at and tried to create a trash bag for them. All in all being ripped off, treated rudely and disrespectfully by Vicente and having my work finished improperly is enough for me never to want to come back and I feel right telling other people To add one last caveat, there's an older woman that lives onThree Rocks Rd. who has a neck brace I don't want to give her her name. She told me NEVER to use them. She said she spent $40,000 on work and got rats in her house because they left holes in the walls. This cannot be completely substantiated, but I was nervous using them the second time after I heard her story and now I'm just grateful to get through without too much damage , just being ripped off. I told her she should leave a review. Please be careful if you use this company, if you do It's good to have a nice strong husband to guide you because you may get ripped off or abused if you are a woman by yourself or elderly. Of course this is just my experience, but there are others out there who just don't report it like the elderly lady on Three Rocks Rd. and that's the unfortunate thing.
