It had not been dropped or misused, it cracked by itself when charging. The centre refused to take responsibility, refused to provide me with a copy of the warranty, refused to provide me with the screen manufacturers details, refused to provide me with the procedure by which it was repaired, refused a refund. Doing my own research after the event I also believed they did not provide knowledgeable information to my enquiries regarding the fixing of the phone. I am left thinking that they wanted to take the money and did not care if I have a fully functioning phone.

The staff are ok not too out going but are polite. They also build computer for people who have a specific specification and the owner gave me his card was really friendly and helpful and told me to go back if I had any other problems. They are not a very big shop but the workers are very good with keeping the store clean.

Like most small computer businesses they tried to meet my requirements with a Q&A session of what i wanted the system to do. I told them i wanted a system to do uni work on and to play media through like dvd's and music but also must have the power to play the odd game or two. A year or so later after i had gained much more knowledge about computers through the internet, friends and general use of mine; i got a programme that told me the spec of my system, which uncovered the truth that Ideal had grossley unpowered my system with budget parts and lied about its capabilities. I have never went back to their shop or told friends too, i was a student with money and they took advantage of me just for the sake of a quick sale. The one star one this review is complementing the service of this service.

Give PC World at Stoke a miss and buy your computer goods online for home delivery…read more The car park is small and it's difficult to get out of due to the heavy traffic in Festival Park. The staff are less than knowledgeable and don't care about finding the product to suit your needs. The stock level is often poor. On four occasions I reserved goods at the PC World website for collection to find they weren't in stock when I went to pick them up. I've not used the repair section since they refurbished earlier this year, but they used to be useless. My laptop was insured by PC World and when I dropped it they refused to fix it as the case had cracked. They cited their policy of not repairing "cosmetic damage", and chose to ignore the fact the laptop had been tested as "not electrically safe". They did eventually do the repair, but only after I made an Ombudsman complaint under the insurance policy, and went to trading standards. If you really must use PC World, then the one in Stafford is much better and only 25 minutes away down the A34.

I have only ever been at the weekend so probably the busiest time but I have always struggled to find a member of staff when i've needed one. When I have eventually found someone they have been reasonably knowledgable and helpful. The prices for PC's and laptops aren't too bad but other items, especially accesories repairs and extended warranties can be very expensive. Many items also seem to be cheaper to buy from the website so I always check there before visiting the store.
