This is the biggest name for going and getting a pc computer. Based at Meadowhall Retail Park it's not too far from the motorway or the arena. It has quite a wide range of products from computers to mp3 players to other accessories. They also do a lot of offers and budget range of products in order to suit everyone's pockets. They do sell some apple products but it would be better to go to the apple store for these really. I got my laptop from there and I have had a few problems but as it was just under warranty they had to sort it out but as it was old stock they did try to fob me off about not much they could do and it would have to be sent away to be fixed. The staff are a bit hit and miss if you can find one that is free, some seem to have knowledge where others don't really know that much. With the sale of a product they will push the after care package onto you which is a personal choice if you think you might use it. Overall it's worth researching before you go so you have at least a rough idea what standard of computer you require, the pc world site is not too bad to have a look at products before you go. Ah another home of technical sales staff who more often than not, haven't got a clue what they're talking about. The only time we go into PC World is to look and play with items before we get them online at a ridiculously cheaper price. It's good fun asking the sales staff questions that they squirm to answer because they can only tell you what is written on the label next to the item. The Tech Guys are rip off merchants and the pricing of some items are ludicrous. £9.00 for a USB cable is an example. Fine if you need something instantly or have half an hour to waste and want to wind people up, otherwise, shop online. read more

To sum up: large store with a range of pcs but very poor customer service Quite a large store with a number of different computer models. Computers as the name would suggest are where most of the revenue is made here but it also stocks software and hardware allthough things like tv cards and other items that would extend and existing computers capabilities do seem to be of limited stock unless you pre order and choose to collect from stores. The staff however have been very rude on my previous transactions with the company, technical support demanding i pay £45 for a new power cord for a one day old laptop that had shorted itself depsite that fact i was still inside my twelve months no hassle warranty. Managers refusing to honour the price shown on display for an item i took to the counter despite that fact that i pointed out to charge me more then the marked price would be illegal. it seems they are only interested in you if you dont know what you are doing and arn't all that consumer savvy, if you know what your doing however the tide quickly turns and rudeness and arrogance ensue. read more

Quite a large store with a lot of different computer models on display. Pc world sell computers and peripherals and accessories for most models of pcs. However I find that they can be quite expensive and it is often a lot cheaper to buy things off the web. The staff at the pc world in sheffield are very helpful if you have a problem or need any help. read more

Its a quite big store has Toys R Us, O Nautural, Aldi etc. sells most the electrical goods you need, plus gaming stuff etc. It quite expensive compared to other places, ive seen things cheaper in currys and dixons when they have offers! My mate had a problem with her comp, and she bought it here, she tried to get help from erm cos it wasnt even working propa. and she said that they was really rude about it and that they treat her as though she was thick told her to take it in so she does, then they said that she shouldnt have took it in and should have rung the company itself!! so obviously that was a bad exprerience. read more

Sales assistants pounce on you as soon as you walk through the door, so be prepared to tell them you'd like to have a look round first. Staff knowldege ok, but sometimes the information they tell you is nothing more than what is on the box. read more
