BEWARE of purposeful overcharges. I went to Pterry's in Round Rock and ordered ONE combo. Instead of charging me for ONE combo, they itemized every item on the order which essentially overcharged me. I called it out to the runner before I paid but the runner told me the menu prices were wrong and outdated. I got in contact with the manager and it was explained to me that lemonade (on the combo) is not part of the combo pricing. So, they remunerated me a voucher for a FREE COMBO. So, I went to the Tech Ridge location and order ONE combo (I told them I had a free combo voucher). This time, instead of ordering lemonade with my combo, I just ordered a Sprite. I thought that would fix any overcharges. I ordered some additional items too. When I got to the window, I gave them my FREE voucher. They only discounted one burger. Again, the person who took the order itemized every item instead of inputting a "combo with a sprite". Since there was no combo on my order, the person didn't know how to take off "the entire combo" so they just chose to take offer one burger. Why do they itemize each item instead of ringing up a basic hamburger combo? So, I paid for a Sprite and fries when it should have been free. I was hoping that their business practice would be different since I went to two separate locations. They all seem to have the same practice of itemizing items instead of charging for the discounted combo. What I was told originally about lemonade being the reason for itemized pricing was not true. Finally got to try P. Terry's on my recent visit to Austin and they definitely met my expectations. Shared a chicken burger and had a double cheese burger with all the toppings. Both were sooo good! Toppings were pickles, onions, bacon and jalapenos. Got the combo which came with fries and a drink, fries were served hot and crispy!! I hate that I have to lower the stars on my review, but based on my last three orders being incorrect, I feel I have to. How hard is it to follow directions? The receipts show the correct order, but the food comes out wrong. This last time they refunded my money (after I drove all the way home to discover my veggie burger was wrong), but I had to drive back to the store. That was a pain in the butt and I totally lost my appetite after that. The burger was cold! French fries taste old not fresh.. didn't like it anymore... I came up north for my doctor appt. I lives in south. Customer service wasn't friendly. The food left in the heat. I like P. Terry's. I think it compares to In N Out... but like, a better version of In N Out if you ask me. The same concept with a very basic menu, secret sauce, etc. It's super cheap but also super good! I kept it simple with a classic cheeseburger and fries. The fries here are good but are a little on the soggy, unsalted side. They remind me of Mighty Fine Burgers' fries. Truthfully I wish there were more P. The price for what you get here is a great deal. The have seasonal milkshakes in addition to their every day ones. The burgers are pretty standard for a "fast food chain" they have a special sauce as well. I like the fries, they are cooked in peanut oil. The line can get long during lunch but it moves fairly quickly. I enjoy their breakfast sandwiches they have in the morning. The breakfast potatoes to me might just be better than the fries actually. I think the breakfast is much better than the lunch... but that's just me. There is plenty of parking and seating at this location. read more

I really love this place. The staff are always nice and are typically very accommodating of my disability. I love how I can count on the managers and GM to handle my disability with care and they always treat me well. I have never had an issue that wasn't resolved to my satisfaction. Normally the issues are because of miscommunication on my part. Yet they are always very calm and accommodating as well as friendly. I think of them almost like family. What that means is that I've never had an issue with my orders, and also that I have always received the service and food that is expected. We used to enjoy dining in at this location, but appears that they are focusing on drive thru and have let the dining room go. Food and trash on tables/floors. Drink machines closed off and labeled with handmade signs stating drinks were too popular and to get drinks behind the counter. Afternoon sun gets very strong but no longer putting down window shade to block it as in the past, so glare was almost unbearable. Guess they aren't expecting anyone to eat inside anymore. Disappointing after many happy family meals over the years at this location. Drive thru experience (what we usually do) still seems high quality but still sad to see inside has declined so much. I'm not sure why it took me so long to try this place. I have seriously been missing out! The food is so good. Maybe we lucked out, but it wasn't too busy, and the service was fast. It's a clean spot; the large windows filled the space with light. There's plenty of seating, and I didn't see a single dirty table when we went. The people bustled behind the counter to keep orders moving. There was definitely a line of cars at the drive-thru. They have a veggie burger that isn't a standard black bean burger. I really like it, while my non-vegetarian boyfriend didn't think it was that good. The fries are well seasoned and crispy. Definitely a good place to stop. read more

Some of these reviews are absolutely ridiculous. For instance, complaining about not having coffee at a lunch time when they don't ever serve it at lunch time? Go to McDonalds or Starbucks in that case. Crazy that people think a business establishment should bend their policy's just for them. P Terrys prides themselves in fresh food- probably the reason they don't serve coffee all day... I have zero complaints about this establishment. Always fresh, friendly, reasonably priced, and food served quickly. What more can you ask for? Food: 3.5/5 Burgers are alright. Ours were a little smushed and soggy but I think that's more due to the packaging. Fries are nice and crispy, a lot of times fresh! If you like more potato wedge type fries, get the breakfast potatoes. They're quite potatoey. Egg burgers pretty standard fast food breakfast food in their pterrys bun. All in all, pretty par for the course. +0.5 for the fries ;) Service: 4/5 Friendly staff, as usual. Always love the pterrys ppl Atmosphere: 3/5 Diner feeling. Clean for the most part. Surprisingly unimpressed. I have heard so much about P Terry's. Like OMG you have to try their burges. OMG their shakes are the best. OMG you have to try their chicken.. .well I don't happen to have red meat in my diet (outside of the occasional bacon) so I decided I would try the chicken burger with bacon. It was mediocre at best. To be honest, I paid about $7 if you include the "freshly squeezed" minute maid tasting lemonade. P Terry's is another Austin chain that is overpriced and overrated. I rather go to Hat Creek any day over this. My burger was bland. I don't even know if they put salt on it. It was just.. bleh. The best thing on it was the Swiss Cheese. OMG! I love this place. My wife and I try to stop at this location every time we are in Austin. Let's start with the meat. The meat is completely free of hormones and antibiotics and also vegetarian fed. I can taste the difference in their food. The food is flavourful and prepared fresh. The also have vegetarian options available. I am not a vegetarian but I sampled the veggie burger and I even thought it was amazing. They also have milkshakes, freshly squeezed lemonade, and banana bread. And yes they are all amazing. My only gripe would be with the price. But I assume you get what you pay for. read more

Having never been in a long distance relationship myself, I can only guess at the complexities and complications that arise from attempting to sustain a relationship across vast distances while getting to know a whole slew of new people you could potentially hook up with. Then you have to stave them off, ostensibly because your significant other is doing the same thing a thousand miles away. However, from observation, the whole thing appears exhausting and dumb. There are hundreds of Cosmo articles on the subject, but simply put, they don't work. So even though my heart truly lies with In-N-Out burger, my main squeeze, Lord knows I have to get my action on the side when it's not around. Basically, P Terry's and I have been doing it for years because it's convenient and awesome, and I don't really have any other options. (I'm aware In-N-Out is in Dallas, but that's still kinda long distance.) P. Terry's and I would usually meet up around Barton Springs, even though it was drive-thru only (a quickie?), and the lane was always way too tight. But the food was glorious and it was worth it. Imagine my surprise when I noticed a brand-spanking new P. Terry's being constructed off of MoPac, mere moments away from my work. It's one of life's little surprises you didn't really have time to imagine, but that you can totally get on board with after the fact. Yesterday, I craved P. Terry's all day. During lunch, I calmly ate my healthy turkey and spinach sandwich while watching "Bridezillas" with my co-workers, all while day dreaming of the delicious burger I would procure after the day was done. And, the cosmetic ladies and I laughed at a really horrible bride who spent weeks screaming and bitching at her family, only to have her outdoor Oklahoma wedding get destroyed by a severe thunderstorm. It was a beautiful lunch. But as I pulled up to the unapologetically retro facade of P. Terry's, I knew I was where I really wanted to be. It reminds me of what the old Jim's restaurants used to look like before their new fangled modernization. It was like a time-warp, and it was awesome. Light, bright, and spacious, this location offers tables to dine at both inside and out. Dogs are welcome outdoors (pick up a doggie treat by the registers), or let the kids play in the sandbox outside. With the sweltering summer heat, coupled by the fact I have neither a kid nor a dog, I figured inside would be best. The staff seems really friendly. Order turnaround was around 5 minutes or so. Not bad at all. The double with cheese with special sauce was hot, fresh, and a virtual bullseye when it comes to an all-American burger. Their fresh cut fries are a cut above the rest (one friend on Facebook summed it up best by commenting on the photo: "Those are a bag of fries I could get behind". She's an uber-healthy cyclist, too, so that's pretty much a ringing endorsement.) And last but not least--the chocolate shake. Double chocolate, I might add, in that it's chocolate ice cream swirled with chocolate syrup. It was still thick and rich even after I let it sit and watch me scarf down my dinner before I made it my dessert. Oh, P. Terry's. You are one hot piece of burger-on-the-side. I'll be seeing you again and again. However, I recently received word that In-N-Out will finally be arriving in Austin (Or, Cedar Park, technically. I'll allow it.) I've already made plans to take off work and join my coworker Liz in being first in line for the opening. There's even talk of matching T-shirts. You know, it may not sound like we don't have a hell of a lot going on, but we honestly do...but you can't deny the power of Double-Double and Animal Style. Where does this leave my relationship with both burger joints? I can only imagine In-N-Out and P. Terry's fighting over me in a Maury-style brawl on daytime TV. This could get ugly. I was super excited to see a P.Terry's pop up 4-5 miles from my house, as I had heard about how good and inexpensive it was, and wanted to try them. We went through the drive thru, as the inside and parking lot were packed. My husband and I both got the #2 (cheeseburger) all the way with fries and a drink. It was $12, which is great for two people. That's where the goodness stopped. The fries were SOAKED in grease, and every single one was limp, and just sad. As for the burger, we both agreed that it was just "meh", and way overrated and over hyped. I will likely give it another try, but I think I will just stick to Top Notch until the In n Out in Round Rock opens. My husband hates 5 Guys (greasy, and way too much as far as portions, overpriced, etc), and said that he thought the the P. Terry's burger was "worse than 5 Guys". OK.. so here it goes.. I don't think I've ever visited the same place as many time as I have visited Pt Terry's. I am very appreciative of the new location. I hated having my husband stop down south to bring home food... it was never as good after it had been in the bad for an hour and a half... So needless to say.. Me and my kiddos are happy campers... The GOOD/GREAT One of the BIGGEST reason we eat here... All natural meats, no antibiotics, no growth hormones, (no BS) Local tomatoes, fresh produce, clean, natural hand made cookies. Organic eggs, nitrate free sausage... THANK YOU. (but you still have some work to do) The burgers are the bomb. They are a perfect size. Not too big, even for a double (which is what i get) so you don't feel like you wanna hurl when you're done. Gotta have protein. They are juicy, flavorful, never soggy buns, typically the condiments are just the right amount (not dripping with mayo/ketchup/mustard). The Cookies are to die for.. my whole family loves them. A LOT. Perfect, not too sweet, never stale, never under-baked... just wonderful! The milkshakes... OMG... heaven? Yes. DELICIOUS! On any given Day. I recommend the chocolate, but then... that's always been my favorite :) The Sausage Egg Burger (tried for the first time this morning) I fell in love with it. So freaking delicious. P. Terry's burgers always hit the spot! They are fresh, juicy, and the sauce that comes in them gives it that little umff. The staff has always been great. My order always comes out correct. (as it should). I like that the burgers are not massive. You can get a double cheeseburger and not go into a food coma right after. To wash it down, do yourself a favor and order their lemonade. It is one of the BEST! Freshly squeezed lemons, just the right amount of sugar, perfection! They have a chicken and a veggie burger also. A couple of breakfast items which I have yet to try. So I'm here to hawk the Chicken Burger. A beef burger is all meaty and greasy and delicious but fattening. Veggie burgers are delicious in their own right, but they're a whole different animal. But what if you could have something that when topped special sauce and melty cheese tastes exactly the same as a beef burger, but with HALF the calories? Enter the Chicken Burger. I love a good chicken breast sandwich, but a chicken burger, as in fresh ground chicken formed into a patty, is a surprisingly hard thing to find. And P. Terry's does it right. (Please message me if you've found a better one in town!) Crunchy lettuce, crisp tomatoes, thick-cut pickles and cheese that isn't completely tasteless.
