After hearing some of my foodie friends rave about this for months I finally decided to visit after Pacha Nikkei received a reward for having one of Houston's top 19 must have desserts! Food: 5 I loved the flavor combinations of all the dishes and they didn't disappoint! This was an amazing example of how Houston restaurant week should be done. Since it gives a taste of what the menu is really like so you can decide if you want to come back or not! I was also surprised by the size of the dishes even though this restaurant is a Tapas style restaurant Ceviche Clasico: 5 Ironically the Kampachi Tiradito was a lot more like a classic Ceviche then the Ceviche Clasico. However, the Ceviche was very impressive because while it tasted fresh from the citrus notes the acidity was balanced out by the sweet potato puree. I loved how each bite was different based on what was on your fork! Kampachi Tiradito: 5 I loved how fresh the amberjack tasted because of the citrus notes from the sauce Lomo Saltado: 4 This dish was really good upscale version of bo luc lac and I loved how the potatoes absorbed the sauce! Shrimp Mac and Cheese: 5 I was really tempted to change the protein to lobster but I wanted the crunchiness of the shrimp. I was also worried the the flavor of the lobster would be muted by the cheese blend so I opted for the safer choice. I'm really happy I decided to go with the shrimp because it added to the texture and flavor! The cheese sauce reminded me of queso but it wasn't as heavy and didn't taste artificial Bread pudding: 5 I love bread pudding and this one became my number one! I loved how the basil brought a freshness to bring another dimension to the white chocolate! Service: 4 The server was nice and friendly. However, the service was a bit slow for a nicer restaurant. I am typically never a fan of fusion, but I was intrigued by this Japanese/Peruvian blend. Upon walking in, you are greeted with a beautiful and vibrant ambiance. I was surprised there were only a handful of diners. It was tapas style, so between the two of us, we shared a nice handful of dishes that left us feeling full and satisfied. We started off with the anticuchos de corazon. The meat was tender and flavorful by itself. The green sauce was a little strong, but I preferred the yellow sauce. This was accompanied with potatoes and corn. The pacha maki was the most popular maki according to our waiter. The sauce was tangy, but not overpowering, and each bite had a nice crunch from the tempura and bonito flakes. The flavor was balanced well with the bits of mango and avocado. The ceviche chalaco was very well done as the citrus sauce and sweet potato puree complemented nicely with the crunch from the fried cuttlefish and corn nuts and the freshness from the tuna. It was a standout dish. Lastly, we got the lomo saltado, the heaviest dish of the night. It tasted like your average lomo saltado, but I really appreciated the integrity of the onion and tomato being intact. It wasn't mushy like most other places and still maintained its texture against the softness of the french fries. The service was attentive and parking was plenty. Overall, it's a well thought out menu that plays ode to the chef's Japanese roots and Peruvian cultural upbringing. Well done! read more

Felt adventurous and found this place by chance while looking along Westheimer road/online maps. Lovely interior decor. Limonade was sweet & refreshing. Really enjoyed the blend of Japanese and Peruvian flavors. Chirashi ceviche (kampachi, salmon, tuna, octopus, shrimp, hokkaido scallop, ikura) was very unique! The lobster mac and cheese was so good but there was not much lobster :( Might get this again but with a different protein (I think there's a beef option). Tako Olivo (Spanish octopus & shrimp tempura) tasted amazing. Not the typical sushi roll! Arroz Negro con Mariscos had plenty of seafood and was delicious, especially the rice! I'm not bold but I still tried anticuchos de corazon (beef hearts); savory but I would only try it once haha. Kaisen ramen was more like seafood soup with noodles; also worth trying once. Dessert: homemade ice cream trio - seasonal flavors include lucuma, guanabana (soursop), & apple passionfruit sorbet - really refreshing & sweet Jose was an amazing server; enjoyed hearing his explanation for each dish! Ambience: fusion, Peruvian Japanese restaurant. Located in an older business strip, they tried to be upscale but it felt casual nonetheless, with boxes by the wall in the back area near the restroom. Service: detached but efficient adequate Food: we were here for lunch & ordered the ceviche bento box and beef lomo saltado. The ceviche fish bento box was a nice presentation but nothing special. I have had better ceviche at Mexican & other Latin restaurants. Beef lomo saltado was the star here, with great flavor and the sauce tasted just like it should in Peru. This concept of Japanese influenced Peruvian food is really delicious and the service here is great! I very highly recommend the octopus maki roll and the udon noodles are tasty too. My friend has the vegan ceviche which she was very happy with. All of the food is very flavorful and unique. I wouldn't recommend the patatas though - it's really a bowl full of aioli with some Potatoes floating around in it! Too much sauce. The service is fantastic. I didn't partake but the cocktail menu looks extremely interesting. Two thumbs up! And open for lunch with lunch specials. Kid friendly I took my 3 year old. read more

I have never been to Peru before nor have I had Peruvian food, but this restaurant seems to do it justice. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty quiet to my surprise, but I guess they close early on Sundays. We started with the anticuchos de corazon, kampachi tiradito, and chalaco. The presentation on all 3 dishes were spectacular. I loved the fried cuttlefish on the chalaco. From the sweet potato puree to the leche de tigre, all of the textures created were great. The food was great, but the service is what really topped off our experience. Our waitress was phenomenal! Yummy!!! My friend recommended that we try this place out. It's such an interesting and historical concept because my friend (who has been to Peru) told me the history of Japanese individuals in Peru. So cool because I didn't have no idea! I enjoyed the experience. Hostess and staff were helpful and friendly. We sat in the bar area because we didn't have any reservations. It is well decorated and nicely lit. It is in a strip center. The food was amazing. I particularly enjoyed the sushi and the steak. The steak has potatoes wedges which were also good, the flavors were all amazing. Very favorable food. The steak dish comes with a side of rice! The sauce that comes with the shrimp sushi was very tasty, like I wanted to box it up and take it home to eat with bread lol! Have been wanting to try this place the past few weeks, and finally had time to go in on a week night, and was seated promptly since they were not super busy. The layout is nice, and some of the walls are covered by murals. Peruvian Japanese restaurants are not common in Texas so I was curious to try as many of their dishes as I could. Our table's host, Andrew, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and provided us great service. Which in itself sets the tone for the rest of our evening. Their menu had a multiple variations of pisco sours, and extensive selection of other alcoholic beverages. We chose to have the chocolate pisco sour (limited availability), and wagyu fat washed old fashioned. Both drinks came with one large ice cube, was well presented, and tasted good. The chocolate pisco sour was slightly creamy but boozy. The old fashioned had a faint note of the wagyu fat wash without overpowering the bourbon's flavour. For food we started with Ceviche Chalaco that consisted of Peruvian mahi-mahi, octopus, aji amarillo (a type of chilli), red onions, leche de tigre, cancha, sweet potato purée, and topped with deep fried cuttlefish. It was delicious, fresh, and the sweet potato purée is an amazing addition to act as a palate cleanser for the next bite or even combination with the ceviche. Would love to get it again next time. Their seasonal east coast oysters were from Canada and was covered with miso butter foam that created amazing umami flavours on our tongues. I might get half a dozen of these next time if they're still available. The American wagyu short rib skewers were generous portions, and had been sous vide-d for 72-hours! They were chopstick/fork tender. Delicious From their maki, we got the hamachi negi, and it was not your typical hamachi fish with scallions and crispy shallots. This one was chopped up and mixed with aji amarillo chilli paste. It was okay, not our favourite. We gave them our thoughts and they were very welcoming of the feedback. Thought it would have been better to keep the integrity of the hamachi since its flavour is delicate and not mince it up and mix it up with the chilli paste. Just a dab of it on each maki roll piece would have sufficed. The lobster mac and cheese was very tasty! Chunks of perfectly cooked lobster riddled the mac and cheese and perfect on a cold night. For desserts we got Namelaka, a cream chocolate mousse with spices and chilli, and Almendras, almond cake with guanabana mousse and dots of berry compote. The chocolate mousse's texture was slightly gelatinous instead of the creamy paste that most mousses tend to have. It was a mix of savoury and sweet. Went well with the chocolate pisco sour. The almond cake was almost the perfect bites (see pic for reference) but could be slightly smaller to have the perfect ration of cake, mousse, and compote bite. Enjoyed the flavours very much. This was my first time going to Pacha Nikkei. And I was super impressed. What we ordered: Chalaco Chicken Skewers Pacha Maki Lomo Saltado Chicha morada Lucuma Cheesecake I did not feel like having anything that was too sweet so I didn't want to order a mocktail or a soda but I was told about the chicha morada by our server. It's a red corn based drink that they make in house. For $7 a glass it's a wee bit pricey but I found it very refreshing especially after I squeezed the lime in it. The chalaco (ceviche) was one of my favorite dishes of the night. It had roasted corn and hominy, huge pieces of freshly prepared fish and other seafood. The fried cuttlefish on top was such a welcoming surprise. The pacha maki while tasty, had a little bit too much wasabi in the sauce which I didn't mind but it could have been a little more balanced. The chicken skewers had too much topping but otherwise absolutely delicious. Lomo saltado was delish! The rice had such a floral aroma and an even more better texture. I literally ate every single grain of it. The thing that really blew me away was their dessert. It was a small portion but a very delicious one nonetheless. The lucuma cheesecake came with a side of whipped guanabana mousse and topped with a freshly cut gooseberry. They put in a lot of attention to detail when it comes to how the food is served, plating, etc. I opted for their Pan con chicharron sandwich, something I have later come to find out was voted as one of the top must-try sandwiches in Houston by Eater. The braised pork belly pairs nicely with the sweet potato, onion, sauce, and bun; and even though it is a filling sandwich I did not leave feeling overly full or weighed down. We have always enjoyed the food here, so we stopped in for Sunday lunch. Their lunch menu was not available, but they did have a happy hour menu with reduced prices on select starters and drinks. The happy hour Gyoza were good and we shared the Tako Olivia Maki which was unique blending flavors from both cultures. The star of our meal was the Lomo Saltado, with tender steak, onions, peppers in an addictive sauce served with rice and potato wedges. Service at the beginning of our meal was very attentive. The only negative was service was slow/missing near the end of our meal, so I ended going up to the bar to settle our bill. A lovely restaurant with great food. They were getting ready to start their 7 course Tasting Menu for only $55 per person, so we will need to check back in the future! read more

Came for dinner and I can see why it's been nominated for best Latin restaurant in Houston 2024! All the food I tried was bursting with flavor. The ceviche was refreshing and the seaweed crisp was the icing on top. Maki were delicious and embodied Peruvian and Japanese flavors perfectly. A very upscale looking restaurant when you enter, and the reception is friendly and attentive. We were promptly seated and our drink orders taken. We were the first people in at lunch and it seemed like either the kitchen was not quite ready yet, or lunches aren't able to be done within an hour. We waited a while for our server to come back with our iced teas and then had to wait a little longer for her to take our order. After I received a delicious salmon roll that I ordered because the special I ordered, fois gras, was rather small, I was told that the kitchen didn't have the sauce for the fois gras and that they can't serve it without the sauce so I had to order another main lunch course. I opted for beef with a soy/oyster sauce with potatoes, red onions, and a side of rice. This was also very delicious and the meat was tender while the onions were cooked perfectly. The ambiance is amazing here, and you definitely feel like you're in a nice place. Everyone is very friendly, and I have no complaints about the service, only the speed (or lack thereof) of our lunch. I made it back to my office (a 3-minute drive) a full hour and a half after I left. If I could do a lunch here within an hour, it would be five-star, and I'd be here regularly. read more

Our waiter was super nice and had lots to say about the menu giving us many recommendations. The food came quickly and was overall really good. However, this place is on the pricier side, so I would only come back on a special occasion. Food We Ordered: Chalaco - The Peruvian mahi-mahi, shrimp, and octopus were cooked perfectly, the leche de tigre was acidic and refreshing, but not to the point where it was overwhelming, and the fried cuttlefish provided a needed crunch that I loved. In addition, the sweet potato purée provided a creaminess adding to all the pleasant textures. The flavors were powerful and is the best ceviche I've ever had. Pacha Maki - This is your typical sushi roll you could find at any sushi restaurant, but with added sauce that is only unique to this place. The sauce elevated this roll to a whole other level, and my mom was a huge fan of it. Picante Maki - My favorite dish of the meal was this roll because of the wasabi vinaigrette the roll was soaked in and because of the crunchy chili garlic on top. I could top both of those on literally anything and it would taste 10x better. This roll is definitely a must-try. Pulpoyaki - These takoyaki could definitely be the best I have ever had in my entire life. The outside was super crispy, yet still soft on the inside while it held its shape. Service was great and he was also knowledgeable about the menu. --Hamachi Taradito (3/5) - Refreshing appetizer, a little over citrus but not too bad. Love the crunch at the end --Ceviche Chalaco (3/5) - The fish, shrimp, and octopus was fresh but the citrus was just overbearing. The sweet potato purée that they tell you to eat after your bite at the end really cleaned the palate which was cool. I enjoyed it. Instead of chips it came with fried cuttle fish to eat with your ceviche which was pretty tasty as well. --Pacha Maki (3/5) - Shrimp tempura with tuna in the roll, it was good but it didn't wow me. Your average roll. --Pulpo (3/5) - Grilled octopus tentacles had a overly charred flavor to it. The sauce on the plate was like a olive purée which my friends did not enjoy. The octopus was tender though. --Lomo Saltado (3.5/5) - The meat was very very charred taste unfortunately. Other than that it would have been really good because I enjoyed the fries underneath. Spectacular! We went here for a friend's birthday and we tried a lot of different dishes. Every single bite was incredible! The beef is outstanding, the ceviche is incredible, the black rice was out of this world but the real jewel of the crown was the octopus. For drinks pisco is amazing of course and they have a variety of cocktails. We had churrros for dessert and it was the perfect ending. Hugely recomendable. Amazing service and great ambience. Peru has one of the largest ethnic Japanese diasporic population in the world. The influence of this flourishing community is felt in many aspects of Peruvian culture, including Nikkei cuisine, which represents the marriage of Japanese and Peruvian ingredients, techniques, and traditions. Chef-owner Masaru Fukuda, descended from Japanese immigrants to Peru himself, launched this restaurant as a love letter to his heritage after training at Houston stalwarts Latin Bites and Kata Robata. It requires a hike out to West Houston, but an incredibly unique and vibrant experience awaits. The inside sparkles with a compelling modern design and colorful, futuristic artwork across the walls. I will say something about the room feels a little stale and chain-like despite the charming décor; maybe it would help to dim the lights for dinner service? The staff is prompt and friendly, and the drink menu is full of quality original cocktails. My favorites thus far have been an eye-opening wagyu-washed Old Fashioned spiked with shiitake and plum bitters and, of course, some of their innovative Pisco sour variations. I've had the opportunity to try most of the menu across two visits: Papitas la Huancaina - an awesome rendition of a classic Peruvian hors d'oeurve with little potatoes under a vibrant sauce made from cheese and peppers, served with a hard-boiled quail egg and pale purple olive aioli. Lovely in aesthetic and flavor. Anticuchos de Corazon - skewered marinated beef heart over a cream of Peruvian black mint. The heart is just a muscle like any other animal meat, so don't be squeamish and try this mildly chewy but juicy classic. Gyoza - the zesty yuzu-kosho and savory nori and bonito elevate these fried pork dumplings, but this one was less memorable than the others. Maki - the sushi is less impressive but still well above average and worth trying. The Vegan Maki played with different textures and hues with an unusual pairing of things like asparagus, piquillo pepper, daikon, and avocado. The Hamachi Negi relied on the tried-and-true yellowtail and scallion combo, with a Nikkei twist coming from the punchy, fruity aji amarillo. The spicy tuna-containing Picante Maki was the most unique of these rolls with deep, hot, and slightly bitter tones; the cucumber and avocado were key for refreshing counterbalance. Ceviches - I rank the four I tried as follows: 1. Chirashi 2. Clasico 3. Nikkei 4. Lobster. The Chirashi comes with a ton of fresh raw seafood (six different types plus plump roe) with a creamy yellow sauce theatrically poured over top. I did notice the chunks of fish were much smaller on my second visit; not sure if due to normal variation or a conscious business decision. The Clasico had delicate chunks of mahi mahi soaking in a zippy leche de tigre broth with dollops of sweet potato and crunchy corn nuts. The Nikkei with tuna sashimi (not "cooked" in citrus like the others!) gets points for having the most addicting sauce, a creamy and savory concoction spiked with chorizo-infused oil. We were spooning it over everything. The Lobster ceviche is the prettiest of the lot, but ultimately rather mild and on the sweeter side thanks to the soursop-based marinade. Arroz Negro con Mariscos - a rice dish drenched in intense squid ink, and dotted with shrimp, clams, mussels, cuttle fish, octopus, and cod squid ink with dollops of yuzu-kosho aioli. Like mainlining the essence of the ocean. The only slip-up was the mussels, which were funky and subpar. Very shareable. Lobster Mac n Cheese - usually kind of gimmicky, but this version was much better than the norm with a complex flavor featuring three cheeses (parmesan, gouda, cheddar) melted into a Peruvian-inspired bechamel. The lobster adds a subtle sweetness but honestly mostly gets overpowered. Great one to share. Kaisen Ramen - a genuinely excellent bowl of soup containing thick egg noodles, a bunch of seafood including head-on prawns, kelp, toasted corn. The mussels in here were better than in the black rice. Pulpo - three thick, glazed octopus tentacles that were impressively tender but not my cup of tea, exclusively because I am not a fan of olives, which was the predominant flavor. Lucuma Cheesecake - a creamy and caramelly dessert made from lucuma fruit and garnished with aguaymanto (cape gooseberry), both native to Peru. Solid last bite. Pacha Nikkei is apparently worthy of an essay, as this might very well be my longest review ever. The concept is heartfelt and distinct, each sauce is phenomenal, and every plate is like a work of art, reflecting the chef's background in graphic design. This is a really nice restaurant to have a date night at. The dim lighting creates a very intimate vibe. Having Japanese Peruvian fusion served tapas style, how much more romantic can it get? We tried a couple of items our server recommended. The menu itself is not extensive. Salmon Uni Temari Sushi: (1 piece per order) (2/5) I personally love uni and salmon but never had it together, so ordering this was a no brainer. It was probably my least favorite. For whatever reason, when you have a sip of water immediately after your bite, it leaves a very pungent, fishy aftertaste. This was what threw me off. My partner experienced the same thing so I know it wasn't just me. East coast oysters w/ miso butter: (4/5) MKT price was $3.50. Canadian oysters with a miso butter sauce was pretty good, it didn't need the lemon that came with the order. It was buttery and tangy. Add uni (5/5) The uni gave more depth and flavor to the oyster, and blended very well with the miso butter. Loved it and would add uni to it going forward. They charge an extra $4 for each uni piece added. Chalako ceviche: (4/5) Really good ceviche. It had some fried cuttlefish, mahi-mahi, tako, cancha, and some sweet potato purée as a palate cleanser between bites. Best eaten with a huge spoon so you can get a bit of everything. Anticuchos de Corazon (beef heart): (3/5) I've never had beef heart before and thought this was ok. It wasn't really gamey, it just tasted like very tender beef that is a bit rubbery. It came with some potatoes and sauces. I probably wouldn't order it again. It didn't strike to me as anything special but it's not bad. I believe they could cut the beef heart in half and make this a smaller portion. Pulpo (grilled octopus tentacle): (3/5) Another so-so dish, nothing struck out to me. It had the same presentation as the beef heart, with the potatoes and cancha, but with different sauces. At this point I am pretty over it with potatoes. This could also be made as a smaller portion. Picante Maki: (5/5) Pacha Maki: (5/5) The makis were the star of the show tonight. I know Chef Masaru used to be at Kata Robata and it shows. The sauces on both were amazing, and all the different Japanese and Peruvian ingredients complimented each other wonderfully. It was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. I'm still thinking about it now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Almond cake: (5/5) Delicious dessert to end my meal. It was very light. The almond cake came with some cream on top, and some sort of dried fruit? I am not sure but it was delicious. It was paired with two sauces: chocolate and raspberry. Overall, the restaurant is decent, but the price is a bit steep. We tried about 8 different dishes, and our meal totaled out to be $170 for 2 people. It is pretty close to about $20 per dish. I will definitely come back for HH or lunch. Outstanding burst of flavors on their Ceviche's. We enjoyed the Umami Ceviche combination of Japanese uni, king crab, kampachi, octopus, uni-gooseberry leche de tigre, avocado puree, cucumber, blueberry puree, micro cilantro and truflle oil. Plump sweet East coast oysters, I highly recommend the KING CRAB UNI IKURA CHAWANMUSHI a traditional Japanese egg custard soup/King crab, uni, ikura, chicken, king oyster mushroom and choclo a Peruvian variety of corn. Service was attentive thanks to the Staff & Jose at the bar. We also got a chance to meet Chef & Owner Masa which was so gracious to make some sashimi off the menu trio of Tuna, Salmon & Yellow tail plus Japanese Uni combo. I came here with my SO after my colleagues recommended this place as "the best ceviche and ramen I have ever eaten." Naturally, I had to go try and see if that was true. My partner and I got Ceviche Nikkei (tuna), the Kaisen Ramen (seafood), and the Pan Con Chicharron (Pork belly sandwich). All of the food was really good - not too salty and was so fresh. The ramen was one of the best ramen I have had. There was a lot of seafood, and the noodles were chewy. The broth had so much seafood flavor that I was thinking of just asking for another bowl of the broth itself. The ceviche was extremely fish. I am not a fan of tuna, but the tuna melted in my mouth. The pork belly sandwich was also excellent. It was a crispy bun with a very nice cut of pork belly. The service was excellent in the middle of the day on Saturday, and the ambiance was very nice. Since I scored my half-Peruvian hubby over a decade ago, I've had A LOT of Peruvian food - from hole-in-the-wall to high-end and homemade. Now that Austin's Ceviche 7 has lost its touch, I can confidently say that Pacha Nikkei's is my favorite Peruvian restaurant (albeit the most expensive). High-quality ingredients and an expert hand in the kitchen are just cause for the hefty price tag. Appetizers such as the causa and papitas la huancaina are updated just enough to give some flare while still maintaining authentic flavors. My favorite starters are the Ceviche Chalaco topped with fried cuttlefish, and anticuchos, which my two-year old even loved. For entrees, the lomo saltado is an absolute must-try, the pulpo (grilled octopus) is a ten-star tentacle, and the arroz negro con mariscos is a celebration of seafood, reminiscent of paella. Make sure to finish the meal with their lucuma cheesecake, which is topped with an adorable fresh whole lucuma. Note - they have lunch specials, but at night the place feels a little loungy/clubbish. They were super accommodating for my kiddos at lunchtime and even brought out rice and chicken skewers for my toddler, but I likely wouldn't bring them during dinner. read more

Good service. Chill music, nice art work on the walls. The star of the evening was the wagu skewers, melted like butter. Absolutely delicious. Expected slightly more flavor on the yukitas, not a fan of the sauces. One sauce tasted like nothing, the other like tartar sauce and the third had a spice I couldn't recognize. Loved the food at this place. Got to try different plates and they were all good but the lomo salteado with mac and cheese was superb. I am definitively going back to get me some more lomo salteado WITH MAC AND CHEESE! I also liked the the tako olivi maki and the causa limeña. Overall the experience was very good. I did feel like you might have to order more than one dish because they are quite small. The servers were very nice and helpful explaining the menu. Pacha Nikkei is a unique fusion of Peruvian and Japanese food, and after eating lunch there, I'm certain this place will start getting some serious love as others discover this sleeper. This is not a sushi restaurant. (BUT they do have a small assortments of rolls.) You're just not going to be happy if you come here expecting tons of nigiri, hand rolls, rolls, etc. Instead the menu is focused on Peruvian food with brush strokes of Japanese influence, which is the perfect way to discuss Peru's long standing relationship with Japan. I'm not going to write out a whole history book on it, but long story short, Peru was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with Japan wayyyyy back in 1873. So, their food is first and foremost Peruvian, but there are hints of Japanese influence in so many things, and this is what Pacha Nikkei is bringing to its customers. It's really unique, and more often than not, it's really delicious. The menu offers a fairly well rounded assortment of options. There's about 7 or 8 appetizers including skewered chicken, fried gyoza, and other shareable bites. Like I mentioned above, there is a maki section that offers a handful of sushi rolls and a few have heavy Peruvian influence, like their Pacha, Picante, and Taka Olivo rolls, but they also offer spicy Salmon, and a run of the mill tuna roll for those not looking to get out of their sushi comfort zone. The big show stoppers, in my opinion, are the ceviches. There's about 10 listed in the menu and all offer various citrus cooked raw seafood mixed with traditional Peruvian ceviche ingredients, others are Japanese forward, and some have both. Pricing ranges around $20-$25 for the ceviches, and they're big enough to be a solo meal, or make for great table sharing. They offer a Hot Plate section for those looking for a more traditional cooked dish. There's octopus, beef tenderloin, Lobster Mac n Cheese, etc. Finally, there's a mini lunch special menu that has a salad, a pork belly sandwich, katsu don (fried pork), and other lunch bites ranging from $10-$16. Overall, everything we ordered tasted great, and was beautifully plated. Service was very on point. Our main waiter checked on us regularly and we had one or two other members of the staff swing by to chat us up and make sure we had everything we needed. My only issue, and they're not deal breakers but worth mentioning, would be the location and build out. The interior feels like a generic mid grade sushi restaurant. It's clean, yay, but also just very homogenous. It's a stark contrast for how knock out pretty and tasty the food is. Overall, I strongly suggest swinging by and giving them a try. It's a very unique subset of food and something you're not going to find anywhere else in town. Poke around the menu and find some favorites, tell your friends, and help this under the radar sleeper gain some needed followers. read more

I had no expectations coming here with a group for dinner, and just like Yordan Alvarez, they hit it out the ballpark! Our awesome, amazing and attentive server Jose, gave some great recommendations. Here is our group consensus: Chirashi Ceviche: It was our absolute favorite! In fact, we ordered a second one because it was so good. Ceviche Chalaco: Also very good with the fried cuttlefish. Lobster Mac n Cheese: We all really liked this one. It was very cheesy but not overwhelming. Papitas a la Huancaina: Probably our least favorite. It was a cold dish but the cheese sauce was too much. Anticuchos de Corazon: Beef heart skewers. This was good, however a bit gamey for me. Gyoza Frita: Crunchy with good flavor Hamachi Negi: very light and fresh. Delish. Oysters: i dont remember the name of this because it was a recommendation from our server, but it had some kind of foamy buttery sauce on top and it was to die for! We had a delightful meal at Pacha Nikkei! Our server was excellent, and each and every dish we tried was so good: -Chicken skewers: The chicken was very tender, and I loved the sweet tari sauce on top of the chicken. And the bonita flakes added a nice slight crunch. Perfectly executed. -Ceviche nikkei: We ordered the ceviche nikkei because we saw that it included the name of the restaurant and thought that it must be good then--we were right! This dish was light and flavorful, so delicious. -Pulpo: The octopus was perfectly cooked, and I particularly liked the purple sauce that dotted the side of the plate. -Chocolate mousse dessert: We had a chocolate mousse for dessert and thought it was the perfect in to a delightful meal! read more
