Spent a bit over $20k to asphalt my circular drive this Sptimg. The estimate and sales was Corey Haulrr. He promised great work with guarantee and follow up Completed job left the area fairly clean except a few water bottles scattered by the crew. However, within a few weeks weeds came up on edges. I texted and sent photos right away to Mr. Hauler and he said would come and check it out in the next few days. He never did... so I called and spoke with him. Again he said would check things out. Again he never did So all I can assume is either the chemical weed repellent was not placed or sephslt too thin to keep this from happening. ZERO Customer Service after the project was completed. Have refused to answer the phone, just leave a message and will return your call or mailbox is full, good bye. They have not provided a copy of the quote/invoice/payment/ warranty or any paperwork after 10 months of attempting to contact them. Have never received a call back, when on those rare times, I could leave a message. I now believe they are COOKING the books by their refusal to provide any paperwork, even after they have accepted payment. I will be contacting my friends in Olympia requesting they conduct a review of their failure to conduct the business in a legal way; such as tax evasion and failure to comply with their Washington State Business Charter, their license to conduct business. We hired Pacific Asphalt, owned by James Aaron Mesker, to install a brand-new driveway for $11,000, and the experience has been a complete disappointment. Within just six months, the asphalt began cracking, separating, and breaking apart. There are now large divots, dips, and uneven areas throughout the driveway, and several sections collect water that never did prior to their installation. After these problems started, James ignored us for weeks on end, refusing to return our calls or address the issues under the warranty. When he finally sent someone out, the worker admitted that he normally doesn't even do patch jobs. Unsurprisingly, the result was a sloppy patch job -- and mind you, we paid for a new, seamless driveway and are now left with uneven, patchy areas right at the front of our residence that still collect water. Despite their 10-year warranty, our repeated attempts to reach James have gone unanswered. The company has completely ghosted us and failed to take any responsibility for the poor workmanship. We paid for a brand-new, high-quality driveway and were left with a deteriorating, uneven mess. We've since had several reputable asphalt companies inspect the driveway, and each one confirmed that Pacific Asphalt did substandard work that does not meet professional standards. Every contractor told us the only real solution is to tear out and replace the entire driveway, meaning we'll have to pay again to fix their mistakes. To make matters worse, other asphalt professionals informed us that we're not the only ones dealing with these same issues from Pacific Asphalt and that the same owner, James Aaron Mesker, also operates Black Rock Paving in Texas -- a company with similar complaints and bad reviews. Because Pacific Asphalt has failed to honor their warranty or take responsibility, we are now pursuing legal action to recover our losses. This company makes big promises, pressures you with "neighborhood specials," and then disappears after the job is done. I hired Pacific Asphalt in March 2025 to pave my 2,800 sq ft driveway. The salesperson, Corry, made big promises about quality and even an 8-year warranty. After the job, I raised concerns but was told not to worry and that any issues would be fixed. Within one month, the driveway started breaking apart and turning into gravel. I called in June 2025, but Corry stopped answering. They also failed to clean up, leaving piles of asphalt blocking my neighbor's driveway. Thankfully, my neighbor has been patient and hasn't reported it. When I finally reached the owner, James, he asked for photos. Two days later Corry called, offering to "fix" it with leftover asphalt only if I paid $5 per sq ft. He blamed me for "not maintaining" the asphalt, even comparing it to maintaining a car--despite the supposed warranty. No residential asphalt should fail in six months. This company does poor-quality work, avoids responsibility, and refuses to honor its warranty. I strongly recommend avoiding Pacific Asphalt. I will be reporting this company to L&I and other authorities for what I consider close to a scam. read more

I realize it is a busy time...but begged them to finally do an estimate, then followed up w/ several text messages and emails. They never responded even w/ probing and trying to be nice. I have kept copies, but not a well run company. Finally had it done by a rival that answers the phone, text and emails. Pathetic and sad read more

We checked with two neighbors who used this company a couple of years ago, and they were pleased with them. So, we decided to do it. They way underestimated the price which was almost double from what we expected from their first estimate. They said that the asphalt would be 3 inches thick and we questioned that in some areas. Now, we have weeds growing through. It started with one weed, now 4 more. The asphalt was laid June 2025. read more

I inquired via phone and was told by Corey that they 'the company' couldn't pave my driveway until next spring. A month or so later I get a call from Corey that they had a job at the Silverdale Hotel that got postponed because an irrigation line was damaged. I was told by Corey they had hot asphalt and a crew ready so they came out same day. Corey quoted $8200 for about 100sq/yards of laid asphalt. Turns out he has more asphalt from another job and I am already about 130sq/yds in on the job so it doesn't seem like much more. Corey says they have about half as much asphalt but they should be able to pave a bit more. Well it turns out they covered an area on the parking lot that didn't really need paving and instead didn't finish the drive and left it unfinished. The sales process was stretchy and four times the estimate (original estimate. $8200) at $35k. I understand I ok'd additional asphalt but Corey made it seem like it wasn't going to be 4 times his quote. I will not do business with this salesman again. Shame on me for allowing myself to be taken advantage of. Corey is certainly a salesman so buyer be beware! Unfortunately the job looks unfinished and subpar! read more
