He identified the culprit as her current high blood pressure medication and changed it immediately. After that, my mom condition improved 100% and she was back doing her daily tasks. He had her do other tests and found she may have attr-cm, but needed a heart biopsy to confirm. He performed the heart biopsy and pathologist did confirm she had the protein in her heart muscle that causes ATTR_CM, something that her former cardiologist did not catch. He then had his staff coordinate the process to have her on Attruby medication. Dr. Banerjee is a true professional, experienced, keeps up with latest medical technologies and pharmaceutical advancements, caring, easy to talk to...we are very fortunate to have him as a cardiologist. Which I guess is obviously a big no no? I mean if I'm wrong, tell me. Don't tell me ok and end up denying me the next day. I wasted so much time making an appointment and showing up to see a doctor that I couldn't see. I feel like that nurse I spoke to could have informed me the moment I made the request. I should've gotten recommendations of doctors within my current network or something? I feel really bad for wasting another doctors time when she could have been helping someone else. What made it worse was when I overheard another worker calling me back and saying "you know what, that's her problem and not ours" right before I said hello. WTF really unprofessional. That was the call that I was told I was denied and I know she was talking about me. Dr. Au is caring, always patient with me and answers all my questions. After this and other previous incidents, I'm sad to change physicians due to something that wasn't Dr. Au's fault.

I've stayed with him for years because having a doctor who knows you not just by reading off doctors office charts but on a personal level is also great! He has two separate office locations. His main in Liliha just outside of downtown/chinatown and another in Wahiawa. There was only once I had to see him in Wahiawa. His office hours that one day which I can't even remember what day that was. Also what a relief to be able to see Dr. Lam during Covid pandemic when he was operating via Tele-Health. His office is not the fanciest that you'd see at the major hospitals around Honolulu. But you do receive excellent service from his administrative staff Cathleen, the RN and him as well. Scheduling an appointment during office hours is simple, and if you need immediate medical emergency, you're recommended to visit ER. I'm not sure if he's welcoming new patients. But he is bilingual in English and Cantonese. I'm grateful to have found Dr. Lam because I know I can trust him with all my health concerns. Dr. Lam has been my PCP for quite some time now, I've honestly lost track of how many years, and surprised I'm only leaving this here on Yelp. Dr. Lam will NOT see you in-person at his office if you just went to the hospital/ER, if you recently travelled in the past 2 weeks, etc. So, you're basically screwed if you're an individual currently working in a ER/hospital, if you're an individual currently working as a flight attendant or pilot, or if you're and individual currently working as an EMS or police officer who goes to the ER/hospital with patients because you're banned from going to Dr. Lam's office. Dr. Lam's staff will tell you that you "may have" been exposed to COVID19 when you went to the hospital/ER (exposed to COVID19 sick people at ER) so you cannot come to see Dr. Lam at his office. Dr. Lam only allows telehealth for the aforementioned. I guess hospitals/ERs are operating in such unsanitary conditions and are super spreaders of COVID19 (Where's the science, doc?!)?!!! How can Dr. Lam check your lymphs, how can Dr. Lam check your blood pressure, etc. remotely via telehealth? Maybe Dr. Lam is a magician too?! Does Dr. Lam deny in-person office visits if you're and individual living with someone who just returned to the ER/hospital? Does Dr. Lam deny in-person office visits if you're and individual who lives with a family member who just returned from traveling to Vegas? Where do you draw the line? COVID19 has brought out the worst in Dr. Lam. Can't Dr. Lam take a patient's temperature or offer a COVID19 rapid test or allow patients to bring a COVID19 rapid test result or something so they can be seen in-person at his office? I know that Dr. Lam wants to keep his other patients from getting COVID19, but his logic/exemptions take it to the next level?!!! It doesn't matter if you're vax'd. Most people go to the hospital/ER because of a health emergency. Hospital/ER doctors often discharge patients with orders to follow-up with a primary physician. It is NOT reassuring to have Dr. Lam's staff tell you that you canNOT come to the office because you just came from the hospital/ER--and you "may have" been exposed to COVID19. HEADS UP: Dr. Lam will call you hours later in the afternoon (after you call his staff first thing in the morning) and tell you that he doesn't need to see you because he can make referrals to other doctors/specialists and avoid an in-person office visit. So much for "First, do no harm..." Is the doctor shortage allowing doctors to be this selective in who gets seen? This is so inhumane and irrational.

I needed a chest x-ray only for my New Zealand immigration application. I called ahead, explained everything clearly, and was told that it wouldn't be a problem. But when I showed up for my appointment, Dr. Lin suddenly refused to help unless I paid $400 in cash for a full physical exam, which didn't even include the x-ray I came in for. I showed him my official documentation confirming that only a chest x-ray was required. He ignored it completely, gave no explanation, and just kept repeating the same demand. And it got worse. Even though no medical service was provided, the staff refused to give me back my paperwork (which I had printed and brought myself) unless I paid $100 cash for a "referral fee" to the imaging clinic. I've never heard of a doctor charging someone just to send them elsewhere. It felt exploitative and inappropriate. Frustrated, I contacted Immigration New Zealand and filed a complaint. Their Health Assessment Team confirmed that I was right; Dr. Lin should have been able to submit a chest x-ray-only case and was directly informed on how to do so. But when I followed up with his clinic, the staff acted like they didn't believe me and questioned whether Immigration had even contacted them. Throughout this entire process, the office was rude, disorganized, and impossible to get a straight answer from. I was constantly put on hold, told I'd get a call back (which rarely came), and felt like I was chasing them just to get basic information. Eventually, I was told (with no explanation) that Dr. Lin could now submit my case without seeing me. But of course, only if I paid another $100 in cash. At that point, I mailed a check instead. He cashed it immediately, but didn't submit my case until several days later. The whole thing felt shady. Between the cash-only policy, the refusal to return documents, the bogus referral fee, and the delays, this wasn't just bad service; it was unethical and completely unacceptable. This is someone who's supposed to be working with immigration systems. He should be held to a much higher standard. If you're dealing with immigration medical exams or any medical issue, go anywhere else if you can. I wouldn't trust this clinic with anything important.

The young ladies in the office always fill out a paper telling me when my next appointment is and a review of any tests or procedures that doc wants done. I would give Doctor Nishikawa a thousand stars if I could. He is truly one of a kind. In this day and age of health care, more often than not, you're just a number but not with Doctor Nishikawa and staff. They always show care and concern and are always respectful and nice to me.
