While I usually go to the Campbell location (which I still think is the best), I was in Sunnyvale tonight and they had a "Buy $50, get a $20 gift card" offer that was too tempting. The good: * The facility is new and clean * The food came out quickly once ordered. The mediocre: * The sushi tacos were decent. The rice was well prepared and the salmon was tasty . The yellowtail was excellent, but the ahi was dry. They put the mayo on with a trowel, and they didn't bother to bring any soy sauce until we asked (see comments on the service below). * The $33 sea bass plate was underwhelming. A tiny piece of slightly overcooked fish was served with a huge pile of slightly bitter and undercooked brussell sprouts. The $3 crab mashed potatoes were a watery mess. The bad: * The server was initially friendly, but once she took our order, she never came back unless we flagged her down or got other employees to find her. * The server never refilled drinks (even after asking). I had to walk over to the bar to get more water. * Server never once came back to ask if the food was good or not. The only thing she came back for was the closing time notification and the bill. I had to go find her (again) to get the $20 gift card as promised and to enter my rewards card info. Overall, the place is just OK. The Campbell location has better food and more attentive staff. read more

I like this restaurant but Victor is not my favorite waiter. When ordering I am specific because I come here all the time and I like my food prepared a certain way. I was unhappy with the service provided by Victor for a few things. 1) when I ordered water I asked for ice, he forgot about that. 2) we ordered our Salmon medium well and it came out overcooked and chewy 3) When taking our order he had an attitude and did not listen to us attentively while ordering 4) he never came to check on us and ask if we needed anything else other than they check. I like Pacific Catch but I'm not fond of this particular location when Victor is working. I did address Victor and the manager in duty and young white guy who didn't seem to be listening to me and all he said was sorry. We had a nice & efficient waiter named Marvin who took our order after giving us some time to think about what we wanted to eat. He was really fast with bringing our drinks, bringing our food out and asking us if we needed anything & just how we were doing. He was really on top of his game the whole night. I ordered the Mexican Grill Chile-Lime Shrimp Bowl GF which was delicious. It was my first time here so I wanted to explore my taste buds a bit and I think I made the best choice. This dish I would say is really filling because I few bites in and I had to take it home to eat later. The plate not only looked pretty but tasted good as well. It does have a little spice in it so if you have sensitive taste buds I wouldn't recommend but if you mind a little spice then I would definitely recommend this. I honestly would order this again the next time I'm here! The service 10/10. The food was 10/10 and the restaurant was 10/10. The restaurant has a nice view because they have their windows open and you can hear the people, cars and everything outside which most people wouldn't like but the view is nice. Had drinks/dinner with two of my colleagues and was some of the worst money ever spent on dinner. Now for the details of my review: Space/Ambiance - It's industrial and simple. The space is OK, and reflects the newness of the building and new developments in downtown Sunnyvale, but I couldn't detect a theme and the horrendously bright lights and the massive space made it feel like a cafeteria or a fast food joint. Definitely not unique or interesting and not indicative of a high-end restaurant. Rating 2 Stars: ** Menu - Cocktails/Beer: Pretty standard cocktail fair and a short uninteresting beer list. I think the happy hour had 4 choices on tap for and 6 for regular. Bottle/can choices were limited and typical of a chain restaurant in bed with Inbev-AB. Completely lacked a creative cocktail menu and any focus on local breweries. Rating: 3-Stars: *** Menu - Food: My colleagues and I could never figure out what the focus was or what cuisine was supposed to be. There were ceviches, fish dishes, tacos and poké bowls and burgers with some surf and turf. There are mentions of Thai, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese, but oddly placed among sides and other items. In my opinion restaurants that try to do too much tend to not do anything well and this is what is happening here. If the restaurant reads this review, please pick a lane and try to do that well. Halibut is actually a difficult fish to prepare and these guys blew it. It was dry and chewy (very overcooked) and completely flavorless. Probably some of the worst halibut I've had in my life. My sides, Crab Mac N Cheese, was pretty good and Curry (unidentifiable style of curry) veggies was really awful didn't add to, complement or support the leading lady (fish) in any way. Overall a very good takeout experience. We ordered about every permutation of the fresh catch menu (sides and fish) and they were all very good. One of the orders of miso salmon was slightly overcooked, but everyone was happy and the portions were huge. The kids were also happy with their salmon and rice. Newest Pacific Catch location! And probably one of the best things that has happened to downtown Sunnyvale in a long time. Great dining experience here! F O O D: Everything is very fresh with appealing aesthetics. The highlight for me was the Love Bites Platter ($49). It's a combo of oysters, jumbo shrimps, and six ceviche bites on spoons. The seafood is all very fresh. Best part for me were the fresh plump oysters. All beautifully presented on ice in a really large platter. It's great for sharing, but I actually ate it all myself, with the exception of a few jumbo shrimps. The platter is part of their "Summer of Love" menu, which I think runs through the end of September. The one item that didn't really hit for me was the macaroni salad. Wasn't bad, just a bit bland. S E R V I C E: Excellent! Everyone is very welcoming here. I'd say of the many Pacific Catch restaurants I've been to, this one excels in customer service. Servers, management and just everyone was super friendly despite being extremely busy. In particular, Nina, was really welcoming, super helpful and knowledgeable. Recently visited this place because of their new Shellebration menu. I had the Surf & Turf with Shrimp for $39. I ordered the grilled chimichurri steak cooked medium and it was perfect and the chimichurri was good too. The four butterfly shrimp were OK but what really stood out and surprised me was how good the Mexican cauliflower with mashed potatoes were. I don't know how they prepared them but they were fantastic. I don't care for cauliflower that much and was planning on putting them aside and eating everything else but ended up finishing it all. The cauliflower was that good. Since I came at opening, the service was very good and received refills quickly. This was my first time visiting this location and the ambiance was quite nice. I'm writing this review for the bartender, Joeseph was awesome! Today I went in starving and with such a sad attitude, it was just one of those days that you need someone to talk to. I went in with no one to chat with and by myself, that is usually ok and wonderful but today was a different story. I sat down at the bar with maybe 3 other tables with guests. Joeseph seemed to be the only one waiting tables and he was doing it with one arm (the other was in a sling). We chatted briefly about his arm and this really broke the ice. We randomly started chatting about life, and all it's difficulties. Joeseph listened and contributed with his own struggles. This helped me feel less crazy about crying at the bar by myself because it's just one of those days. Joeseph suggested the guava Margarita and I ordered the Westcoast Greens & Bowls, the salmon wasn't fully cooked when they brought it to me but Joeseph had another fish made, it came out extra crispy and wonderful, everything else in the bowl was awesome on the first try, I ate most of it. Been to Pacific Catch before but this was my first time at this location. They definitely seem to still be getting their logistics sorted out, took quite a while before we could flag down a server to help with our order, despite it not seeming to be too busy in the restaurant. That said, once we finally got our food, it suddenly became familiar once again. Fresh seafood (we opted for the platter with a ceviche sampler and oysters and shrimp) was indeed fresh and delicious. I had the sushi bowl which gave me an enormous amount of rice with a healthy amount of fish. The food was presented well, the drinks were solid as well. Happy hour is 3-6pm Monday through Friday. The menu includes a couple sushi rolls, a few poke and ceviche options, select shareables as well as select alcoholic drinks. The classic sea bass ceviche had good flavor with a nice level of acidity. The salmon burger was buttery with the black sesame bun and came with a tasty slaw. Ever since this location opened, the service and food has been going downhill. We made reservations for my partner's birthday, and the service was HORRIBLE. Our server didn't greet us until we'd been sitting for 15 minutes, and the server only checked in maybe twice out of our entire 1.5hr there -- most of it was because we were waiting to get her attention. We were never offered drink refills, asked if we'd like water, or if we wanted anything else to drink even though our drink ware was empty and we tried to get our server's attention. We had to get a dessert menu ourselves because we'd finished our meal and been waiting 30min without even a single check-in from the server. After requesting to speak to the manager, it is clear that the issue is poor management. The manager, Matt, was dismissive and rude of our experience; his response was "it's California law to not offer water unless requested". So that's the reason servers don't check in and see if you want anything else to drink when you've clearly had an empty glass for over a half hour? Pathetic. There were errors with the food service as well, and I expect other servers are as poorly trained as ours. All of our horrible experience falls on poor management. As for the food, some of it was fine, but we've had better food in previous experiences her and at other locations. Overall, Pacific Catch seems to really fail at making it a special occasion for birthdays. This is the 2nd time this chain has had one of the worst dining experiences we've had as a family. If you have a special occasion, don't bother coming here -- especially if you are a person of color. Chances seem pretty high they are going to ignore you. read more

Took my mom there for Valentine's with my brother. We're able to secure same day reservations- all we could get was 5:30 and they kindly suggested we not stay too long. Made total sense. My mother had raved about this place having only eaten there one time, but said it's a beautiful space an loved the energy. It's pretty new location - 4 months open - and it is indeed a lovely space. For a seafood restaurant that only features for main types of fish, it's a super diverse menu! There are so many things to choose from, and we tried a number of dishes, and were very pleased with all of them! Love the choices of preparation for the main for fish, tried a couple of appetizers, one of the sushi's and the guacamole-poke. Very good. My main was the mixed grill of salmon, kanpachi and shrimp - entrees get choice of two sides, I chose broccolini and kimchi rice. Beautiful presentation and just the right amount of spice. My fish was possibly slightly, very slightly overcooked, but I should've probably noted that with the waiter that I like things a little under done. Other dishes ordered, were fish and chips - classic, and a salmon which went over very well. Also note that the side orders look really interesting and I look forward to trying others on next visit. I need to note about the service. Our waiter, Marvin, was wonderful! He gave us great service, and was very patient with our ordering, knew the menu very well. He knew how each dish was flavored with spice and heat, and was on top of everything and very gracious. All of the runners were very efficient and very friendly. We also spent a little time with the restaurant manager, who seems like a great guy, has a pulse on everything that's going on in his restaurant and just seems to be someone that would be cool to work for. We didn't go super deep into the cocktail program or wine program but, Tuesday night is half off wine bottle night, which we will take advantage of next time, I had a blood orange margarita that was quite delicious and for "chain" restaurant, they had a pretty cool wine list. All and all, an excellent evening out! I vacillated between four star, and five star only because I wanted to try more of the menu before giving it a five star. However, it was indeed such a wonderful night from everyone's great service, beautiful food that was quite yummy in an environment I'm giving 5 stars. read more

Our go-to when we're craving seafood but want something close to home. I definitely prefer this location over the others in the South Bay. Plenty of parking in the nearby garage, great service, clean & bright interior, and we never encounter long wait times. In fact, we're almost always seated right away or wait max 10min. PC is great for when you wanna catch up with some friends over happy hour (their guava margarita is my favorite!), dinner with family, or bigger group lunches. There's something for everybody on the menu, whether you're craving land or sea. I always say I'll order something different each visit, but then end up ordering the fish & shrimp taco platter again. :p But seriously, can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The lobster roll is super great, which is why I did not give 1 point. Oyster is the smallest I have ever seen. Service is soooo slow. Folks looked friendly but, it took over 10 minutes and nobody came to me asking me what to order until I waved. It took another 10+minutes and nobody came to get my credit card, when there is nothing on my table but the bill and my credit. I eventually had to wave and they came. We had the most amazing service last night! Our party was three adults and five kids. All of our order had special instructions. Andres, our server was so patient, kind, accommodating and awesome! We sat on the patio and our kiddos were a bit rowdy (they are 8 and under) and he was so kind to them. Everything came out perfect - just as we ordered. It was so nice to have such a peaceful, fun, easy going dinner and Andres is the reason for was AMAZING!
