Paddington Town Hall is a lovely old building that acted as a beacon towards my Paddo home when I was new to Sydney and the streets seemed like an endless tangle of bitumen and traffic. I've always appreciated it from the outside, but have only recently discovered just how charming it is on the inside too. Turns out, it's not just a pretty face. There's a huge grand hall featuring high ceilings, columns and polished floors, plus a balcony that runs the full length of the venue. I've also seen a few festival films in the adjoining Chauvel cinema, which makes you feel nostalgic the second you step inside. Built in the 1800s, this old girl has a lot of life left in her yet, with events like the fortnightly Young Australian Designers Market being held the second and third Saturday of the month. read more
