Right after I visited Backpackers Shop I went to another similar popular shop and was not impressed with it. I just wanted to go back to the Backpackers Shop because I knew they'd have multiple things to choose from for the needs. Not only do they have anything i think I might need for backpacking or hiking but their staff are a wealth of knowledge and experience. I talked with a guy who hiked the AT trail and another worker who had just hiked the trail I am planning to backpack through. They were a gold mine of knowledge and wise advice. My family has taken these "VIP" trips on several occasions. In the front of the store, there are clean restrooms and a nice lounge area where people who aren't interested in shopping can wait. We decided to stop at the mall and of our whole trip, this had to be the worst part. I enjoyed Ohio, but this mall is not of preference. This dingbat clearly saw me and my husband standing at the gate of Champs since 10:50a. She's been at the back of the store on the phone with who-knows-who just staring at us. So 11a hits and we're still standing at the gate and all the other stores around Champs is opening...still not Champs tho! Confused and defeated because we have to hit the road and go home, me and my husband were about to just leave. Then I decided to yell thru the gate to the woman and just ask if they were opening anytime soon, she looks dead at me and shakes her head "no". I then asked were they just going to be closed today? She then nodded her head "yes". She has yet to acknowledge me verbally. Absolutely rude. I would have been more understanding if she had just said something. But instead she watched us stand there waiting for well over 15 minutes. I'll be writing corporate about this.
