Literally amazing. All of the elements, perfection. Spicy bogus with white rice & greens.

I really enjoyed the build your own poke bowl. Wish there was better descriptions on the website about what your choices were. And doubling up on items should be an option. But highly recommend.

Great poke in Boise!! I've been here with my wife, colleagues from Singapore, and colleagues from Japan. Everyone loves it and can't wait to come back! Today I placed an online order which was ready very quickly and had a drawing on a napkin within. The staff cares and crafts a great dish!

Excellent spot to grab a poke bowl in downtown Boise. It's located inside of the Warehouse food hall downtown if anyone in your party isn't up for poke. I've been here each time we visit my daughter at BSU and it never disappoints. Go Broncos!

If you haven't been to Paddles Up Poke yet - I'm sorry you're living under a rock. Just kidding! But seriously, you need to swing by and treat yourself. I've been here on two different occasions while visiting and it has quickly become a staple of every trip to Boise. It's hard to find quality fish in a landlocked state & Paddles Up has got it right. My boyfriend's go-to menu option is the Bogus Bowl. I always opt to build my own bowl - it usually involves the Blue Rice & Traditional Poke with a bunch of other fun stuff mixed in. This time around, I also had salmon, ginger, kim chee, edamame, avocado, green onions & a wasabi drizzle. Is it a little more expensive than your average build and go food spot? At about $15-$17 per person, I'd say probably. Although, in today's economy, you can end up spending way more than that at a fast food joint. And Paddles Up is so worth it. Just take my word for it and thank me later.

This is grate. I've had this 29 times. 10/10 every time. Best poke in all of Idaho. Service Ps. I appreciate the little notes that are included.

Really good poke! I like that you can make your own bowl and it's a lot of food. Still pricey for take out but not bad for poke (the bowls are $15 without extra add ins) I'm not the biggest fan of poke but I thought it was decent. The workers were both really nice and I didn't have to wait long. There's a cool atmosphere with lots of seating inside and a few small tables outside.

Kanak Express food truck, Sunday July 13th lunchtime at Green Acres Boise…read moreBeen awhile since I had visited Kanak Attack, the food truck started up in 2009 and the business model now includes a mobile group that supports fire fighter activities, as well as a permanent catering division at Lake Harbor with a restaurant. As with any food truck, some of the hardest part of finding them is knowing where to look. I've had the best luck by following Kanak on Instagram, but you can also look up Green Acres by Shoreline Drive on Pioneer street (new location) to see the multiple trucks scheduled that week. Another source I use a lot is the Treasure Valley Food Truck Finder (formerly Boise Food Trucks) on Facebook. Like most food trucks that feature proteins, the prices have jumped up in the last two-three years. A salad with protein is the best bet for bargain hunters at $10, or the three tacos (see menu photo) but I have found that getting the twenty dollar "Two Entree Plate Lunch" works out pretty good as it's usually enough for one meal immediately and another reheated in the microwave (rice) and air fryer (meat). The plate lunch includes a) choose a rice, b) choose a salad and c) choose a protein. My favorites are the Kalua Pig, which is smoky, shredded pork that is juicy, not overly fatty, but maybe to salty for some. I saved most of this and made enchiladas the next day at home. Teriyaki chicken is the same price, add a $1 for the Katsu Chicken which was juicy and crispy with the breaded fried exterior and includes a dipping sauce that's a little sweet and addictive, it's so good. Used to plain macaroni salad? Hawaiian style is a little different, but delicious and is usually the first side I finish. If you are a first timer, don't be afraid to ask for help figuring out what to order, the crew usually takes the time to answer questions and guide you. The menu is pretty well organized into sections.

Located in the quiet shops off Entertainment, CK Hawaiian BBQ touts they have the best Hawaiian food in Boise. I think there is potential but they need an entire makeover, from the space to the recipes. For one, the restaurant was not clean. The tables were grimy and the floor was oddly sticky. It felt like the place hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. I ordered the Kalua Park Plate (savory pork with (or without) cabbage) with a side of macaroni and gravy ($8.45 for small), my husband the Chicken Katso also with a side of macaroni and gravy (panko breaded chicken breast, $9.55). We decided to take our food home. The second I opened the boxes, I was unimpressed. I'll spare you my very descriptive and unappetizing statement (something about the remarkable resemblance to wet cat food), but to be blunt, I was appalled. It was soggy mess of a few pieces of pork with way to much cabbage. I took one small bite and couldn't stomach anymore. Even my husband exclaimed "what the actual f***." The rest of the food wasn't the worst. The chicken katsu was breaded good but I was like where tf is the katsu sauce?! It wasn't anything special at all. At least it was edible. The macaroni salad was okay. It didn't taste very fresh, probably an old batch. I'm no Hawaiian food expert and based off their menu I got the impression that they're not aimed at providing traditional Hawaiian fare, but more so "inspired" fare. However, regardless of the origin of the food the fact remained that what I received tonight was terrible. Two stars, because the employees were very nice. And were very accommodating when we changed from dine-in to take-out.

Their steamed vegetables are the most delicious and unique I've ever tasted. I think they add a special seasoning, but it's perfectly balanced. I usually stick to a vegetable-heavy meal and skip the macaroni salad. The Katsu chicken plate with katsu sauce is a favorite of mine, and their tempura 2-piece shrimp is tasty and reasonably priced. On my first visit, I tried the best-seller and was blown away by how good it was. I ordered the tossed salad with raspberry vinegar dressing, Teri sauce cup, and spicy mayo sauce cup. I love that they serve your food on a bed of fresh coleslaw or cabbage, which is my favorite vegetable. They did this with the two-piece shrimp as well. Review #18 for 2022…read more My brother and I just happened upon this place as we were walking around downtown. We saw a truck parked on the side of the road that said, "Kanak Kitchen," so we looked it up on Google Maps and realized it was just around the corner. As Hawaii boys we needed to try it out. Kanak Kitchen is located on the fourth floor of an office building, so if you don't know that it's there, it's easy to miss. I imagine it's mostly just the workers in that building that frequent Kanak Kitchen, but I'd love to see more people from all around try this place. I'd call Kanak Kitchen a fusion of foods from Hawaii. We got poke nachos, which had a good amount of poke and chips with cheese. The quantities were proportional, and it came with some salsa too. We also tried a plate with kalbi short ribs, chicken katsu, Asian slaw, and coconut rice. Coconut rice is not typical in Hawaii, but it was very good as a support for savory foods. The chicken katsu was crispy and good. The kalbi was also good, but we're not used to it having a vinegar flavor. I'd like it a little more well done as it was kinda chewy, but still good overall. There's lots of seating in the restaurant, and there's also a quick serve kiosk on the first floor. Kanak Kitchen does catering too, but we haven't been able to try it yet. The owner Mike is nice, and we look forward to going back to try other foods too!

That's great, but I am just not into a pig roast or a slab of spam. Kanak Kitchen, though, is totally vegetarian-friendly and has more options than almost anywhere in town. They offer tofu for almost every entree as a protein choice, and if you ask for something meatless they're very accommodating. I love their tofu katsu, which is crispy fried tofu. It's available in a rice bowl, in their Asian burrito, and on a sandwich. The tofu is best in their Hawaiian tacos. For $6, you get two tofu tacos with Asian slaw and cotija cheese (I nixed the Sriacha sauce because I'm a wimp). The tofu is perfectly crispy and light and pairs with the vinegar and salt in the slaw and the creaminess of the cheese and creates a perfect taco. Most meals come with a side--salad, chips, soup, or their amazing cheesy tots. Let's be real, if you're an Idahoan, you're going for the tots. They're covered with gooey cheese, salty, and fried perfectly. If you want to keep it lighter, grab a salad. They have Asian, Ceasar, chicken bacon, luau, spinach bacon, and shrimp options. I asked for the Asian salad, which normally comes with chicken, but with tofu instead, and they agreed without a second question. I always appreciate service that is willing to meet a reasonable request with a yes. If you have room in your stomach, try a soup. They're house-made and phenomenal. I've tried the three-bean and the potato, and both were rich, creamy, and popped with flavor. Other sides include elotes, Hawaiian macaroni, potato, and a fruit medley. All are good but their kimchi is amazing and a unique option that isn't overly heavy. The desserts are amazing too. All of them have creative Hawaiian twists on a classic. Two thumbs up on the bread pudding, but the pineapple upside-down cake is my favorite. Prices are totally reasonable--around $9 for a hot sandwich with a side, or their enormous burrito, or a burger loaded with toppings. You definitely get your money's worth and will leave with a doggie bag too. The owner is an absolutely wonderful man. He also hires immigrants in the community, which I commend as a means of helping extend our Boise niceness to people from outside the valley. I will be back here. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe tonight. Once you try the food, you will too. There's nothing like it in Boise.
