I went on Saturday night to catch up with a friend who lives a couple miles from the bar. I also went in with extremely low expectations. I'm not really a fan of Irish-pubs since they are all the same formula: a pseudo-Irish name with a random Gaelic slogan, lots of Mexican food, and really loud cheesy dance music (the youngsters call EDM these days). Paddy Kelly's certainly followed the above formula, but for a couple draft beers (I think it's spelled draught in Irish bars) and a grilled chicken quesadilla, it wasn't bad at all. We stayed until about 10:30, when the Calvin Harris Pandora station came on. Oh sorry that was actually a real human DJ. The food was actually quite good and extremely well priced. The service was good and finding street parking wasn't a problem. I can't say I'd drive out of my way for it, but if you're in the area or if you're looking to meet up with a friend, it's not a bad spot. Playing off the review below this one, I AM a yuppie from Connecticut, and I LOVE Paddy Kelly's! The bar is laid back, relaxed, and just an all around good time. On Friday nights they have $1.50 Coors Light Drafts, and as far as I'm concerned, anywhere where cheap beer is good with me! It's a place to hang out with friend, grab some beers, and push ya tush to some beats. It is not a place to "be seen", but really, who cares about being seen? I head there with the BF Friday nights, and sure enough, there is always SOMEONE we know. 1 star left off because parking can be a little tricky, but circle a couple times and you'll find a spot. read more

A friend of mine tried to come in for a drink here tonight, on her 21st birthday. As she walked in she cheered to us (her friends), and was refused service because she was "too drunk". She was sober. But because she was apparently too enthusiastic for the less than hyped Monday crowd, she was turned away. No amount of reasoning was enough for the ridiculously arrogant door man. They lost out on a lot of money from all of us as a group and will continue to, because I doubt any of us will be back. So rude. read more

Its a basement bar for locals who dont like outsiders. They guy at the door checks your id then takes a pic of you with a camera attached to the wall! Wicked sketchy i know, it's because so many fights ot assaults would happen and they can give the police suspects. Bartenders are hot chicks and they have go-go dancers on the bar every now and then. Definitely one of my favorite hidden gems on the north shore, one of the few places that you can get a great meal even late night. The bartenders are always pretty friendly. Someone I know invited me to go here tonight, for the weekly beer-pong tournament. Im a HUGE fan of beer-pong tournaments and was pretty excited. The bar looked very cool, jukebox played current stuff and a ton of nice HD TVs played all tonight's live games. The bartenders were very attentive and welcoming on arrival, and very friendly. I opened a tab when I arrived and sat with a few friends at a table. I ordered drinks for myself and all other people I was with, and putting it onto my tab every round. Things got alot busier and more packed around 1030. I paid $10 entry for the beer-pong tournament and was graciously defeated during round 2. It was a bit chaotic with so many people walking by squished together and balls flying by, but a great time none-the-less, and the DJ seemed to have done a great job organizing and turning out the event. My quarrel began during my first beer-pong game. My friend and I were called to table #4 bar-side. During thr first game, a food runner was walking by the squished hall of pong players holding a delicious looking plate of barbecue wings. I made a comment about how appetizing it appeared with the very friendly food runner and decided to place an order for myself. I ordered the barbecue wings and two beers with the dark-haired bartender simultaneously as the food runner told both of us (me and the bartender) that he would go ahead and have the kitchen start the order. My beer-pong game ended, and somewhere near the end of the second game, the food runner approached me saying "Hey, your wings are up on the window, but the bartender forgot to put the order in. I can bring them as soon as she sends us a ticket, so just tell her." I approach the bartender and very kindly relayed the message, saying the food is up it just needs a ticket. She replied argumentative saying shes sorry it has been very busy and she cant go chasing people around, claiming she looked for me. I ordered the wings and two beers with her, she gave me the two beers and said shed put the food in 'in one second' and appeared busy. I told her its okay and that I understand, because I am also in the industry, she gave me a really dirty look as if maybe she thought I was being rude. I didnt mean to or feel as though I was. But I dont know why a bartender would argue with me about not placing the order for wings when they were sitting next to her ready LOL?! Okay.. Night goes on, wings were incredible! We lose the second game and sit at the bar and enjoyed the video games on the bar swivel screen. I even ordered more food! I bought more rounds for me and the friends I was with who sat at the bar aswell. I went to order another beer at 1220 and the OTHER bartender (blonde) said she wasn't comfortable serving me. I was baffled. I asked why. She was very short claiming my tab had 12 beers on it, i tried to explain i purchased drinks for the people infront of her (at the bar she handed them to). I had about 5 or 6 beers from 930 to 1220 and ate twice, playing a long sweaty tournament. I was sober as could be and was pretty overall offended and disappointed, as I could've easily returned with a great impression involving more people into their business and recommending the food to friends. I tried explaining but she began to make me feel really disrespected (visibly shit talking me to other employees behind the bar). I told her I felt as if I was better off paying cash instead of having a tab, that the sole reason im being cut off was for having a high tab? She then said "You were also slurring your words when you ordered your food". I lost it!! I pulled my upper lip back with my finger revealing a rotted tooth, and loudly explained "I need a root canal and have had trouble speaking, and am exhausted from my 40 hour work week". And rudely commented "Are you also a detective?". I asked for my tab, paid it without tipping, (CLEARLY?) and the blonde made a comment about 'me being in the business". That was something I directly said to the dark haired bartender, which really goes to show I did witness shit talk. It really put a terrible vibe on my experience naturally, I can assure you I was polite quiet and barely even spoke at the bar. I was ANYTHING but drunk. I understand bartenders have a job to do, but my experience was treated catty and unprofessional, not for safety. 6 beers 3 hours 2 full orders of food to myself and i wasn't even driving. The friends I was with sat there for twenty minutes afterward defending me to the bartenders talking them out of banning me. LAWL! I read on a few comments and reviews already of neglected service or turned away business, and how good of a guy the owner Dave is. Ill be contacting him tomorrow morning. It is 343am of the night I was cut off for the first time in my adult life. Would a drunk be able to articulately explain himself this well, this late? Sorry not sorry. read more

I can only speak to the food for this place as I have only ordered take-out and never actually dined in or sat at the bar. I have actually only ever gotten food from here once but it was so good that I had to write a review. I am disappointed that I am moving in a few weeks and did not discover this place sooner because the food is amazing! My husband and I ordered the fried pickles, the broccoli and cheese egg rolls, the pizza burger with waffle fries, and the combo with steak tips, turkey tips and seasoned fries (also comes with a small salad). Lets start with the appetizers. The fried pickles were pickle spears instead of chips which I think make for much better fried pickles and they were delicious. The buffalo ranch sauce for dipping had a great flavor. The broccoli and cheese egg rolls were awesome. I was very surprised at how good they were because they sounded a bit weird but the combination works and its delicious! The pizza burger was HUGE for the price and also delicious. Seriously a great value, I have paid the same amount for burgers half that size. The combo was probably the best part. Both the steak and turkey tips had so much flavor and they were so juicy. I would highly recommend both. Both the waffle fries and seasoned fries were good, flavored well and crispy. Overall I will definitely be back at least once before I have to move. This place has some really great food at some really great prices. Definitely worth a visit. Or at least take-out. read more

I came into the Boston area as part of a bridal party and this was my first stop off the plane. My sister (the bride) and groom chose this place for all of us to get together and start our celebrations. In total we were probably about 20 people, which was probably too much for the 2 bartenders and single cook on staff that night, but they were very kind to us. Understandably, with so many of us, service was a little slow, but everyone always got served. One of the bartenders even said she was new and apologized if she came off rude to any of us. When they found out why we were there, the staff thought it was "sick." As local patrons came in, some even talked to us and played darts with some of our group. Also, the veggie quesadilla here was AWESOME. Others ordered food and everyone loved what they got, but I have never had such a great vegetarian quesadilla! read more

Paddy Kellys is a fun place to meet friends for drinks and hear djs. The staff is always friendly and I've never had to wait long, even on a busy night. They stock UV cherry, one of my favorite vodkas which you wont find at every bar. Also I recently ate steaktips and philly cheesesteak rolls, both were delicious. They also have weekly events that are entertaining to watch and participate in. The biggest downside is the tiny womens room which contains one toilet!! And they do become crowded in the evenings... very crowded. read more

Love it or hate it, Paddy Kellys is now my go to bar. If I couldn't walk here in under 10 minutes, I probably wouldn't like it as much, to be quite honest. But hey, it is what it is... Before about 10, and even earlier (I'm saying like open to 7 here) the crowd is loud, drunk, obnoxious, dirty old men. I have to be honest, it is hard to feel comfortable as a smaller sized female in a place like that. They make very vulgar comments to and about the female bartenders and are just generally loud, opinionated men. Whatever... I'm not typically there at that time, so I guess it doesn't matter. When the djs start playing, especially on the weekend, it can get packed. Lots of drunk girls dancing and guys leering. I go with my boyfriend and friends, and I have to say the best part about this place is going in the back area and straight up people watching... I have seen some pretty funny stuff in this place! Anyways, most of the bartenders are really nice and friendly, though my favorite employee is the bouncer/after 10 id checker at the door. Always a little embarrassing to see him scan your id and see how recent your last visit was! Oh yes, and $1.50 draft Rolling Rocks... don't mind if I do!!!!! read more
