I thought this was a pretty good pizza place. For starters,…read morethe pizza was good. I enjoyed the cheese and meat lovers pizza. Also, my Pepsi was good. The service was also good. Our waitress was pretty nice. This restaurant also had a good ambiance to it too. The only downside was the bathroom was a little dirty. Overall, good pizza place and I recommend it.

Here's a little ditty called The Blue Moose Blues…read more (disclaimer: First off, I hate giving restaurants one-star reviews. It really hurts me to have to do it, but I have to be honest, so here it goes.) Lionshead has a weekly concert series, and on this particular occasion a band called Sqwerv was about to perform, which I was looking forward to all week, so I figured I'd go to Blue Moose and watch the band while enjoying a beer and some pizza from the outside patio. However, upon arriving, I was told that no one could eat at the outside seating area since they didn't have enough servers, even though the place was almost empty. That's fine, I suppose, but what if I served myself, ordered a pizza to-go, and ate it on one of the outside tables? I was told that I could not do that for some odd reason. I decided that I would just have a drink outside then, so I was given a drink menu and sat at one of the tables when the same hostess came over ten minutes later and said I had to order from the bar and then bring my drink back to the table. So, I guess she didn't want to go out of her way to do that exhausting task and make a small tip? Basically, not only does anyone not get any drink service, but we're not even allowed to eat anything outside during this particular event. All of the people sitting near me were as flabbergasted by the fact that no one could actually order and eat at this restaurant while watching this poor band that only a handful of people showed up to see. Maybe Blue Moose had some personal grudge against the band Sqwerv and didn't want anyone watching them that evening, as I've never seen this type of thing happen during any of the other Lionshead Live! concerts. Typically, anyone can eat wherever they want and enjoy some live music, so I watched the band play one song and left because I was hungry. Maybe I dodged a bullet, because it seems the pizza here isn't that great, and the service is dreadfully pathetic. Oh, Blue Moose, I hope you're proud to have earned a single star for your hospitality, and maybe in the future, you might actually value the fact that people want to eat at your restaurant and be more accommodating to them. In the meantime, you can keep your lousy subpar pizza all to yourself!

They weren't too familiar with the breakfast at the places we mentioned, but one person immediately said, "There's The Little Diner right down the street. It's very good and has even been featured on the Food Network." We decided to give it a try, and we are very glad we did. We arrived around 8:30 in the morning and sat at the counter. At the time we were the only customers there. A very nice lady brought us water and got me a coffee while we looked over the menu. It actually took us a while to decide because there were so many great sounding options. As we sat there deciding, more and more people started coming in. My wife ordered the sausage gravy over a biscuit with eggs and cheese grits, and I ordered the Eggs Benedict with potatoes. When the food arrived, everything looked excellent. The flavors matched the presentation too. My wife said the sausage gravy was outstanding, and my Eggs Benedict was excellent as well. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were very good, and the hollandaise sauce had great flavor. While sitting at the counter, we spent some time talking with our server. She told us she had been there since shortly after the diner first opened. Unfortunately, she also explained that the building is scheduled to be demolished so condos can be built above the property, and they are unsure whether the diner will be able to return afterward. It's honestly sad to hear about a place this good possibly being pushed out because of rising development and rental costs. I understand building owners want to maximize profits, but it's disappointing when small local businesses that people truly enjoy are forced out by higher rents and redevelopment. Places like this are what give towns character. Overall, this place was excellent. Great food, friendly people, and exactly the kind of local spot you hope to find while traveling.

V for Vendetta's or "Very Lacking"?…read more I went ahead and placed a reservation for 6:30 and showed up a little early but still had to wait ten minutes for a table. There was a vacant one outside in a nice spot, yet I was told that it was meant to accommodate a bigger party. I was with four others, and the table looked like a five-seater, so it was left empty for an hour, for no clear reason. The hostess came over to pour some water and spilled the pitcher all over the table without a word, which also got all over someone in our party's phone. Even though it took her a minute to go grab a rag and wipe everything up, an apology wouldn't seem entirely out of line. And then after ordering our meals, we waited... And waited... And waited... And waited... And waited some more... And kept waiting... And after an hour we finally got one pizza and a single bolognese dish, which arrived cold and with a sauce reminiscent of Chef Boyardee's. I knew they were busy, but this entire evening was just one disappointment after another. I'd give it half a star more just because of how wonderful their outdoor seating area is and the memories that I've had coming here in the past, but what a drastic decrease in quality and service. C'mon, Vendetta's, I know you have it in you to do better than this, but for now, I have to say that I have a vendetta against you!
