I don't know much about the church but the coffee shop is delightful. Just down the stairs are shelves of CDs and books but also a cute coffee shop with cozy seats and joyful staff. Fair trade coffee is on offer as are mince pies and truly delicious veggie cheese muffins, which I could probably eat a million of if I spent sufficient time there in a single sitting. It gets busy when a service lets out though, so time your visit well.

The book section has become a bit attenuated but still has a very good selection of general antiquarian books and is well worth browsing. Frew himself is very knowledgeable and helpful, as is the staff. It is very nice that a classic old bookshop such as this still exists and is worth visiting, especially if you're in the Science Museum area of London.
