I've got so fed up with the long queues at the main post office on Stoke Newington High Street, that it's great to have found an alternative option. There were still queues here at Christmas, but it's a busy time of year, so it's to be expected. Nonetheless, there were two counters open and they were far more efficient and faster working than the slowcoaches who work at the speed of snails at the main post office. So the queue went quickly and I managed to catch the last post at the post box outside. Hooray! A welcome discovery.

Definitely one of the bigger shop/post offices that I have come across. Its busy nature can be…read moreattributed to its central location. But when the going gets tough, the tough get going.... Or something like that. What I am saying, is that the staff are able to accommodate for the busy nature of the place. When it's busy they have about 5 staff members, which is not always the case at other post offices. The staff are actually pretty nice as well. I went in there to send a rather large package to Australia, and the lady was not even angry with my about the fact that I hadn't yet written the address because I was unsure of where to put it. It is the small things that separate the post offices in terms of quality.

This should be a great little shop for the residents of Highbury as it combines a corner shop, a…read morepost office and a cash point (which does not charge for withdrawals) into its four walls. However, I find it slightly frustrating. It probably isn't Londis' fault, but the post office always seems to be shut whenever I need to use it. I think that it is open from 9am-5pm weekdays and 9am-1pm on Saturdays which is fine (for a post office) but because the rest of Londis is open for longer I always forget and end up visiting at the wrong time. On top of this, I don't find the corner shop element particularly appealing. It feels like an afterthought to the post office rather than a proper shop in itself. This said, no complaints about the cash point.
