I think a few of you read this like a novel. Well I thought I could write the ending-not quite! Smh A doctor update: the former Founder of APA is GONE, Dr Wills-and parting was not sweet. I know how & why, and I'll leave it as not good. The entire medical community talks about the former APA Clinic-even when someone is NOT in the medical field. Austin does want to know: WHERE IS Dr Feferman? I thought I was done, but OH NO. I was given an amount much lower than my supposed total (which had included balance billing and significantly higher charges)-I paid cash to end it. THEN old claims previously processed as Out of Network (and part of my payment above) were resubmitted by "someone" as In Network, so this clinic collected double. NOT NICE. For those who hope this place is nice and has competent staff now-I hope so too. However, If they are so desperate or incompetent as to 1. Harass me for payment (no worries I save EVERYTHING), 2. Receive It after much negotiation THEN (as was always the CORRECT ROUTE- I was NEVER Out of Network) 3. Go To Cigna and RE FILE EACH as a "Corrected In Network Claim" I say BE CAREFUL. I am SO SICK of EVERYTHING related to APA and their new company BUT I have Ethics, and think my doctors should follow the Ethics to which THEY are bound. This isn't over, SO nothing else significant posts til this ENDS. Well, this new doc, Brennan Frank, is an arrogant, egotistical, condescending a**hole. Yes he is. I spent 10 minutes with this yuppie and was ready to strangle someone. Dr. Brannon Frank and PA-C Shawn Kyle have been caring for me for more than 8 years. I have chronic back pain after serving over 23 years in the military. Throughout that time they have had my interest at heart. Recently, Shawn led the appeal when I was disapproved for a promising spinal cord nerve stimulator. Shawn made several calls to argue the approval and the decision was reversed. I am now approved for the spinal stimulator. I owe Shawn a great deal for taking the time to launch this successful appeal on my behalf. Been a patient of APA since Jan 2015 and things were great under Kery Feferman and her NP Melinda who I saw every month like clock work. After Melinda went on military duty everything changed. I saw a new NP every month who knew nothing about me or the issues. bad attitudes and the last straw came last month when they switched me to someone new (John Wages) and told me at my appointment Kery was no longer with the practice. Didn't care for my experience with the new doc, although a few weeks later and now I get a bill for the drug test they always do on me. 2 years and never charged, now with new ownership, they send your sample out instead of doing it in house like they always did and you get a nice bill in the mail. The issue is that NO ONE informed me that the policy has changed or that they send it out now and they just expect there patients to know with new doctors and NP every month with crap attitudes. I called Billing and spoke to Denise who literally couldn't care less about my issue. I have been going there and being drug tested for 2+ years and never got a bill! My insurance company said they were always done in house and the policy changed under new management and they are sending them out now. This information could've been easily explained when they informed me they were testing me like they always do but the girl said absolutely nothing. I am completely for the drug tests because so many people abuse medication, although with their new policy, patients are going to go broke paying for drug tests while Austin Pain Associates gets off paying nothing! Because I have been a longtime patient, I asked if they would cover the bill or at least help with it since it's THEIR fault since no one informed me the policy or ownership had changed and she said absolutely not, it's my insurance's fault and they should pay it for you. I couldn't believe they would treat a longtime patient the way she did on the phone with me. When I told her I am leaving APA and making sure everyone knows how terrible this place had become, she snickers almost like a huge FU and says ok, take care and hung up on me. They too eventually got around to monthly urine tests. They also started a new policy that patients had to see a psychologist on their own dime since insurance does not cover it. Pain clinics are just money making machines. I was constantly encouraged to have spinal injections so my regular doctor wrote a letter stating that injections were not beneficial to me and in fact were harmful. So, since I was not going to have the costly injections, the rule for me to see a psychologist was instituted. I was lucky that my internist took over my meds and did not subject me to anymore invasive procedures or unnecessary urine screens. After 15 years being stable on my meds, I no longer have to jump thru hoops every month! read more

I went here for a second opinion, saw Dr. Frank and found him to be not only antagonistic, but quite a pessimist as well. Call me strange, but when it comes to my health, I prefer to work with people who operate with a positive mindset and communicate to understand. i.e. Asking questions and then interrupting and dismissing what the other has to say is not communicating. Absolutely love Dr Frank and his RN ! So so sweet and has given me my LIFE back. Have arthritis and joint pain and fibromyalgia in my hips and back and am a 23 year old new mom. They have helped me be independent of my pain and have even helped get my an strength back by prescribing physical therapy. I was referred to APA (Dr Paul Le) and have little, if anything good to say about this .. UH.. business. (it's a business, NOT a medical facility, in my opinion). In just 6 months months, with 4 appts, I have seen the good Dr only twice out of 4 appointments. Once, he was a no show!!!! ruined my day, but then had to go, AT HIS REQUEST, at 7:30 am a few days later. The final visit I saw some "wanna be" Nurse Practitioner, who's sole duty was to act like a big bad sister. I don't often FIRE a Dr. but when I do, it's well deserved. As of about 5 months or so this place changed the ownership. The new physicians that now own this place have no compassion whatsoever for pain. They started with on site injections and treatments. This saved a lot of money instead of having to go to a hospital facility and pay a much higher. Afterwords they took away the mental health doctors. I was told they didn't feel this was necessary. As someone who suffers with chronic pain, it's necessary. Then I started noticing some of the doctors that had cared for me in the past were leaving and then unfortunately found out my favorite doctor I have ever known in my life was also one of those doctors leaving. Dr. Kery Feferman is the most outstanding physician I have ever dealt with. She has more compassion in her then APA has now in its entire facility. After them wasting my time with a visit today I will no longer ever walk back into their facility. This place has gone straight downhill within the last several months. Do yourself a favor and find a Doctor Who cares instead of one (dr. Aijaz) that the first time you visit them they can't even look up from the paperwork and make eye contact. This same doctor Aijaz gave me injections in my lower back and as I was about to be unconscious I asked if he had ever even seen images of my lower back and his reply was no. Wow I was unconscious seconds after that and several weeks after injections I do not have less pain. Dr. Feferman has done these in the past and I had 100% satisfaction. Hmmm. It's not entirely clear to me if all the reviewers of Austin Pain all had bad experiences from the same docs, or a particular location. I'm going to say yes, otherwise I was incredibly lucky. I had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Khan at Austin Pain (the location - River Place off of 2222, just south of 620). The office staff were super nice and I was genuinely impressed with their responsiveness when I left a message with a nurse after a steroid injection that Dr. Khan had recommended. Also impressive to me was that Dr. K listened to everything I had to say, and really did not try to push me on any treatment that I wasn't interested in. He explained all my options and did his best, that I could tell, to help me out. When he said that I might want to consult a surgeon, he got me in to see somebody within a couple of days, when apparently, a lot of the good orthopedic/neurosurgeons are often booked a few months out. (This was made evident when i tried to get an appointment outside of his office with one, and 6 weeks was the soonest they could get me in as as a new patient). Yes, they drug test now if you are going to get a narcotic med. This didn't bother me like it did some of the other reviewers, but I'm not sure whether that was because they were just pissed off that the staff didn't warn them that their insurance didn't cover whatever they were testing for (which would piss me off too). I wish anyone with chronic pain well, because having been in those shoes, they are very, very uncomfortable shoes to fill. read more

As a chronic pain patient since 1989 I have been through five pain clinics and doctors. For the purpose of this review I address only Dr. Ajazz and the Austin Pain Clinic on Wyoming Springs in Round Rock. I would give Dr. Ajazz a rating of four stars out of five. he is still too young to earn 5 stars from me. He has more to learn. He is considerate and thoughtful. If you treat him with respect he will treat you the same. If you walk into the pain clinic with the attitude that the doctor, and maybe the world, owes you pain meds because 'poor you' is in chronic pain then just forget it. Doctors have laws that they must follow. It is a felony for a doctor to prescribe a narcotic to someone they believe is a drug addict. They could lose their license and go to jail. It happens. Federal drug laws control all manner of procedures and what a pain doctor can do for you. Just because you have pain and you are in a pain clinic does not mean that you are going to get some super meds and walk out with a smile on your face. Grow up! However, I have noticed that 2 or 3 people have similar complaints about Dr. Willis. I have never seen Dr. Willis and now I hope I never do. If a doctor humiliates you, belittles you, embarrasses you or is derogatory in any way then you need to GO OVER HIS OR HER HEAD AND TALK TO THE ADMINISTRATORS. There are bad doctors just like there are bad people in any profession. Do not rant and rave at us, go hit the target by complaining to the business office. If enough people complain about Dr. Willis and his kind then you will see some action. read more

Austin Pain Associates was purchased by Pain Doctor and has gone down hill ever since. Computers are often down so you cannot make an appointment for a follow up visit, office staff in the Cedar Park location (now closed) often did not arrive or unlock the door so patients could make there appointments. Then you get charged $50 for a no show, when in fact it was staff that was a no show. From what I have seen and experienced, I believe there are classic signs of bankruptcy in the future for Pain Doctor. read more

I am done with APA. Even though I miss my PA Shawn (he's no longer at APA) & I REALLY miss Dr. Feferman, I have a few PA's who I've seen at APA who were good. Especially Emily! Dr. Frank wants to take me off a pain med that I've been on for 12 years & didn't give any kind of warning. He already took me off another med that I have to get from another doctor even though Dr. Feferman & Shawn had me on it for 4 years. Frank doesn't care about patients as people, IMO. Maybe He cares about the medicine & research side, but in a field like "pain management" I want someone whose compassionate. I want you to look at me as someone who suffers from CHRONIC pain & needs your help. I don't trust doctors who have the ability to disconnect...I prefer doctors who have children...call me crazy, but it seems many of the good doctors I have dealt with in the past always were parents. I know that's NOT 100%, but it's been an interesting thing I've noticed over the years. I am hopeful that I will find a new doctor that was any where close to my long time doctor, Feferman. UGH! I wish I could see her again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this office unless you go there for the most basic of services. I don't think the practice will last too much longer. Frank is very hard nosed & is taking many patients off a pain med that has worked for me & given me a normal life for 13 years. Many patients are leaving because Frank is taking them off it. Even if eventually I wasn't on this med, it would've been good to have been forewarned & talked with about how to make me comfortable when removing me from it. NOPE. Pain management is a tricky field. It's not like a family doc. Find someone whose right for you & what your needs are. Doctors - THANK GOD - come a plenty --- but NOT good doctors, so I'll have to wade patiently through it all again to find another Dr. F! read more

I am just tickled pink , I went yesterday for my injection and trigger point shots I was so nervous I wanted to cry but the staff was incredible they made me feel at ease and today 8 feel so much better . I can say I am so happy to have Dr. Wills has my doctor even though I had to wait . With all of the negative reviews I see here, it would appear that APA, like just about anything else, has it's good and bad attributes. I count myself lucky that I have not had the experience of dealing with a few of the Drs. here. I can only speak of my experience with DR. Ajaz. I have had nothing but terrific experiences with him. I have had a few scheduling problems due to the fact that their computer only allows appts. so far out. Every time I deal with Dr Ajaz I am secure in the knowledge that he knows what he is doing. He takes his time with me, and we go over every aspect of my RSD. The pain is excruciating, but he and I have been able to find a comfortable middle ground where I can function somewhat normally. With me I will never regain full use4 of my hands or legs, but with his help I can get by. I am truly sorry that there are some people there who are obviously less than thorough and seemingly uncaring. If you need a pain management Dr, I highly recommend Dr. Ajaz. read more

I've been taking my father here for a couple of years for back pain treatments. The staff is friendly and attentive. The reception area is clean and has CURRENT magazines. There is a commercial Keurig with several kinds of coffee too. I mean when you're waiting for an hour and a half these small things count. Donna Teague, PA has been a very helpful and compassionate liaison for my physician at APA. The business protocol is to see a RN or PA monthly or quarterly depending upon the type of medication or services the patient is receiving. Ms Teague is a very pleasant and positive force in helping me maintain the best optimal care available to address the chronic conditions that I face daily. These conditions began in the late 80's. I luckily was referred to a pain management facility, specifically Dr Robert Wills in the early 2000's. I have been put through an array of diagnostics and procedures over the course of the years. I'm not sure there is one answer or one method to treat chronic syndromes; therefore, I try to keep an open mind. I haven't found the right combination of meds or procedure to keep me symptom free but feel that the care and direction that I receive from Ms Teague to have made a difference. We have gone down many roads, all with the hopes of finding a magic formula. I don't think it exists. I think the patient has to realize that some things may bring relief, some may bring temporary relief and some may not help at all. I was unaware that there is a community of people who frequent these shops for recreational purposes. I didn't realize that they are the norm and not the exception. I have been told that each business day is riddled with this clientele. I have learned through APA and through other sources how scrutinized this area of medicine is. It is difficult for the doctors and practitioners to immediately recognize who the perpetrators are because they can look so normal. Testing used to be randomly administered at APA, and then the perpetrators began to complain that they were being discriminated against. In an effort not to appear discriminatory, the practice began requiring all patients on every visit to comply with testing. They did this to prevent abuse, to ensure adherence to laws/regulations and to prevent the abusers from claiming discrimination. Testing is annoying and a waste of time and money for the legit... but what is the office supposed to do? How is the practice supposed to protect their interest in this industry? I have experienced some of the annoyance and frustration found in the trail of reviews, but in my 10+ years of patient services with this facility... I would have to say my positive experiences as a whole have outweighed the not so positive. A word of advice... office shopping in this industry can quickly label the patient as "drug seeking". I would rate them lower but there is no lower choice. Went there for years and was really helped but they have changed ownership and not only will they no longer help you with your pain but the service is lousy, billing is atrocious and they are not willing to help when you have a billing problem or your pain. My insurance refused to cover the cost of care because the coding determined the service was "not medically necessary" and when I asked for help in correcting the problem was told they couldn't do anything about it and when I asked to speak with a supervisor was told that no one that does the actual billing was available. I will no longer avail my self of their services which is too bad as it used to be a stellar clinic. read more

Find someone else, these guys are abysmal. I wish I could take away someone else's stars, they are so horrible. I am actively searching for some other pain management doctor. I can't speak for all of the doctors, but the general vibe is that they think they're a methadone clinic and their job is to deny narcotics, rather than to help patients manage my pain. It was Christmas, I had just had surgery, and they would not even talk to me immediately following surgery and when I finally got ahold of an actual person on call, they told me to suck it up or go to the ER, they would not authorize even a small increase in pain medication, when in fact, going to the ER would have meant ripping off a plaster cast, AND, I signed a paper with them explicitly stating I would NOT go to the ER and ON TOP OF THAT, I had been ASSURED by the PA that they would work with me after surgery to make sure the pain was well managed. What really pissed me off is I wasn't asking for narcotics, and when I DID manage to strangle some Lyrica out of them (I had had nerve transplant surgery for god sake) it totally washed away the horrifying burning nerve pain I was experiencing. One star only because they don't allow a negative. I was a patient 5 years and everything was "OK". During the first 4 1/2 years I had never met Dr Frank, my treatment was overseen by a Physician's Assistant. Then Dr Frank took over and every other doctor left. Even the PA's left (Shawn was the best). Then the entire staff left, including the receptionists. At 4 1/2 years Dr Frank asked me to try a new drug. I did but it made me sick, so I went back to my regular. I later found out that he lied intentionally about the new drug and put me on such a lower dose that I had been experiencing withdraw. When he asked me 6 months later to try another "new" drug I declined because I was undergoing medical treatments and didn't want to mess with things. This is when I was told I was being fired as a patient because the Dr no longer wanted to prescribe meds, just do injections at his surgicenter down South. He said he got $150 to prescribe meds and made $3500 for injections. That's when I found out Dr Frank was grooming himself to be a part of PainDr.com, which he saw as his dream to make it big, and why he got rid of everyone. He's one of those little guys that feel they need to push people around to show he's the big guy. Incredibly arrogant, he doesn't listen to his patients, he already knows what's best and if you question him he gets very angry. If I had met him at the beginning I would have never gone there, but he was just a name on the prescriptions at the time, I had no idea. read more

Wow funny everyone that has had dr frank says the same thing. He talked right over me told me I was obese at 6'2" 253. I was told I could loose weight like he did and he is in his 40's. I do t think he gets that I could care less. I am fine for the most part on my size. It's the chronic back pain I have from arthritis. Ripped my pain meds away which was not that great to begin with. Offered shots which cost a lot and last but a wk. This guy doesnt care he just wants to feel good about himself that he took somone off meds. Awful. And I spent years in the healthcare industry, so I know awful when I see it. Patient churn machine. Went once, never again. It's a red flag when there are 4 patients with the same appointment time as yours for the same procedure. One poor woman waited so long she fell asleep. When she didn't respond when they called her name (the waiting room was packed), they threatened to cancel her appointment when she woke up 10 minutes later. Dr. Frank did an epidural injection and RUSHED it. Not a place you want someone in a hurry. I didn't use anesthesia for the procedure and it was brutal. Went elsewhere (Republic Spine & Pain), thinking it was always that painful and was shocked when I realized my new doctor had finished the procedure. Totally different experience. I am really blown away at the age of 55 years old at how I was treated by them! My primary Dr. is leaving the practice and she suggested that I might benefit from going to pain management. Today I was treated like a criminal. First of all I went there to interview this place to see if it would be a good fit. The Doctor took an assumption approach and told me that there wasn't anything wrong with my back when in fact the State says differently since I am on disability! He also said that he would not prescribe me Valium that I take for muscle spasms and that the medicine wasn't designed for that. REALLY! I have been taking it for severe spasms for several years now. He also had his nurse hand me a cup to pee in again like I am a criminal when I was just there to find out if he was a good Doctor. I would never advise anyone that has multiple diseases like myself to see this place. They are all about what they believe works and not about what really works for you. He also farms out all of your existing illnesses to Doctors that he knows! I also want to urge anyone to look at all of these blogs because people are telling the truth here. You can look at two or three good reviews but the next twenty tell all. I urge everyone to know that this isn't the only game in town but it does seem to be a game. Their pee test are for criminals! After a motor vehicle accident leaving me with a chronic SI joint problem, I had been using APA and their pharmacy for approximately four months. During this time I have been on two different medications which have worked. I am writing this because of the lack of communication between the insurance preauthorization department and the pharmacy. Because of their lack of communication between themselves and myself, I am without medication for eight days. I would not write this review if I did not feel it was entirely their fault. People had to go in looking for their family members because they had been in the back for soo long. I was there almost 2 hrs and did not see the doctor. I was referred to this office for a procedure due to my insurance (Cigna). First, I was told they did not receive the referral. I had to call back to my main doctor office and get it re faxed twice. Each time they said they didn't have it. Once they finally received it, they said it would take 24 to 48 hours to process my paperwork and insurance to get me scheduled. It took 2 weeks to get scheduled for my procedure. Two days before my procedure, I got a phone call that my insurance is not in network and I would have to pay out of pocket. I was then told they do not know how much, but I would be receiving a phone call with how much I would have to pay. Several hours later, I received a call with the out of pocket expense. I then received another call saying that I owe more money. I then find out that the first price quote was for the facility and the second price quote was for the doctor. I also found out that my insurance covered for the doctor and not the facility. I was told that they can not file the doctor's services without filing the facility services, but yet they could separate them to take my out of pocket money which totaled over $800 that I was to have in 2 days for my procedure. When, I told APA that I had out of network coverage and that the facility should at least be covered out of network; they told me they could not help me and I would have to call the facility (which I did not have the information or number; nor did they offer to give it to me). They seem to only be interested in how much money they can get from someone and not interested in treating them! I have been in the medical field a long time and have worked inside and outside of hospitals and with insurances. Dealing with or should I say the lack of involvement with APA has been the worst and most disorganized company I have ever dealt with. I will never recommend them and will make sure others know as well. If the office can't even get their information organized; how can you expect everything to go well in the procedure. By the way, I called Advanced Pain Care told them my story. They were able to get me in for an appointment the following day. They were caring, understanding and very organized! I would tell anyone contemplating using Dr. Wills to RUN away as fast as possible and find another doctor. At first, I was also thrilled with Dr. Wills - on my first visit - as I was so desperate to be out of pain I would have been happy with anyone who said they could help me. But after that first visit, I was treated like a lying, drug-seeking criminal. I understand that TX law has certain reqs and controls for doctors who prescribe certain medications but at the same time, there are ways to remain in compliance with those requirements without humiliating patients. I was required to take a UDS every time I went into the office. The bill to my insurance ran over $1200 PER screen! The first part of the test ($350 for my insurance) is the equivalent of the test you can buy at CVS. There was an appalling lack of communication between staff members. I was told that I needed to participate in their group therapy program and threaten with dismissal from the practice. The only problem with that was that I had already completed it. It was noted in my chart that I attended each session without missing one. (That pare was actually pretty informative and the guy that ran it, Gary, is great) While I was attempting to get that situation clarified, Dr. Wills actually yelled at me! He got up from his chair, put his hand in my face and told me to "talk to the hand". He had failed to read my chart and had kept me waiting for over an hour even though I was told I had his first appointment of the day. Even one of his nurse practitioners said he has a problem with "aggression." Finally, upon getting copies of my records, I discovered factual errors. My records indicate exams that were never done, conversations that never occurred or were misquoted, wrong medication counts, inaccurate times and dates and so on. On my very last trip to that office was just to pick up a prescription. Despite having an designated time to come in and pick it up, I was made to wait 45 min for someone to hand it to me. I didn't need to actually see anyone, I just needed someone to hand me a piece of paper and had to wait 45 min to get it. If you are currently with Dr. Wills and are happy - then great. I would strongly advise getting a copy of your records and making sure they are correct. If you are even contemplating going to Austin Pain Associates, please reconsider. I have now moved to the Austin Pain Institute with Dr. Schockett and and being treated with dignity and respect that we all deserve. I had a question about my next appointment and sent them an email - instead of having to wait hours or days for the answer to a simple question (was it at 10 or 10:15), I received an email response in less than 20 minutes and then a follow-up phone call just about 10 minutes after that! Remember that doctors are just people and YOU are the client. You have a right to have your pain treated and to be treated with dignity. Honestly I felt like I was a cow being herded into a room. A room that I waited hours in. I I came here because this is a place my primary care doctor recommended. I got checked in. Waited literally several hours for the doctor to even see me. He spent about 10 minutes evaluating me and decided that the best course of action was to shoot my spinal cord 3 times at a cost of about 3 grand. That didnt really sit well with me so I got a second opinion from another pain management specialist in town that a friend of mine had seen in the past. Turns out there are other options that are less invasive and quite easier on my wallet that we can go ahead and try before pulling that trigger. Long story short, if you want to get ripped off with no remorse and be treated like a number, go ahead and get treated here. Otherwise I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Uncaring & Unprofessional! I have been on pain medication & management for over 20 years due to degenerative disks, fibromyalgia and lupus complications. Unfortunately it seems every time our insurance would change I was forced to find a new Pain Dr and that can make it hard to have good established relationships. I have been extremely lucky with my Drs until our move to TX! At first things were working out well and I found a great Primary and specialty Drs but then my Primary retired and none of my other Drs wanted to be responsible for all my meds. One med in particular. For the most part the meds in addition to trigger point injections, epidurals, acupuncture, massage, & exercise is all I need to function. Nothing takes all the pain away without making me completely knocked out which I do not want! I need to work and enjoy my family. However, every now & then I need what is called a break thru med to help. The only one that has helped me most Drs don't want to be responsible for. So this is how I ended up at Austin Pain Associates a year ago. For one prescription of 30 pills to last the entire year. I was told not to see another pain Dr which I didn't. I was told to return in one year. I called to get an appointment and was told I couldn't get in for another 3 months which would be about 6 weeks past the one year mark. I said no problem I still had pills left. On the day of my appointment I arrived early to be asked for my paperwork. I explained I was a previous patient & was told that since I hadn't been in for more than 6 months I needed to be reassessed. I said ok but I didn't have any paperwork. The girl just kept giving me these looks like I was an idiot! Then she handed me the paperwork & said she would need to talk to the Dr. She was gone approx 30 secs not long enough to talk to anyone! Then came back & told me I'd have to be rescheduled! I was shocked. I said " so you - not you personally but your office, made me wait months to get an appointment, then didn't tell me about any paperwork nor send me anything. I had to have my son in law drive me all the way down here (we live in another town 30 mins away & I had heart surgery 2 months ago so cannot drive yet) and have my husband take time off work to meet us there and now you're telling me I need to be rescheduled because of some stupid paperwork? Except for my heart surgery and a mild TIA nothing has changed in the past year! I was so upset and all she did was give me this attitude of yeah we aren't going to see you today too bad. Come back in 3 months and maybe we will see you! I must be extremely lucky because I have never been treated that way by any medical people. I guess they just get so many people needing pain meds and since regular Drs can't or won't deal with these types of medications, they are free to treat people however they want! I will NOT go back there ever and I know they do not care as they have plenty more people waiting to get in! It's very sad that people who truly need these types of medications have to beg and put up with all this horrible treatment just to find some peace. read more

I am shocked to see these negative reviews! I have been a patient of Dr. Alan Silberberg (on William Cannon) for nearly a year (once a month). He has been extremely successful in reducing and controlling my pain. I have never waited more than 5 minutes, I have found the staff to be friendly, sympathetic, and extremely helpful. The office and the procedure place are clean and modern. The thing that really stands out to me is how kind Dr. Silberberg is! I have met with him personally at every visit. He always takes the time to answer my questions and educate me about my pain. I always leave the office feeling upbeat. It is worth noting that I am not the easiest case. In the past five years, I have had 3 extensive back surgeries. I now have 28 screws, 2 rods, and 2 cages in my back. Even with all of this hardware, in the past I have been treated with suspicion, skepticism, and complete indifference by other doctors! I have met a lot of doctors and healthcare professionals in the last 5 years, and Dr. Silberberg stands out above all of the others for his kindness, sympathy, and his abilities! read more

I appreciate Dr Le looking at my information and that of my PCP to where I could get help. I am sleeping better now... (Pain mgmt, Dr Le adding muscle relaxer was a big help). It's a good interim solution until either surgery or the root of pain determined, would prefer to see Le but not a fan of office!! Initial visit with Dr Le was great. Follow up from his staff is poor. I had a root canal at 7am, it took his office until 3:45pm to respond. And I called, they said it takes providers 24-48hours to respond. I called the provided and they said the pain office called an hour after the procedure. The root canal office quickly took over the pain meds and were put out with lack of responsivity and they lied. Also, Shawn was not helpful. I feel like he didn't address my follow up visit with anything but a plastic face. But thank you Dr Le!! read more

Dr. Silberberg has been a lifesaver for me! I can't explain just how improved my quality of life is. The wait times are much shorter than most doctor's offices and the staff is very friendly. I've never had a doctor care about his patients the way Dr. Silberberg does. He truly cares and wants to make sure that my life is a pain-free as possible. Where did Dr Silberberg go?!?! What a loss to APA to no longer have Dr S on staff. He has been my Dr for several years and has changed my life by helping me with my pain management. He always has taken the time to make me feel heard and cared for at each apt. He keeps me up to date with all the latest advancements in pain management, take the time to explain everything to me and he even ask me about my personal life, something I really appreciate. That personal touch is hard to find these days. All I can say is that i hope he has plans to set up his own private office soon!! Run fast to anywhere else. I am so tired of being treated like a second class citizen by this company. They do live up to there name because it will cause you pain to have to deal with these people!!! The front desk is full of bitchy girls that look down there nose at you while you try to get info in how long it will be ( ALWAYS an hour or better wait to be seen) the real doctors don't have time the pa's treat you like a drug addict. I have panic attacks when I have to go for an appointment because the service is so bad. I am in worse condition now after being treated for months by Dr. Silverberg and his team! I don't write reviews to often, unless something is really bad or amazing. I have been seeing Austin Pain Associates since 2013. I have been seen at the Cedar Park, Georgetown, Kyle, and South Austin (William Cannon) locations. I have been seen by three different Dr.'s each of them being the very best when it come to my injections. In the last six months or so I have started seeing Tessa Gibbs RN as for my visits and the Doctor gives me the injections. Tessa Gibbs has been by far the best!!! I have slipped disc in my back and my neck. The neck is what is my main issue these days. For three years I have been getting shots of Steroid injections. These injection thankfully last me around five to six months. However, I still always have muscle pain. I get messages often which help and I take muscle relaxers every day. It helps me keep the pain at a level that I can work with. Today, after seeing Tessa Gibbs she suggested a new type of treatment Radio Frequency Thermocoagulation and Trigger point injections. No one has ever offered this even though I have always complained of the muscle pain. Tessa listened to me, she heard what I had to say and she suggested a new treatment. I have not yet had the treatment it will be in the next few weeks but I am so excited to try a new treatment along with the current treatment. I really think that this will help. But my biggest and my grateful thing I have to say is Tessa Gibbs listened to what I had to say and treat based on that. I have always had great treatment with Austin Pain Associates, Tessa is the best there is. read more
