Went in today to get a quote, speak to a tattooist about some work I need done. Upon entering no less than 4 employees looked at me like I had 3 heads because I had a mask on. (I am a healthcare worker it isn't negotiable) After uncomfortably talking to "the owner?" for a few mins, he told me that my "skin tone" was not something he could work with. I'm a standard white boy. So yeah calling BS on that one. Also, a shop not far from you was glad to take my money. They were respectful and attentive to my ideas. I will be providing their business with a favorable review just based on the service I already received, and the art is way crisper than this shop. If you value your health, vaccinated or not and don't want to be discriminated against due to insistence on basic barrier precautions, don't go here. Also, the dude I spoke with was not helpful in the least, arrogant, and just a total lack of respect. I don't give a shit how good the art is, it's not worth your life. Plus, these people are dicks. Most likely because they think they can get away with it. Nobody gives a shit that you can tattoo, bro. read more

A tattoo parlor with a nice easy going feel with a warm welcome. From the beginning it is easy to feel comfortable here with Vince. Always willing to make sure you're happy with his work, and does a great job of combining ideas into the tattoo you want. This tattoo studio is amazing. Everyone is so welcoming the second you walk in the doors, everything is extremely clean and professional. if you go here go with any other artist EXCEPT niki. i've been going with her for a few years now i started going with her when she had a shop with her previous boyfriend. her work was great she would charge me a reasonable price but after i went with her a couple more times i noticed that she would start charging me up the a** for simple pieces and it would take her like a week to even get back to me. on top of that when i would have my appointment set with her she would push back my appointment THE DAY OF my appointment so it was really an inconvenience. she's not reliable and she talks sh*t about her other clients to you while you are getting tattooed... definitely not professional. read more

The Painted Ape is so warm and welcoming the moment you step through the door. I asked if they were new, got a tour of the whole shop! I've never had an experience like this in any tattoo parlor I've been in. Tattoo shops are usually filled with an arrogant male agenda. Vinny really takes his time, and doesn't make you feel bad when you want to change up the rough draft. The attention to detail is insane... A coworker of mine suggested checking this place out, and I am glad I did. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming. I had Jacob do some work for my son and myself. Everything turned out beautiful! I am already planning out more work to be done. I live that there are no huge egos in the shop. I asked Jacob about a portrait, and he pointed me to Vince, because he's the master at it. The guys there want you to have the best work possible, even if it's not them to do it. I have been looking for a place to get some more ink done. My regular artist was in Merced and stopped doing ink and started doing body modification. I contacted painted ape and spoke to Vince. Told him exactly what I wanted for one of the tattoos and was unsure about getting sleeved. He came up with some great ideas and he is working on the art right now. I looked at a lot of his work he had photos done and if mine turns out anything like the ones he showed me I will be extremely happy. I'll post a picture of my ink when it's done.
